This is one of the best instrumental tracks ever made, but i do love Kalied, the b-side to Policy of Truth. That tune has got this tripped out, going on a journey into cyber space, sort of vibe. It's an amazing tune.
Such a great tune...Makes me feel old....I'll leave in silence, but then again i enjoy the silence, ok, ill admit, im telling stories of old, maybe you wanna tell me a story?, don't make them Blasphemous Rumours though..
@Honzarezna lol the story is that when clarke left he took the fairlight with him so martin got some shity synth might be the yamaha cs5 and made home made stickers that said "fairlite" and put them on it as a joke haha :D
love them now and then ...but i feel they were more optimistic back than ...just an opinion ....a personal one of course ... love to all of you depechers allover the world
i love those times.... its better than today... its a kinda reverse... its modern back those days and more of fashion and quality of music than today... i simply love it..
@Jeromepsy001 i still think he is miming, allen seems to be playing the exact same part, plus more, that fletch is, i think andy is most useless bandmember ever, he didnt write, barely played, and actually didnt sing, he just showed up for photo opts and the paycheck.. if i was allen i would be pissed too he didnt get the recognition he deserved, he actually played better than martin..he just didnt happen to write the songs, tho he did write a few good ones
@gypsyboi76 I still think that andy could play, he wouldn't even be part of speak and spell if they knew in the future that he was just gonna bum around, I guess he wasn't really an artist. I thought allan created this awesome instrumental but I remembered he wasn't part of broken frame production.
@metallibanger worse than the Ultra and Exciter years??? I hate to admit it but I fell asleep at the show(Ultra tour Seattle) woke up just in time for just cant get enough----i tell you what ----no way i would have slept through this song!!!! gotta love Mode last time (summer 2010 Seattle) they killed it --nobody was sleepin'---lol
They were taking a jab at Vince Clarke who had just left the band and sunk a huge chunk of cash to buy a Fairlight. That was Martin's cheapest synth he did it to. Purposely misspelled it Fairlite.
twenty - five years after i heard it for the first time it is still fresh !!!great intro for the Sundays DM concert I am going to.All the best for DM fans!!
No Alan did joined the band at the time, but he did not participated to the making of the album. Dave, Martin & Fletch wanted to prove themselves that they were able to make one without Vince Clarke.
@raid0422 indeed look at Fletcher at 1:09-1:22, he does the bass sound manually lol. I guess they didn`t do secuencers because of polyphony limits or stuff like that, I don`t think they had the best synths there.
for me, this is the best concert they ever done...these vidéos are very rare (of all concert), and the CD they come from too... a litlle marvelous pearl !!!! Thanks from me, i'm very happy to see this on youtube!!
The 80s(and maybe the 90s) is the Golden Age of Music(as exemplified by this masterpiece by DM)...It started to get crappy(eg with rubbish by Jonas Bros masquerading as "music")from the early 2000s onwards...sigh...

Depeche Mode still lacks Alan Wilder's producing touch in my opinion. After he left a vital part of them was missing.
He was truly an underappreciated member of the band. Him and Martin Gore together were dynamite.
