I'll always have great respect for Barrera. The way he dismantled Hamed was class. I think if it was not for the cut that got the fight stopped in round 5, this fight could have been very different if it had gone the full distance.

Watched the fight all the way through again and though Barrera was a great fighter, he has no class and no brains.
I defy anyone to tell me that Khan isn't a big puncher at this weight and is a much bigger man than Barrera. His punches must have hurt Barrera who, quite simply, made the mistake of jumping in the deep end with a rising younger fighter.

We'll see if 15 yrs from now Khan is taking on some of the best light heavyweights of his generation and winning. Personally I dont see that happening. Barrera has moved up 6 weight divisions in a 20 yr career for this, and faced some legendary fighters. Khan will never do as much.

Everyone says "khans too quick", but every boxer will take punches to the face. Take the recent match of pacquiao vs margarito. Both fighters (especially margarito) took hard punches to the face. At that level you will get punched, hard.

well to be honest the cut was the most significant factor of the fight. Cos he wudnt have bin able to see Khan very well, imagine trying to block a punch from his left and hitting from his right it wud be very dificult. However, who knows as Khan looked pretty dominant from the start before the cut and it hadnt got as wide in the first round. But no one will know whether Khan wud have kept it up.
But anyway dont diss Barera he was a hero and in his prime Khan wud have been destroyed
