it's ironic how they rode through all these "dangerous" places (areas of the former soviet bloc, kazakhstan, road of bones, etc.) and they almost die on paved roads in developed countries. the trip kind of shows how humans have basically conquered nature to the point where the greatest danger to our lives are each other
Well that's disappointing, they're in Alaska, then suddenly in Calgary, then suddenly in the USA? At least show some Edmonton or Albertan country, not just skip jarringly
@agent0range0 Yeah you're right. the correct thing to do would be to jump around and thump him like some troglodyte even though you're the one who screwed up.
@mardamek1 grumble, grumble, I guess you've got a point about the excitement factor being low in Canada. also yes, they did veer more east there when heading for the US border, so missed BC for the most part. Okay. I guess I'll get over it eventually..... ;)
Wow, this series sure short-changed Canada. Most beautiful country on earth, and no airtime except Calgary??!! CHeck out beautiful BC, guys, you really missed something phenomenal....
@lemayelaine you're absolutely right about Canada, but I don't think they went through BC. Just look at their traveling route, and you'll see. Plus, if there's nothing exciting (such as those accidents or the river crossings in Siberia), then they didn't concentrate. That's why we got so little of Canada. I mean the "excitement factor" of the ride through there was so low (starting from Alaska) that they had to film other activities to keep the interest levels up.
The whole "Something Donkey \ what`s the name of the city" talk reminds me of "Twin Peaks". In the second season (first episode) there was a part about "Leo Johnson (one of the main characters) being locked in Hungry Horse, Montana.".
Man, what a downright shame; They rode all the way to North Dakota to see Mt Rushmore, but missed something nearby of FAR greater interest & significance, the Crazy Horse Monument work-in-progress, imagined and started by an eccentric Polish maverick, Korjak Zialkowski whose artistic vision & sense of respect & honor for the Native American culture is consistent with Ewen and Charlie's own sensibilities, love for people, hopes of peace & appreciation for all nations, tribes & cultures.
Had they started the Crazy Horse Monument back when they taped the program, in 2006? I had the same question about them passing it by and someone and someone asked me this
Korziak (sp?) began his Crazy Horse project sometime back in the 80s at LEAST -- IIRC, it's been a 30+ year work-in-progress, now being continued by his passel of children. I betcha there's a youtube vid or several about it.
true, but in their defense they are trying to get to NY within a time limit. I'm sure Ewan has been to Toronto and Vancouver many times filming movies.

I live in America but I've never been to Mount Rushmore. It does actually look smaller than the pano shots you see of it.
