It seemed after iPad was shipped, HP decided to go back to the drawing board by purchasing the talents at Palm for WebOS. This gives them access to some of Apple's engineering DNA in the form of Jon Rubinstein, ex-VP of HW engineering at Apple.
They are starting from scratch. Will be an uphill battle. Good luck to HP.

Why are you not changing the resolution to something other than 600x800? Or change the orientation from 90 or 270 degrees to Standard? It's in System Preferences > Displays.

That's a foolish assertion. You've already qualified the CPU to be a dual core faster clocked processor. And yet, you'd claim a 1 GHz processor machine would be faster.
Fraud in the market place would not last. Certanly, practicing fraud would not propell a company past Microsoft in value. Your qualifications of Macs are nothing more than bitching in the face of reality because you cannot accept change.

@arijitpanin Try a little harder at reading comprehension and you'd realize whether Core Duo or Core 2 Duo, they are both dual core processors (a generic term). And they are both technically faster than a 1GHz processor on the market. Try reading comprehension first before attempting to express contempt. Otherwise, you are doing the mental equivalent of stepping on a rake from the rake end. Good luck.

I personally would rather a macbook pro. I own an ipod touch and it pretty much does exactly the same. I think this is good for the elderly and the disabled because of its size and simplicity, but other than that this thing is no good.

@GamingUnited503 the ability to read books and watch movies on a huge touchscreen is awesome but i agree with you its not as special as people are trying to make it out to be at least not for the price. $400 should be the max price on one of these ranging down to $200 for the lower end models. If i spend more than $400 i would rather buy a freaking laptop with sprint's 4G super fast mobile hotspot because then I'll get way way more bank for my buck.

@kazper333 you go to almost any ipad review and they make comparisons to laptops and netbooks. i already have an itouch so if i wanted to read books, browse the net, watch movies, listen to music which they are heavily pushing i would just buy a laptop.

@username2153 It's more about not letting a 3rd party proprietary sw dictate the direction of a key feature in their platform - especially when Adobe had allowed Flash to lag behind on the Mac vs Flash on Windows for years. It's still slow and crashes frequently.
When a proprietary standard is unkind to your platform, you change to an open standard when you can - like HTML5. Even youtube has a beta HTML5 version.

Why are you not changing the resolution to something other than 600x800? Or change the orientation from 90 or 270 degrees to Standard? It's in System Preferences > Displays.

That's a foolish assertion. You've already qualified the CPU to be a dual core faster clocked processor. And yet, you'd claim a 1 GHz processor machine would be faster.
Fraud in the market place would not last. Certanly, practicing fraud would not propell a company past Microsoft in value. Your qualifications of Macs are nothing more than bitching in the face of reality because you cannot accept change.

@arijitpanin Try a little harder at reading comprehension and you'd realize whether Core Duo or Core 2 Duo, they are both dual core processors (a generic term). And they are both technically faster than a 1GHz processor on the market. Try reading comprehension first before attempting to express contempt. Otherwise, you are doing the mental equivalent of stepping on a rake from the rake end. Good luck.

I personally would rather a macbook pro. I own an ipod touch and it pretty much does exactly the same. I think this is good for the elderly and the disabled because of its size and simplicity, but other than that this thing is no good.

@GamingUnited503 the ability to read books and watch movies on a huge touchscreen is awesome but i agree with you its not as special as people are trying to make it out to be at least not for the price. $400 should be the max price on one of these ranging down to $200 for the lower end models. If i spend more than $400 i would rather buy a freaking laptop with sprint's 4G super fast mobile hotspot because then I'll get way way more bank for my buck.

@kazper333 What is the iPad's main selling points? watching movies, using the internet, and reading books right? well these are all the things you can do on a laptop with spending the same amount of money yet having a better experience. this is nothing but a glorified itouch. As you stated the ipad is a cross between an ipod touch and a netbook so naturally your going to compare the differences of a netbook and itouch especially since there aren't but a few tablets out right now.

@username2153 It's more about not letting a 3rd party proprietary sw dictate the direction of a key feature in their platform - especially when Adobe had allowed Flash to lag behind on the Mac vs Flash on Windows for years. It's still slow and crashes frequently.
When a proprietary standard is unkind to your platform, you change to an open standard when you can - like HTML5. Even youtube has a beta HTML5 version.
