Hi! I’m a researcher with Indigo Films working on the show Full Force Nature for the Weather Channel. We’re interested in your footage of the Flaming Lips Stage collapse in bad weather… would love to chat. Thanks so much!
@djtimwright cuz everyone knows that only fools take video suggestions and if you dont search for "flaming lips stage crashes down" then youre just a mindless zombie
40 days plus of 100 degree weather..One day with and outside show BAM 100 mph winds...ahhh the reason I moved from OKC to Ca.. Now Caleb and the gang is gonna have to fix all that stuff. But hey at least the got the raindow gaff arrows on stage taped down to show you which way to enter/exit are.. :)
Wow you can actually see Wayne Coyne trying to hold the LED screen up as it falls down. If he had been standing a couple of feet over he might have been crushed by it.
This storm was sudden and terrifying. Afternoon started out with a 30% chance of rain. Nobody mentioned 100% chance of monsoon! It was really scary there. Went by later at night to see the Lips crew loading their damaged equipment. Sad stuff. I drove 5 hours to see the Flaming Lips, but at least I got a nice visit with Wayne Coyne the next day at his new art gallery in OKC.
the back wall blew out with some lights on it-def not a stage collapse..not saying u couldnt have gotten hurt..but nothing close to the cheap trick nightmare..
I was there. I almost got pinned my the Wall that fell down because I ran over to help hold down one of the tents that was about to fly away and then a whole box of stuff started to blow away and I went and chased it down and was about 2 or 3 feet away when that thing came down...
hope everybody is ok and no injuries....at least it blew back and not into the audience...and the scaffolding held. Maybe the screen is the last thing to go up when weather is questionable because it was the first thing to come down.

Wayne Coyne in lower left side in pink shirt and tie. The wind gust blew down telephone poles nearby.

Thankfully no one was hurt. Also, thankfully, it happened near the Lips' home base.
