  • Saxon still going strong

  • saxon was cool cause they didn't try to look like every other heavy metal band in the 80's

  • Fucking Saxon! Fucking forever!!!

  • I was the first person to see and hear of the band Saxon in my home town of Salem, OR! I seen them when they opened up for Cheap Trick on Dream Police tour/Strong Arm of The law. Came home bought the Record, showed it to all of my friends, and they all went crazy over it. Seen them a total of 5 times and met all the band when they performed here in Salem w/Accept and Heavy Pettin. Got the privilege of talking with lead guitarist Paul Quinn for 15 minutes.

  • que buen solo

  • Dudes rockin' an inspiring porno 'stache

  • Odd subject matter but Awesome jam. Damn!!

  • this is my favorite saxon song. strong arm of the law was the first saxon album i ever bought. i've still got that vinyl. i bought it back in 1983!

    saxon rules!

  • I love the sound of those Gibson SGs.

  • no less than a metal classic of dignity

  • great song!!

  • most amazing guitar solo

  • First of all, Saxon was a really good band. Their music was hard enough to satisfy most metal heads, yet not so over the top that they became caricatures of themselves. Second, this song is so real and raw that it touches upon the intense emotions that are still all around us concerning the most awful day in american history--the day John F. Kennedy, our President, was murdered by people within our government right in front of our eyes.

  • @gwyneth00 well, the assassination of abraham lincoln is right up there with the jfk assassination. not the only 2 presidents ever killed. however, they are the only 2 that get the most attention. for example,

history book barely if at all make any mention of the assassination of William Mc Kinley. you hear more about the attempt on reagan than the fact that zachary taylor may have been poisoned by the gov't or about William Henry Harrison, who died a month into his 1st term.

  • saw them live in concert , they were bad to the bone back in the day. one great song.

  • The Best....Rock and Roll one of the finest solos ever !

  • The Best....Rock and Roll !

  • I was there for this concert in Madrid, I was stationed at Torrejon Air Base with the Air Force seems like they opened for Gary Moore...need to see ticket stub to remember this one, 20+ years ago...

  • I was there, stationed at Torrejon Air base, seems like they opened for Gary Morre...have to go find my ticket stuff to see...

  • Spinal Tap based their bass player off of Steve Dawson...it's true. Do some research on that! But yes they are the real spinal tap but 100 times better and are still rocking today...I miss Steve And Graham but i love the new saxon too... ODS saxon are also good. That's Steven And Graham's Saxon band.

  • fucking amazing. Saw these guys in the 80's.. Good memories still alive.

  • rock n fucking roll you fucking rock monsters

  • rock n fucking roll

  • The tr00 prototype of Spinal Tap.

  • I see there are a bunch of 80s metal heads / Saxon fans here. I was the only guy in my class (82) that listened to Saxon. I saw them five times in the 80s. Draggin my GF to the shows...lol, She was more of a Journey fan. She hated it. Saxon blasting our heads for while was Goooood for me!

  • I can feel your emotion... I saw Saxon back up UFO in 82, I was an immediate fan... nothing like early 80's New Wave Of British Heavy Metal ! Contact me, We could talk for hours... Maiden Rules !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best Metal songs ever! Looks like there 4people that need to get to Dallas just after lunch.

  • I love this song, thanks to put it.

  • Saw them on the Power & Glory tour in 1983, with Nigel Glockler on drums, had a girl support band, Cheetah, IIRC. Then saw the last Thin Lizzy concert, and UFO, all in the same year. Must have been '83 as UFO were on the Making Contact tour, and Lizzy were on the Thunder and Lightning with new guitarist John Sykes. Great live band.

  • @crabboyjimmy - saw that same tour!!! in cali it was called the British Metal Onslaught!!! was never the same after that!!! Thanks for the memory!!!

  • Saddest day in American History! Saxon bringing that faithful day back to us all! Rip JFK

  • YES! They tell about the dead of JFK

    IN DALLAS,

It is a very good song,

    about american history, and philosophi,

    estated in history books,

    how they shoot em...

    good night together,

    have a good sleep!

  • When Oliver and Dawson were in the band, Saxon were the best! Never been the same since.

  • LOL Iommi and rudy schenker on prozac. nice perm! The drummer,

mike reno, loverboy? Snake I saw that tour! Wish to he//

Saxon headlined, and that I didn't bring a date..

something is wrong here, terribly wrong...

  • I saw the tour in 87, at Dayton Ohio - when saxon took 3 encores -& ENDED UP blowing Malmsteen right off his own headline stage ! HAHA awesome show

CROWD was just like this one - CRAZY as hell ! it was great !

  • 1982 SAXON,IRON MAIDON,FASTWAY COW PALACE SF THE BADEST CONCERT!!!!

  • Saxon were a great band. Their only problem was that they looked like they were on a reunion tour when they were in their prime! Great band, should have been way bigger!

  • @kwakis Yes I agree - in America image was everything and that's what hurt them, In the rest of the world people aren't as shallow I guess and they did better in Europe and Asia I think.

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Fucking amazing saxon has always been a good memory saw them with iron maiden and they made the hemisphere arena in san antonio spin!!!!!!!

  • 4.00 looks like iommi

  • My favourite Saxon song

  • One of my favorite Saxon songs. That guitar solo has been burned into my brain since the first time I heard it. Makes me a little sad to think that was 25 years ago. What I wouldn't give to relive those days....

  • I saw Saxon with The Scorpians and Quiet Riot in the 80's on tour. Saxon stole the show. The Scorpians were good, Quiet Riot kind of stunk.

  • This lineup can not and will no ever be topped. Holly smokes what a band.

  • Heaven will include a Saxon gig at any time. They are the best metal band ever that never made it big.

  • Dallas 1pm, the best song of their best album, Strong Arm of the Law. Essential for anybody's record/DC collection. If you're interested in discovering Saxon, start here.

  • Best intro ever.....

  • These guy,s were kicking ass in the 80's, seen them live many times

  • Fan F'n Tastic....To Cool Man...this is jamming...Hell yeah

    Rock my Soul.....

  • SOLO IS FANTASTIC

  • saw them at bingley hall stafford in the 80 s bloody ace

  • One of the MOST UNDERRATED BANDS TO EVER GRACE THE FACE OF THIS EARTH....SAXON ETERNAL...FUCKING EPIC! \m/

  • One of the greatest songs ever by one of the greatest bands ever and teaching history on the side.Fuck if history class was like this back in school I wouldn't have skipped out so much or fell asleep-hell I might have even been to class on time and actually passed American history!!Saxon fucking rules and if you disagree your in the wrong fucking place man!!

  • My favorite solo from way back!

  • Still one of my favourite Saxon tunes, and dammit there are so fu***** many of them, but chances are if u are watching this vid, u have gr8 taste like me and u already know what an awesome British metal band this is! :o)

  • The best, saxon was one of the strongest bands of 80`s metal. Very good song.

  • Saxon looking back at Kennedy's assination...history from one of the top notch metal bands to come out of the UK. I was ten years old when JFK was assinated, but I still rsmember that day . Other than Iron Maiden, where do we find true history in metal? Great song...legendary band.

  • @bugeyes455858 maybe judas priest and sabbath?

  • so 80's and really cool !!!

  • wow i remember the maiden tour with saxon ,saxon blew them off the stage that tour

  • Amazing tribute to JFK !!!

This song will always be epic in the heavy metal history !!!

  • Great Song

  • Comment removed

  • This song is haunting and a fucking epic in the history of heavy metal.

  • @Hedbergz ...absolutely mate ......

  • Saxon, Iron Maiden, Motörhead And Tygers Of Pan Tang Is The Best Bands 80 Metal

  • the man had a great voice rock on biff

  • Quality british band rock GODS

  • Moustaches rule........bring back the Mo!!!

  • The clothes are pretty bad. Only Dawson looks the part, great pounding track tho. Biff's strides are the worst, oh dear...he had the ugliest arse in metal....

  • No past tense here Gonzoidz, he "has" the ugliest arse in metal.... these guys still ROCK!

  • Biff Byford>Bruce Dickinson

  • Yes sir. The Long Beach Arena IS the house of metal, and on the '83 tour at least, Saxon carried the day. This song doesn't sound a bit dated; soulful as hell.

  • Long Beach Arena is definitely one of the greatest in the world. I went there from Portland for the first time in Feb.85 to see two sold out Deep Purple shows and it started everything for me and travelling to shows.

Stop, get out!!!!!!!!!!! Long live Saxon!

  • Saxon absolutely rules. They need to come to California. The last time I saw these guys was back in the late 80's. It's hard to beat the Maiden/Saxon/Fastway tour of '83.

  • yes sir British metal onslought

  • Perfect!

  • 38decembers, right on dude you took the words right out of my mouth even lives in the UK were rocked by Kennedys death.

  • Awesome song!

  • awsum live people,,,,,,first saw em in 81

  • The man who thinks the lyrics are a little cheesy threw his metal albums away because his wife made him?Are you serious?Your a bit cheesy.Saxon wrote a killer song about something that affected a lot of people around the world.Their from the U.K. and still it made enough impact on them to haven written it.And yeah stokecityfc66 is right-it's blown away,I guess he wasn't forced to throw his collection away.HORNS FUCKEN' UP FOR SAXON!!!!!

  • i'll second that! lol

  • too true top comment

  • saxons finest still sounds awesome now this track gave me serious neckache !

  • Thanks very much! :)

  • The lyrics arent cheesey. They tell a good story. What makes these guys so good is thier ability to capture that thick Marshall sound out of thier amps and onto vynl. (back in the day) Also the harmonies of the guitar players really made the music grove. The drums on this song really drive the song home. The beat rocks with a metal heart!!

  • its blown away actually

  • @Grimior00 i agree, totally awsome and unique were saxon, i saw them twice in the 80s loved em propper heavy metal band not your commercial rot thats about today, prob only aerosmith n guns n roses around today that could give that propper sound,,,, hale the valve amps :)

  • @Grimior00 ...you got that spot on sir........sorry its a year late......but Saxon are the best live band i have ever had the pleasure of seeing...they really made you part of the gig..Biff is an awesome frontman

  • Great song, lyrics are a bit weak and cheesy, but that's what you get with most Saxon songs. Saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon in '81 or '82 and they were awesome. I haven't heard this song for a decade or more since my wife made me get rid of a lot of my metal LP's - they'd probably be worth a fortune nowadays.

  • She made you get rid of your metal lp's? Just hearing those words are painful :-( I'm a collector, and yes, some of the rare ones would be worth something.

  • Your wife "made" you throw out your albums? Goddamn, that's some pussy whipping right there.

  • You have obviously never been married, women tend to be jealous of the things closest to a blokes heart. They have an unhinged need to to the centre of everything.

wiseguy43 is prob just a normal feller dealing with the issues most women carry with them...

  • I've got a question out of curiousity, what is the general age range of Saxon fans? And is it more male or female, cause I'm a new fan, 19 years old and a girl fan. and wanted to see if there were others my own age who liked them too, cause no one from where I live knows of them.

  • 19years old too and a huge fan, saw em live this past month at Rocklahoma absolutely amazing a 25hour drive from California but worth it!

  • Awesome! i bet they rocked so good! 25 hour drive is definitly worth it. Glad you got to see them. :) I want to see them too someday. :)

  • This is the best song by the best british metal band and i have been a fan for all 30 years

  • The best...

  • What happened to Graham Oliver & Steve Dawson?

  • Mystifier. Steve Dawson has a Pine Warehouse/business in Rotherham. We got a full compliment of stuff from him for our wedding in 1994, it's damn good stuff....just like their materiel. Seen them 3 times in the 80's and will def be there on the next one!

  • Thanks for the info. Only seen them once, way back in '83. Loved that lineup but they're still great now.

  • They now have a band called Oliver-Dawson Saxon.

  • This live show is recorded in Almeria, Spain in the Crusader tour

  • Totally agree with you ..george1, they truly are a cracking live act. Saw them in Bristol a few weeks ago with Doro as support. Doro also duetted on 747 Strangers In The Night.

  • my favorite saxon song long live the great band saxon saw them in vegas fu-king awesome

  • If you love metal you have to Love Saxon!!

  • met these boys back in 1980 at m1 service station,,,current base players tim nibbs carter from my town GRIMSBY

  • Legendary 80ish Rockband. Still listen to "Strong arm of the Law" and "Wheels of Steel".

  • AWESOME LIVE SHOW.

  • Biff has gotten more pussy than any of you will ever get, just read his book he tells about it!!!!!!!!

  • I used my first leather jacket and over jean with this wave.

    I LOVE HEAVY METAL ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • great band ¡¡ and great sound¡¡ gretings from argentina

  • Bl**dy love this song and what got me into SAXON !!!

Can't wait for the April gig in London !!!

  • Ha the guitarist's visor is hilarious. Great band though.

  • Saxon Saxon

  • saxon are NOT glam metal in any sense! they are pure rock.......in fact, they're so old they've now fossilised but they're still cool. go Biff!!

  • The clothes are very 80's and do look a bit glam as did most metal bands of the day. Exmple Scorpions. Striped spandex and big hair. Twisted sister were GLAM. Saxons muzic was never glam but with Biff wearing all white and the headbands and red loverboy looking pants they could have eaxily been mistaken for a glam band if one didnt hear the music and just saw this video. They look completely metalnow intheir old age.Black leather and long hair. They still rock.

  • Saxon is a story for NwoBHm....

    and this is Hard'n'Heavy,

not only rock or only heavy...

    sorry for my english XD

  • heavy metal thunder rocking the bastard nations like a load of geeks

  • motherf**** great song!

  • another great song!

  • it was lincoln not a caddy wsilly git

  • no me cansare nunca de esuchar este temazo, vaya comienzo de concierto!

  • Wore the same clothes then.

    That's not glam ,that's 86' fashion.

That's what it was, as I said, then!

  • That was kickass!

  • One of the best songs ever.Saxon rocks!

  • my fav saxon song thanks for posting.

  • amo el heavy metal de toda la vida

    yaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for adding this!

Seeing this in 2008 they truly dressed like fools, but "make no mistake": Even today this holds up!

It´s a brilliant track from a great band. On the lyrical side Saxon was one of the best bands of the NWOBHM and this is in my humble opinion their Masterpiece!

  • dressed like fools? what the hell are you talking about man? they are dressed perfectly !!! especially Biff !!! this stlyle (not music)is called Glam fucking metal at its greatest !!! the best style ever !!!

  • saxon aint glam u moron.

u cant compare this and vixen or motley crue.

this is heavy metal. its the motorhead/judas priest class

  • you have to understand that the term glam describes the style and the appearance, not the music. glam metal's sound is basically hard rock, heavy metal and some pop metal. when i said glam metal i meant this amazing appearance you see at this video

  • i know what glam is.

hair teasing and the rest of the shit.

saxon is not glam dont say crap dude. this has got nothing to do with glam stop inventing crap. saxon and motorhead and judas priest are all pure heavy metal and theres no appearance to it. leather perhaps and the jackets with patches. but saxon is fucking not glam dude

  • i've already said all i had to say. there's no point in repeating ourselves. i mentioned glam as a copliment to saxon, because i love glam's style and lifestyle and i think of it as something extremely positive. if you think it's negative, it's your problem man, i don't care

  • Old but still good. I used to have this on tape ;-) I also prefer to categorise this as metal, rather than rock.

  • really...wtf? how did we let this get away.....nothing we have today compares

  • I can't fuckin explain how I love this band!!!!! :DDD

  • it`s only rock n´roll but i like it !!!!!!!!!

  • I have to back ajsz08 on this one, unhappy Frenchy does knock every Saxon video on YouTube. This guy has Billy Idol and Tom Waits stored in his favorites, he's obviously at the wrong show here. I couldn't imagine watching Tom Waits videos all day and leaving neg. comments. Frenchy is sad and unhappy in life and he seems to use YouTube as a way to vent his anger. Feel better about yourself Frenchy and then this band Saxon wouldnt bother you so much.

  • Saxon blows todays music scene away. The Blink 182's - Manson - Green Days don't hold a candle to this type of music or style.

  • FRENCHY5150 you have no class and a faggy user name to boot why dont you shut your trap you fucking poodle

  • Lets be fair. We're all here for the same reason. No need to be nasty. He'd be your best mate at a gig.

  • m666ort what are you saying? i am a true fan! FRENCH POODLE dissed this band on all of the videos, you be his mate if you want...i think you are confused

  • Aaahhh, the riffs, the headbands , the trousers. Great back then, hilarious now.

  • Lets be fair - since when have the french been in a position to criticise anything in rock music? What did they ever contribute? Dont worry Frenchy, there are still plenty of us Brits to flood across the channel the next time you run away with your hands up. Now thats pathetic.

  • great then,,,great today,,great tomorrow!saxon stands for quality and stand tall metal!frenchy ya hilarous and pathetic!!

  • saw ozzy with jake e lee and original vh line up at us fest

  • yeah but biff byford is in the real SAXON and they rule , ods are not worth listening to.

  • That's a load of crap - they are every bit as relevant - they have two of the main writers of all the classics that the Biff Byford show performs and they kick as much ass!

  • The sound of applause!!!

  • yeah but thats all over now , saxon have been back to winning ways since 1990 , amazing live band and one of the greatest, theyr on tour with motorhead in uk 2008 in november, new ep out same time , new album january 2009 , i cant wait.

  • It's so sad that Saxon got into more commercial styles, like what happened with other NWOBHM bands like Diamond Head and SPECIALLY Def "Pop" Leppard

  • awesome, used to be one of my fav bands back in 70's-80's ... don't make em like this anymore.

  • Man, Aint That The Truth Brother!!!

  • They sound great live!

  • dont be fooled by this performance or their clothing, this was in spain 1985 bad management tried to get them to appeal to the mtv and usa bubblegum rock market, but saxon rock harder now in 2008 than they ever did theyr still one of the hottest live bands on the planet, new album out in a few months, listen to their lionheart cd , you will know what i mean then, amazing metal band.
