  • Did not know, an engine could talk.

  • To my Knowledge a B204FT was available only for the Italian market.

    Output: 200 HP

  • That is correct! Regards Peter (from Sweden)

  • Around 191 HP is what the papers say if I remember it correct. And they're only 2.0L which is a little smaller then all the others who are 2.3L. I've been looking into turbo convert my 740 16V 2.3L but then I have to rebuild enough so I can register it as an rebuilt vehicle. It's 159HP original and with a turbo you'll get a significant change in power and they use to get up to 500HP out of them. Search for 740 16v turbo and you'll find the grey one that is drifting.

  • @Claude360GLS we also had it here in spain

  • That engine is pretty rare these days - they make a lovely noise as do the B234F

  • 2.0 turbo- 191 hp

  • HEY! i can do that. I am legen.....wait for it... dary!

  • common guys, I own 960 with the same engine - it is B204FT - 16V turbo, only EU

  • hehe, sorry for the reaction, i didn't understand what you meant.

Project pictures are posted on turbobricks in showroom, search for 16V turbo 760 should get you there.

  • Oh yeah, a turbo version of that engine was never offered in the states. You could have one of 3 engines, the normally aspirated B230F, the normally aspirated B234F, or the turbocharged B230FT, which spec'd out at 162HP stock.

  • i've got news for you, there are people using youtube outside of the USA as well. this video was taken in Europe where there were many different engines available in the 700 series, including 16V turbo.

What is your point? don't believe that there is a turbo version of the 16V redblock or that this isn't one?

  • @neonalon i think he was making a statement dickbag. not trying to say it doesnt exist. he said a fact. that is true. that engine wasnt offered in the u.s. market. he never at any point said nor insinuated that it didnt exist

  • @cchagros

    In the U.S. you could also get a D24 diesel in a 740 sourced from VW and a B280F V6 in a 760 or 780 sourced from Peugeot/Renault.

  • Looks like a B234F to me, as there is no turbocharger visible, nevermind intercooler hoses. They were 154 HP stock here in the states.

  • It sure has a turbocharger... if you look closely you'll see a charge air pipe on the exhaust side of the block and the aircleaner on the passenger side too. The turbocharger is mounted very low.

It sure looks like a B234F, because it is the same block externally haha (differences are internal, squirters, forged pistons, smaller bore, windage tray etc).

  • God I want that engine.

  • Same hear. Drop that bad boy in my 88 245.

  • Have the same engine in my 740 glt 16v=)

  • exactly, this is B204FT - 140KW/190hp, 270nm torque. The difference between FT and GT is: GT have lead resistant oxygen sensor and lacks catalytic converter. So, on GT the exhaust is not obstacled, hence the 148KW/200hp power output.

  • this is a B204FT block, but no catalytic converter fitted (came like this from the previous owner, he said it had been like that). It Should be 204 hp/290 NM now.

The engine is out of the car now, balance shafts removed, waiting for all new seals and gaskets, engine block heater, PZ cams, bigger injectors, 3" exhaust, better oilcooler etc.... :D

  • No this is B204FT/GT: 195-200hp

  • haw meny in dis car KW?

  • 118 / 119kW (159hp)
