I started watching Lost at the begging of 2010. I finished watching all the episodes up to the final season, then watched season 6 with the rest of the world. About six months ago I picked up a 6 season ABC Lost Series DVD set, which for some reason originated in China and had Canadian CTV and US ABC broadcasts of the episodes. My son and I enjoy going through the story again and I recommend any lost addicts pick up a 6-seasons set for their very own.
Have just watched 53 episodes in 8 days. The otherday, at lunch I thought I heard the smoke monster... it was just a cash register printing off a receipt!

I'm SOOO addicted to Lost...i wrote down all their connections to work it out you know what you get in the special features in season 2 yeah i wrote them all down! AND i know all the words to every season and most of the ones from season 6 cos i jus watched them over and over again...I LOVE LOST!!! Boone is my fave male and Claire is my fave female!!

I'm SOOO addicted to Lost...i wrote down all their connections to work it out you know what you get in the special features in season 2 yeah i wrote them all down! AND i know all the words to every season and most of the ones from season 6 cos i jus watched them over and over again...I LOVE LOST!!! Boone is my fave male and Claire is my fave female!!

I think I need this. Ever since the show ended... nothing seems right anymore, I must watch Lost! I'm gonna watch the series all over again anyways so I can understand more easily because I don't remember much from the first few seasons. Oh my god! I think I do need perspective!

@OpeningSalvoe ok but those werent complex shows the took topics from everyday things and made a show... x-files=paranormal cop show (they just took paranormal idea and made a show), west wing= political issues (they just took political ideas and made a show), sopranos= mob stories (i liked it but was it complex, no, its just mobster ideas and made a show with good actors), lost= blank but the writers still made it interesting plot to many...

@OpeningSalvoe it was about the characters... and how those characters grew from broken people to what they ended up as... the plot was that they were put on an island because they were broken people while there was a "power struggle" between god/godlike characters... there were so many points/themes to lost but its not like any other show that aired...

If it were all about the characters then they could've just made the show about a plane crash, there was no need for smoke monsters, polar bears and time travel ffs. @OpeningSalvoe dude they werent gonna remake gilligan's island lol. alot of fans liked the ending if u look back seasons 1-3 had 60+ episodes 4-6 had <40; in the first three seasons it was all about the characters ... 1) time travel kinda blew but it was only for 16 episodes idc 2) polar bears were part of Darma the first civilized people who came to the island; reasonable 3) the smoke monster had many hints at what it really was during seasons 3-4 so they had a directions on what they wanted

@mike123luis What are you talking about? Just because something is popular that doesn't automatically make it good. Justin Bieber is popular does that make him good? The time travel story had no point to it, the smoke monster had no point to it, and the Dharma initiative had no point to it, the entire thing was garbage that was simply thrown together, you can't explain any of it, but merely say that lots of fans like the ending, you're going to have to do better than that.

@OpeningSalvoe im just saying that lost focused alot on the characters... u asked what the point of the show was... time travel sucked, i didnt like it. but that one season 16 episodes people can look past that... it did win best tv drama several times so it couldnt be that bad. the smoke monster was fine they gave it a good storyline behind it... ok what was the problem with dharma? Lost to me was more a fantasy series than a sci-fi series like (from your example) the X-files.

There was absolutely no storyline behind the smoke monster whatsoever, absolutely none, they admitted that they didn't even know what the smoke monster was when they wrote the pilot episode for crying out loud. They NEVER explained why Richard never aged, when the hell did they give an explanation for that? They NEVER explained why Claire was taken by Ethan either, or why nobody could have a baby on the island. Name me just ONE thing in Lost that was explained.

@OpeningSalvoe well then ur getting into the small details.during the show there was a long running joke on how the dharma homes had any energy on an island with no power plant, who cares they just did its tv magic. ELECTROMAG ENERGY was one of the small reasons why the island was special, who cares what it was, make your own ideas. if you were able to close a big door(jacob is a real god) but a small door reopens (how is he a god?) who cares. fans of lost did not care about the small doors

@mike123luis If you have to make the story up yourself then it's not a real story, it's not good writing. The problem with Lost was that it tried to pass itself off as a sci fi show, but in a sci fi show you can't just throw in plot elements that make no sense.

The energy radiates to different areas around the Island which have been tapped by various groups of people, such as the DHARMA Initiative.What was the light? Lostpedia prob has a better explanation but i didnt care because i wanted to make my own idea of what it could be. a show that was interesting because of its questions left some open to interpretation why is that such BS

Both believed in its power and believed it could, if improperly handled, destroy the world. i liked to make my own ideas but if u want a definition look it up.their info comes from different information like behind the scenes commentary and interviews with the writers. u shouldnt care about little gaps

You shouldn't have to go to a fucking website to get all this info, if Lost had a decent writing team that were able to put together a decent story all of this stuff would've been explained in the show instead of being concocted after the show ended, and you wouldn't have to come up with your own theories either, it's called SCRIPT WRITING go look it up!

Fantasy or Sci Fi, but they hadn't a clue, because they were making it up as they went along, as such they posed Sci Fi style type mysteries and then atempted to resolve them with Fantasy style resolutions, hence it didn't work.
