I'm very disappointed with Michael Ignatieff's opposition to the proposed tax cuts in Stephen Harper's budget. There is credible proof that tax cuts to the middle class not only boost economic activity but are also responsible for creating far more jobs than government programs. Michael Ignatieff's strategy is to pick and choose winners using the resources of the hard working middle class. Michael Ignatieff is an absolute disgrace and is harming middle class canadians.

Lessen the load - Why should hard working middle class canadians be forced to pay for incompetents? Do you enjoy donating 30% of your pay check to bloated government programs?

Wouldn't you be happier if you only had to donate 20%??

It's not that simple. Yes, I'd like to have as much money in pocket as possible as the next guy. But at the same time I understand I live in a society. Without a support system, we'd have nothing, no foundation. People need some level of care. If they don't, then people fall through the cracks. People wouldn't get any opportunities. You'd have more unrest and discontent people leading to violence and a less safe society.

With everything there needs to be a balance.

agreed, the economics devised since the great depression, the idea of the social safety net, ensure that the markets experience downturn, and not collapse. Laissez Faire economics are outdated, and archaic.

Which is why Conservatism is fundamentally flawed. It's disappointing it attracting so many shortsighted people that can't think beyond step 1. "lessen the load". and what about the consequences...?

It's like playing chess with people that can't think further than 1 move ahead.

how do tax cuts increase job availability? all tax cuts do its compromise government funded programs for a few extra dollars in citizens pockets in hopes of encouraging Canadians to spend and circulate more money in the economy. Unfortunately I don't think that plan is every effective right now

Not sure about the equip now so that when we get out of this, they can fire on all cylinders.

He's referring to getting new computer equipment to get ready.

But equipment, especially computer equipment, gets outdated *really* quickly.

I'm just nitpicking here. I'm very impressed to see this great gentleman willing to work for us. I'm serious. Intelligent informative answers. This is what we need!
