It was NOT Gorbachev "a sharp agricultural innovator" but Fyodor Kulakov: Gorbachev did well only when he followed Kulakov's directions; Gorbachev instead was an absolute failure in agriculture both in Stavropol and in Moscow! Please remember that "Gorbachev myth" has been created in the West and it belongs only to the West! Had not been for Andropov Gorby would still be in Stavropol fixing bananas!! =)

This was not the first time that Gorbachev met Brehznev. Gorbachev had a long history of working in Moscow and they met many times.
