I don't know about you, but when I need to have someone replace my windows, I want to see the GOODS and the WORKMANSHIP, and not former customers faces. We're supposed to reply on strangers' claims and opinions??? To me, this indicates a business that is out-of-touch with customers' needs, and is a red flag to steer clear.... Yikes.
My husband and I had our window replaced last summer. We also wanted to stick with the original look. We were absolutely amazed during how much the new window helped with our gas bill during the winter months. It was actually pretty incredible!
My husband and I love old homes -- our home is a 1920 bungalow -- and we really like everything to look as original as possible. The place we rented before buying our house was a 1914 duplex, and had high quality but inappropriate replacement windows. I hated the way it looked, so I can definitely see the value of replacement windows that look original! Thanks for the information -- if we ever replace our windows, this is probably the route we'll go!
While I don't own a home yet, it's good to know that there are replacement window companies out there that know what they're doing. I'm going to pass this on to some friends of mine...
I'm really tired of people who promise they can deliver but don't. I don't care if they charge a lot as long as they get the job done right. Renewal by Andersen looks good. Will definitely look into a consultation soon.
This video really describes the personal experience of this couple when getting their windows replaced. The installation is definitely the most important aspect of the job, and I wouldn't trust myself to do it. Best to hire a professional.
I've worked on remodels and have had companies come in and replace windows. There is something to be said about installers that do the job right. When they install the job like it was their own home, you know you are getting the best deal you can!

I love my old houses, and replacements can be a tough thing to get done right. Good to know someone 'gets' it!
