  • Why replace it? Just clean it and it will work again most likely.

  • @NETWizzJbirk Cleaning was attempted first on this one. While it may work better for the mechanical ignitors, batteries do leak and corrode the contacts beyond repair. Many of these grills are exposed to the elements and the replacement was inexpensive. Normally I would agree with you, but in my case it didn't work well enough.

    Thanks for commenting

  • @CooksGarden Fair enough. Usually for me it is just the spark gap near the burner that is dirty with grease and shorted out... and won't spark. Strong degreaser has worked miracles cleaning these points on my BBQ.

  • Thanks! you speak well

  • Lots of help, thanks

  • Great job; right to the point. It is true that you need to call Weber to get this part.

  • Thank you for this video! Very helpful!

  • Thanks - and it's still working!

  • Thanks for the helpful video. Very good job.

  • I have the same ignitor but there was a little debris in the bottom of the battery tube preventing a good connection. Tapped it out and works like a champ! Thanks for the great video!

  • good to know..

  • nice video man...I just got a weber for FREE! but the ignitor is bad....not elecric though...but is same principal as what you showed. Where do i find the model number so i can get the right part from the weber site? thx again..:)

  • Great video! Very well done! I need to do this with my Weber.

  • @Judgesmails9 Thanks! I have had several of the other shiny grill brands from the big box stores, but spending the money on the Weber was the best investment I ever made.

  • my grill has 4 burner. after turning on the first burner then tried to turn on the second, third, or 4th. the first burner dies..what do you think my grill's problem????NEEED SOME HELP>....thanks

  • @taguro1974 sorry I took so long... Missed the comment. Most likely it's a leaky gasket or connection, that when pressure is increased starts leaking. Have you tried using a soapy water solution around the piping underneat to see if you can locate a leak?

  • So what is the part number for the igniter kit?

  • @soobaerodude I did this a while back so I really don't remember. What I did learn was it really varies by model number and type of ignitor. I finally called Weber direct and they got the right one to me.

  • Marvellous stuff!!! I have this model of bbq and my ignition system has just stopped working and I didn't have a clue how to fix it so thank you.

  • Most of my grilling is done in the fall, winter and spring when it's cool. Good video.......Donald

  • @webcajun I'm with you Don! Grilling when it's over 100 degrees ain't my idea of fun either! Thanks for watching!
