@rpg8778 You don't even understand what a knock-off is. The V-Cube 5 uses a different mechanism than the Rubik's 5x5, thus making it it's own design and not a knock-off. The 6x6 and 7x7 cubes, though, were never made by the Rubik's company and thus aren't knock-offs.

I have 5 guhongs and they are the best 3x3s on the market. They have much different pieces than any cube I have seen. Each edge is 2 pieces put together and re corners are 3 pieces each. The LunHui has their own anti-pop t-pieces that I haven't seen anywhere either.
I don't care about knock offs.. I care about better prices and better turning quality. The lanlan 2x2 is a total KO of an eastsheen but I use i because it's way better.

And if you're going to honestly say that those cubes are rip-offs of the rubiks, then Verdes STOLE, yes, STOLE, the concept of the 5x5 from it's creator Udo Krell, and the owner, Erno Rubik. A lot of cube companies (Most in China) like to stael the patent from V-Cubes. Now, since they're using V-Cubes's patent without permission, and it's their patent to use, shouldn't V-Cubes be allowed to steal the cube back? It's their patent, and if it's popular, it's got to be good. (It's not like Rubik's brand which you can buy phisically in a store) They should be able to adapt the 9x9, 6b and 11x11 (And more?) models.
All these v cubes and rubiks suck compared to todays cubes. This why i will buy a "ko" instead of tje origional cubes. For example i have had 4 Dayans and 3 Lanlans. They are amazing and never pop on me and turn like a dream. But i have at least 12 broken rubiks cubes and i decided i will rather get the more expensive "ko" thab the cheap rubiks cube. Awful video. I understand the high amount of development that goes into these puzzles. The cost of creating a new design, testing it, patenting it, creating machinery to mass-produce it, that all cannot be ignored. Then somebody goes and steals the design, cutting corners off the product and sells it as their own.
I'd gladly pay ten to twenty extra dollars on a puzzle to support the original designers. The ones who brought the puzzle into the world.

Let's just be honest, Vcubes are ok but for the price, the Vcube 6 is just garbage. Why should I spend $30 - $40 on a cube that I have to spend 3 hours modding for it to work decently? A knockoff YJ 6x6 comes pre-modded and is leaps and bounds better than the Vcube out the box. I like Vcubes but their reluctance to release any new products is the nail they are driving in their own coffin. The poor quality of the Vcube 6 FORCED me to purchase the knockoff. Sorry Verdes...
I think the only reason why so many people are buying KO´s is because they are EARLIER to buy, CHEAPER, have mostly he same quality or are just BETTER....

@Mackrekker No, it's a completely different brand (V-Cubes are part of the V-Cube series) and it is MUCH better in quality, as well as build quality. You can't really knock off a Rubik's Cube, though. Unless you do some pretty serious modifications, they will all operate the same.

I just wanted to say, that for those companies like mefferts, v-cube, etc, it would be nice to "come down on earth from the sky" and take into account that millions of cubes could be sold in post soviet-union countries (with population of about half a billion people in total) in the case if they:
1) make prices lower
2) make regional distribution offices in Ukraine, Russia, etc., who would sell them using networks of shops for children and regular markets (and there are A LOT of such shops)

Knock off cubes are interesting, like type A cubes are actually GJ brand cubes, which is a knock off company, Type D is made by YJ, which is a knock off company, even Meffert's 4x4 and 5x5 share the mechanism with the Rubik's brand, so who is in the right there? The deal is that many KO companies put alot of hard work in their cubes so it wouldn't be fair to leave them out of the question, you should just go with the highest quality one, which is normally the genuine, just don't buy a KO to save
well this have 2 sides of the coin to. Every company dealing with this kind of stuff. There is no way around that except harder work from the company to create a better product so the buyer buy from them. If they dont do that so ofcourse buyers looking on other options. So basically it is the companys own faulth that buyers buy a KO instead. Buyers have no need to lick any companyes feet.
By definition almost every cuber has purchased a KO puzzle. And the newest cubers out there have little knowledge about the difference between the KO's and authentics, which will want a cheaper puzzle. So it's good to try and communicate with new individuals. I talked to someone who didn't know that verdes was the original inventor of the 6x6 and 7x7. Largely because some parents don't let their kids surf the internet and China doesn't have youtube.

I understand the high amount of development that goes into these puzzles. The cost of creating a new design, testing it, patenting it, creating machinery to mass-produce it, that all cannot be ignored. Then somebody goes and steals the design, cutting corners off the product and sells it as their own.
I'd gladly pay ten to twenty extra dollars on a puzzle to support the original designers. The ones who brought the puzzle into the world.
And those who wouldn't?

Let's just be honest, Vcubes are ok but for the price, the Vcube 6 is just garbage. Why should I spend $30 - $40 on a cube that I have to spend 3 hours modding for it to work decently? A knockoff YJ 6x6 comes pre-modded and is leaps and bounds better than the Vcube out the box. I like Vcubes but their reluctance to release any new products is the nail they are driving in their own coffin. The poor quality of the Vcube 6 FORCED me to purchase the knockoff. Sorry Verdes...

I think the only reason why so many people are buying KO´s is because they are EARLIER to buy, CHEAPER, have mostly he same quality or are just BETTER....
Just see the Maru 4x4... Verdes dont have a V cube 4 so far...

i bought a original 3x3 Rubik from the brand "jumbo" a german toy company.
It's so tight you almost have to operate it with a wrench.
My point is that a knock off is not always bad quality and a original is not always the quality you would expect.

lightake.com is awesome, you can find many puzzles there. Click magic cube. Shipping may take awhile(around 2-3 weeks) but is free, pyraminx is easier but megaminx is just a glorified 3x3.
yea knockoffs are great they are cheaper and most the time are actually better.

@Mackrekker No, it's a completely different brand (V-Cubes are part of the V-Cube series) and it is MUCH better in quality, as well as build quality. You can't really knock off a Rubik's Cube, though. Unless you do some pretty serious modifications, they will all operate the same.

Hi all.
The author of this video suggests to not buy knock-offs. From the moral point of view he is 100% right.
But let us look at reality in other (not so rich countries). Here in Ukraine (where I live) the salary of a middle-level-manager is $300-$400 per month.
Question: if a person who earns $30 per month sees a cube for $40 at mefferts, and the same KO cube for $4 - how do you think, which puzzle he will buy? (I am not talking about me, I am talking about other 90% of people)

I just wanted to say, that for those companies like mefferts, v-cube, etc, it would be nice to "come down on earth from the sky" and take into account that millions of cubes could be sold in post soviet-union countries (with population of about half a billion people in total) in the case if they:
1) make prices lower
2) make regional distribution offices in Ukraine, Russia, etc., who would sell them using networks of shops for children and regular markets (and there are A LOT of such shops)

Knock off cubes are interesting, like type A cubes are actually GJ brand cubes, which is a knock off company, Type D is made by YJ, which is a knock off company, even Meffert's 4x4 and 5x5 share the mechanism with the Rubik's brand, so who is in the right there? The deal is that many KO companies put alot of hard work in their cubes so it wouldn't be fair to leave them out of the question, you should just go with the highest quality one, which is normally the genuine, just don't buy a KO to save

well this have 2 sides of the coin to. Every company dealing with this kind of stuff. There is no way around that except harder work from the company to create a better product so the buyer buy from them. If they dont do that so ofcourse buyers looking on other options. So basically it is the companys own faulth that buyers buy a KO instead. Buyers have no need to lick any companyes feet.

By definition almost every cuber has purchased a KO puzzle. And the newest cubers out there have little knowledge about the difference between the KO's and authentics, which will want a cheaper puzzle. So it's good to try and communicate with new individuals. I talked to someone who didn't know that verdes was the original inventor of the 6x6 and 7x7. Largely because some parents don't let their kids surf the internet and China doesn't have youtube.
