  • Fantastic ensemble, guys~

  • that isnt jeff singing tenor is it?!?

  • thanks for the useful video information, wish more videos were this clear

  • Yeesh! Talk about the case of the tenor flats!

  • love this song...me, and my brother and a fellow fiddler play a slightly bluegrass version of this song...one day i'll get it on here

  • great song and great singers!

  • Magnificent!! I loved it!!

  • barbershop quartets are awesome i want to start 1 someday it would be fun

  • This is one of the best arrangements of the song. Does anyone know where I can get the music for this version?

  • wow this is soooooo relaxing

its almost like a lullaby :)

  • I don't care for the interp-kind of doowop street corner strut (16 tons) finger snap

  • @MomsterYop yeah, i prefer the more soul-ful arrangements. but i think they have a great sound, and i enjoyed it :)

  • Before you criticize their singing YOU get up and do it and see what people say about your singing! They have a great sound.

  • My favorite of this song..ever. truly beautiful, even if the tenor was incredibly flat.

  • WOAH!!!! FLAT TENOR!!! lol that was shockingly bad at around 2:00!

  • yeah I heard it too. Theyre good though, listen to their other version, they NAIL it. But you are right at that moment - you definitely hear something off, either he's off or the "high" quality microphone on that camera cannot handle that many frequencies. I'm hoping the later of the two.

  • i think you're retarded moron.

  • Hey people, why don't you listen to ENJOY not TEAR APART?! They have a fanTAStic sound, and this song was GREAT! Just enjoy ... don't waste your life being judgemental.

  • ur totally right. i think their awesome :) they performed at my grandpas barbershop thing too. awesome

  • @dragynheart13 I think the issue is that big fans of A cappella music or barbershop music can hear the pitch problems and its slightly offensive to the ear. It is a small mar in the overall quality of this performance. Singing with no background music is tough because even the smallest flaws are evident. Overall this was really well done!

  • Amberite, I do agree that in a 4 part barbershop harmony even a small error stands out, and I do agree that there are a couple spots that the tenor does have problems, but ... I'm a 25 year A cappella performer and I wish that everyone would just understand how incredibly difficult it is to do this sort of thing. It takes a lot of work, diligence and guts to get up in front of people just like the ones I was commenting on in my earlier statement. No one wants to be torn a new orifice, you know.

  • excellent

  • Isn't Storm Front a right wing group?

  • You're thinking of the wrong "Storm Front"...and if you read the previous comments, you'd already know that.

  • That's why they now have a new tenor.

They finish top 3 this weekend.

    They are money!

  • Yes they got 3rd place tonight & got there medals--but they should have not finished this & ahead of State Line Grocery, Glory Days & Ringmasters. I want to hear great harmony & not stupid silly comedy crap like storm Front did. It was ridiculous indeed!

  • comedy is part of their act..

  • other than that they're amazing, I love this rendition of the song

  • yeah, I agree with marathonmongoose, you can especially hear it on the part where the tenor steps up near the middle and you hear the high notes clearly; he goes flat when he reaches.

  • Well, I have perfect pitch, so I get that sometimes.

The rest of the quartet moved with whoever was flatting, the quartet finishes lower than when they started (w/o a key change).

  • Is it my imagination, or did the tenor start flatting halfway through the song?

  • I guess that you are hearing something that I'm not. Sorry but I don't hear the tenor flatting out.

  • no marathonmongoose has a point, about 2:15 on you can tell he starts to flat

  • Agreed.

  • wow. much depth in there style amazing!

  • I remember when these guys were up at NY for a pow wow thinger and performed for some kids and were in a show following that camp, they were a pretty entertaining bunch.

  • Little too much tenor on the choruses. Probably just proximinty to the mic though.

  • i <3 this group..they're great!

  • Everyone talkin about this whole "racist" thing is absolutely ridiculous.

  • Thank you very much

  • they arent meteorologist omg yall are stupid can u not read i said one of them is my teacher as in choir teacher he isnt a meteorologist just becuz they have storm in there name doesnt mean they no the weather

  • im tired of ppl saying they are racist they are not the baritone is my choir teacher and i no for a fact he is not racist

  • it is a shame this Tenor left as he was very good

  • While the performance is sharp, the arrangement doesn't capture the sorrow and sense of loss integral to this song. Doo-wap histrionics undermine the overall sentiment here.

  • A bunch of racist bastards.

  • I take it back, stormfront and storm front are different people.

  • what you smokin man?

  • look up stormfront no space, its a racist website.

  • and your point is....?They sing.

  • Look if you put one and one together, you would think they are associated with racist becuase of their names. Infact these men are meteorologists. Are you saying racist can't sing?

  • I'm saying That I met each one of them in person, and saw them in concert, are you saying that storm front isn't a cool and catchy name for a group?

  • They can name it whatever they want, I think its cute they have their name as storm front becuase they're all meterologist. What if a white band came out with the name KKK, they aren't racist but people will originally think they are associated with them.

  • Well, idiots like you will associate them with racists, obviously; the rest the population, being sane, will do no such thing.

Besides, the situation you describe would be different from Storm Front's situation anyway - the quartet existed BEFORE the white supremacist group.

  • You're such a fvcking tool I wouldn't know where to to begin with you. This group started in 95, just a year or so before stormfront started, which has more stardom? And yes, people will generalize if your wording is associated with anything popular.

  • Well, looks like we both may be wrong - Stormfront the racists started in the early '90s (and their website was started in '95), but the only info I can find about the quartet's beginnings is that they first competed in '01.

Of course, none of that changes the fact that not a single person I've talked to, besides some idiots on YouTube, has ever associated the quartet with the racists. In fact, had it not been for YouTube comments, I wouldn't have known about the racists.

  • The opposite, I knew about stormfront before I knew about these guys. I can't fathom how you could not have known stormfront but than again I guess it depends on where you're from; since the founder of stormfront was interviewed by my local new station.

  • Out of tune

  • lol,out of tune?ur a genius aren't you?

  • MAN, his falsetto is Smoooooooth! I could listen to these guys all day!

  • UGH i love this song but omg i have to do a solo for midterms with this song tomorow or thursday and the director hasn't told us which one and so im freaking out!!!!!

  • The tenor, did he sing with acoustix? im not on top of my barbershop knowledge excuse my ignorance! He looks like the guy from acoustix! Hes still amazing! :)

  • no sorry thats not the tenor from acoustix. somebody can correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the tenor from acoustix is todd wilson. and yes these guys are great i hope they win one of these years. they are a great example of where todays barbershop is going.

  • excuse that comment lol I am going blind it seems. i need new glasses. CORRECT! the guy on the extreme left their bari arranged that =) my bad

  • Their baritone is actually the guy to the left of the lead Jim. their tenor is the one on the extreme left =) a fantastic group from my city

  • I enjoy JD Sumner and the Stamps' version just a little better than this one.

  • we sang this in my choir! but this arrangement is comething you have to get used to after you've same the empoering way. lol

  • Great song.

  • That is an amazing song, who arranged that?

  • Thanks. It's amazing group too. My guess is that it was arranged by Darin Drown, bari (the guy on extreme left). I will check back home, it's on their CD too

  • The CD says that music and lyrics traditional, arranged by Gary Moyers (as sung by Sweet Deliverance)
