  • Keyboard? ;) nice

  • Kick Azz

  • it was brutal close i say, realy brutal my boys

  • Uh, I just wanted him to tell me a couple more times how close the race was. Just brutal, brutally, brutally excruciatingly close! Jesus...

  • Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross always do really amazing covers in their scores. Especially their cover with Karen O of the Immigrant Song for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

  • studying for my exam with this !

  • So that's why Inception didn't win "best soundtrack"...

  • @mrkeykeyboard And partly, because Empire magazine sounded that the Inception soundtrack had the dark knight gloomingly hanging over it...

  • this song makes me think of a fight of a Clown

  • Insane man laughing at the world nuking itself to oblivion

  • Perfect music for the build-up to a zombie apocalypse.

  • @snowpup4 The band is called Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

    .

  • CAN EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP ABOUT INCEPTION AND THE SOCIAL NETWORK OSTS! GOD!

  • @MegaKishi But The Social Network Score won an Oscar and the Inception score was nominated for an Oscar so why are you surprised that everyone goes on about it?

  • @MegaKishi ppl talk cuz it was a bit unfair that the Inception OST didn't won the oscar , :/ so..ppl will talk xD

  • awesome

  • when i heard this song, a friend danced with her feet to it and i laughed soo loud and long :D (and sorry for my english)

  • love this !!

  • I <3 this track ,and The Harley sequence too !

  • Ths piece was made in the pening of the 83rd academy awards!

  • The Winklevi...

  • I think its funny in the movie when Edwardo, instead of saying Winklevosses, says Winklevi.......lol

  • <3

  • the guy's a the prince of a country the size of Nantucket, relax.

  • Damn Wiklevos!

  • I would love to hear more popular classical songs reworked by Trent.

  • I was trying to find this particular soundtrack for so long!!!

  • HARVARD rowing against NETHERLANDS.

  • Everytime i hear this music, i feel like i am writting an exam.Like "entering exam hall" then sitting on my seat, seeing the question paper, and then writting answers(music speeds up) and then in end writting faster because time is running out and finally complete my exam in last moment!! :D

  • @kingaman20 And when I read that, I picture Armie Hammer.

  • @kingaman20 And... your life flashes before your eyes????????

  • why does everyone say this was there favorite scene? they were rowing- not that interesting!

  • @RoadSideCircusM77 For me, this scene makes rowing interesting. I love how the combination of imagery and music captures the feeling and emotion of the competition, placing the viewer in the head of the Harvard team as they desperately surge forward only to lose by less than a single boat's length. The scene is a change of pace in the movie, and captures the sense that for this moment, nothing else in the world matters to the brothers. And they still lose. Foreshadowing the agony of defeat.

  • @jonathansfox yeah, that a fantastic argument, but....ITS STILL JUST ROWING i still think this music is insainly good though

  • @jonathansfox I think that's the greatest thing about this soundtrack, they did such a great job collaborating the emotions of both the scenes and the music.

  • @RoadSideCircusM77 Because it has this music

  • @campolar well played

  • Aaron Sorkin is a plagiarist. He stole THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT and THE WEST WING from William Richert and Kyle Morris.

    See my channel for evidence.

  • hmmm...this unoriginal track won best original soundtrack. fuck the academy inception rules

  • @ghoward779 inception is garbage

  • @ghoward779 this song didnt win the soundtrack did...

  • @ghoward779 the song may not be original, but the way it is done is.

  • @ghoward779 Thats really disappointing, the original score for this film was very good and very suiting, but the score by Hans Zimmer, seriously made the intensity of that movie which is what everyone loved, i didn't know about the academy thing... Cheers

  • this doesn't get my heart pumping two times faster like the original does.

  • THIS song is AWESOME

  • iM DRUNK !!!!!

  • This soundtrack?

    Miniture-made rowing scene. Amazing.

  • Brilliant.

  • So this is why it won...

  • Row! Row! Row! Row! Row! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Heck It; we've lost!

  • do u think that mark zuckerberg had put the whole soundtrack on his i-pod and he is listening to it the whole day ????

  • i think its rediculus to call this original

  • @hansw15 No one is. By that reasoning you could say that the Inception soundtrack shouldn't be nominated because of Edith Piaf's "Non, je ne regrette rien."

  • @BlackAppendix but it won an oscar for best original soundtrack

  • @BlackAppendix and right now i have no idea what you are talking about. i only mean that to call this original is a mockery of the original becouse just about everyone with a remix program can do this

  • @hansw15 Uh, no they can't. And one track off the OST doesn't make the whole thing unoriginal. Inception took the French song, remember? That wasn't original either.

  • @DancingTableLeg but the ting is that this song won the oscar

  • @hansw15 No it didn't.

  • @DancingTableLeg Yes it did

  • @campolar You... Obviously didn't even watch the Oscars. The Social Network soundtrack has almost 20 tracks. This is just one. The SOUNDTRACK won the Oscar, not just this song. Either quit trolling or actually get your facts straight.

  • @DancingTableLeg I did watch the oscars, ALL OF IT FYI!

A "soundtrack" won the oscar, and "if you have hapenned to watch it" you would remember this was played when the winner was announced!

  • @campolar Just because it played doesn't mean the award was for this song in particular. 19 tracks, remember?

  • @hansw15

I think this goes back to the old saying about "it's not the story you tell, it's how you tell it." In other words, I think what they've done here is take a classic melody and revamped it with a lot of originality and subtlety; there's more skill at play in this remix than most people could manage with a remix program at home. For instance, the discordant droning that begins at 1:53 isn't in the original composition; it's been added to fit the dramatic situation in the film.

  • @hansw15 I don't see anyone denying that.

  • "Magic trolls are everywhere, everywhere, everywhere... Magic trolls are everywhere, your wishes might come true...!"

  • Really a close race. Really, a quite terribly close race. The closest race I've seen in years! Really quite awfully close. A very close race, boys.

  • @osiris0413 Let's gut the nerd.

  • easily the best song on the social network soundtrack. i think hans zimmer deserved the win, but this is a good song

  • ye i got a really good adaptation of a classical piece and it showed the upper "classness" of the twins with classical music and the rowing club in contrast to zuckerburg middle class and nerdy

  • fucking intense, genius

  • Congrats to Trent Reznor and to Atticus Ross winning a Oscar!

  • When was this played in the movie?

  • @SkISl0pE when the twin brothers were having boat race for their school at Olympic Festival.

  • The Rowing scene!

  • this is seriously one of my favourite ost's everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and its definitly the best scene in the movie

  • my favorite part of the movie

  • 2 ppl have ears disorder

  • at first i thought this is the Inspector gadget theme.. Never knew there were a score this great!

  • This scene by far is my personal favorite scene in the movie. The funny thing is the scene could have been cut out entirely from the film. Maybe its just me but I think this subtlety captures Fincher's exeriance when it comes to filming. He is infamous for taking the same takes over and over and over again in every possible way, and I personally do not think he ever quite gets there. He instead has to settle for close. Just brutally close.

  • @Kasinator009 haha. i almost missed that

  • @Kasinator009

I think it was to show the point in the story where the twins metaphorically and literally lost the race/when the one twin finally gives in to suing, which goes with what was said about "them not being able to handle not having something handed over to them". Instead of having them just come in and say "oh we lost a race", this is a far better way of showing how crushing their defeats are to them. Just my opinion but I thought this scene was entirely necessary. =P

  • 2:03. jizz in my pants.

  • @LocoRomanza 2:16. even more epic.

  • Brutally close, just brutal.

  • The way the music is coordinated with the motions of the scene is incredible. The increasing volume and pace of the piece also adds to its dark drama. Absolutely amazing. :D

  • last 20 secs are so amazing.

  • 0 people should die! x)

  • Such a bloody close race!

  • @metafact - haha, nice!

  • @metafact Brutally close.

  • @metafact excrutiatingly close!

  • one of the best scenes to watch, i enjoyed this movie soo much, great work by David Fincher never seems to disappoint me

  • Perfect cover of In the hallway of the mountain king. Ties in absolutely PERFECT with the visuals, especially the end when in cuts into the prize giving.

  • Great version of a classic piece!

  • best song from the movie

  • @KrionStudio agreed
