Really nice sentiments Rob, moving tribute. Steve has been a hero and inspiration for me, kind of reminds me of my dad who also died from cancer so really brought back memories. All today I have been quite tearful. RIP Steve
@khisanth75 I really was not going to make a video on this, but I had noticed many down right nasty and disrespectful comments on several videos about his passing from so called "PC fanboys" that I had had enough. I wanted to show that even someone who was in no way a APPLE fan or supporter could give an honest opinion and summary about Steve Jobs while still being respectful and giving credit where it is due. Again, as an avid PC user I was really appalled and ashamed about several comments.
@khisanth75 , I know it is typical fanboy/troll fodder but damn you do yourself no favor behaving like that no matter if you support Apple or Steve Jobs vision or not. Now, I was glad I did post my thoughts, I received many positive and supportive comments and hopefully showed some "hardcore PC enthusiast" how to behave.
@MaximumRD fanboyism can be taken too far. I am a big Windows user and fan, but I left the childish fanboy arguments back in the playground. Light hearted banter about your chosen device/platform is fine, but when people start to attack people or insult them then thats just plain wrong. I use both Windows and Apple, but I respect peoples views. if they dont like Apple or dont like Windows, thats fine.
@MaximumRD I am glad you made the video, people listen to you and respect your opinions (i certainly do!) so I think you will have achieved want you wanted to do.
On a Hackintosh - I actually ended up installing OSX 10.4.11 on my Acer Travelmate 292LMi and Dell Optiplex GX270 but ended up Linuxing those when 10.4.11 became stale and OS X moved on.
Loved to tinker with OS X on regular PCs just as a challenge.
My father in law bought an Android Pad and demoed all the features. I thought WOW! Took a look at Windows 7 pads and found them mweh..... And ended up buying an iPad 2 just by comparing the experience.
56 is far too young. My condolences to Steve Job's family, friends and the people at Apple. I use Apple products but am no fanboy and there is no denying that Steve Jobs has had a huge influence on today's consumer technology and not only that but also with Pixar on the lives of millions enjoying those animated movies.
Steve Jobs was a visionary and just look at the new ' intelligent ' assistent on the iPhone 4S that is coming out. Apple equals Forefront innovation!
a very fitting tribute..well done..to hear it from the other side of computing system users..this simply proves the influence Steve Jobs had on the world, plus let's not forget , he helped Atari product one of the best ball and bat games out there , the classic "Breakout" and rose PIXAR from the ashes too...incredible individual Steve Jobs was..RIP..
Well said Rob. Whether people are Apple fans or not, there is no denying that Steve Jobs push the boundaries of the technology frontiers. I feel we needed people like him in the Juxta position to push competitors to raise the bar and force them to keep up and innovate. I feel it is a sad day for those of us who love technology. He will go down in history.
You know I've always said I never cared for apple products myself, I've always said that they are overpriced "Fad" devices, but if you really think about it, as long as the user who is using said product is happy, then that device has completed it's task. At the same time I have also never owned an apple product either. But the fact that Job's has left us is sad. He did great things and I guarantee the world of tech would be VERY different without Steve.
This just proves that all the money in the world and a liver from the chinese organ trade won't save your life...when its your time , It your time. Sad but true!
Great video Rob, I'm not an Apple fan too. But I do respect Mr Jobs for his contribution to the computing world, and his great personality. He introduced personal computers in the 70s.. and i wouldn't be here typing this message to you if it wasn't because of him.. RIP Mr. Jobs
I just learned this news from your video. I also am not an Apple fan and don't use any of their products. But he did some good things and helped out not only Apple but the whole industry so he deserves credit for that.
He was one in a billion. I think Apple will still do well, since he has instilled his values in to the company culture.
Likewise I'm not an Apple user, but I can't deny they have led the industry for most of the 21st century. Android would not be what it is today without the iPhone. It would probably still be keypad-based.
Check out apple.com, they have a minimalistic tribute which fits perfectly.
Atarileaf brings up an interesting point. I'll be the Apple 2 prices go through the roof. I mean the same thing happened to Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
But this is really unfortunate news :/ its the kind of thing that a lot of people saw coming, but nobody wanted it to. Good video rob
You've just revealed to me the news. Sad news indeed, I want to watch again the movie pirates of siliconvalley because the young Steve Jobs is really inspiring.
@amigagames He's an important part of Apple history, sure, but not the face of it as Jobs was. Its just a theory anyway. Oh, and don't call me Shirley.
When i first heard about his passing, I couldn't help but think about all the contributions he made to the PC and electronic world. Not a fan of modern Apple products either. I liked the commercials a lot too. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.
Wow, I had no idea until I saw your video. Very sad. What a revolutionary mind. Even though I'm not an Apple enthusiast, I do appreciate what he did and his contributions to the computer industry (and phones, tablets, MP3 players, etc) RIP Steve Jobs.
Sure is a dam shame but no surprise,he left a legacy behind that most cant compete with and you cant deny that he changed the world quite a bit.

I wonder if this will really drive up the prices for old Apple computers just as the Apple II and early Mac's.
