Maybe it's just me, but I think Other Father sounds sad in this song. While you're watching the movie, his voice seems to come across as much more perky and cheerful, especially as it fits in with the visuals -- but with only the vocals playing, it sounds like he's actually singing quite softly. I think it's the way he stresses "she's as cute as a button"; he's trying so hard to get Coraline to understand what he's really saying to her...
