The matter of "naturalness" is more complicated than you think...
What seems just OK to you today may be the most beautiful, inspired and natural performance... and vice versa - what you consider brilliant and attractive is nothing more than shallow and mundane piano playing. You may change your opinion in a while, so don't rush to judge.
Excellent technique and there's a lot to like about his playing, but at the same time it's frustrating as heck that he exaggerates the tempos. If the purpose is to create greater contrast between sections, it's unnecessary. Still, it's good to discover such a musician.
This Mozart reminds me of Bashkirov's very interesting and creative ideas on Mozart's piano music as he discussed them during a masterclass some time ago.
A lot of attention to tempo, bringing out harmony and left hand lines, how to play bows and phrases, the quality of the forte (never harsh), and no fear to play it with "Romantic" expression...
Ok playing, just that the tempo is just... unnatural to this piece

Enchanting playing. Probably be shredded by contemporary critics for taking liberties, but I really enjoyed this. TY What is date of recording?

@truecrypt TY Did he record earlier? Everything I've heard seems to sound like it's from the same period.

Yes, of course. Gust google "samuil feinberg discography" - the very first link will get you to the list of his recordings with dates.

Not unsurprisingly, Bashkirov was Feinberg's student (if I remember correctly).
