  • Bass: Pino Palladino. Baterista: Ian Thomas. Keyboards: Paul "Wix" Wickens. Guitars: Phil Palmer, Phil Manzanera and David Gilmour.

  • awesome!

  • Ever wonder how his guitar stays in tune after so much use of the tremelo bar? If there's a real solution, please let me know. Otherwise, this man is one my great idols. So much soul in his playing. Quite the inspiration!

  • if he did it just a little slower i'd feel like time was moving in reverse. the best of the best

  • 5:07 - 5:45 Real Sorrow

  • a true master of the craft....

  • This man has the most gorgeous hands on the planet. I dream of them... Mmmmm...

  • I would need 10x more notes per second to make a 10x smaller number of bitches shut up.

    IN DAVE WE TRUST

  • that first note is like.... GOD IS HERE

  • @tomnuytkensmusic In the flesh (the wall)

  • Pink Floyd forever my favorite Rock Band!

  • Bad ass!

  • That first note on 0:22..... still makes my blood go cold. Very underated song.

  • Sublime!!!!

  • What is wrong with his voice? I've seen too many times to remember him like this. Greatest guitar player ever, but he has lost his voice. Take Roger's voice any day.

  • @mckavity I think his voice sounds pretty normal. I don't hear anything wrong with it. I'm not mad. I'm just saying my opinion.

  • gilmour is only toying w/us and we hang on every sound he creates

  • Once a friend told me that gilmour couldn't play hard rock... Then i made him watch this video...

  • 0 dislikes say it all. Gilmour is wizard! :)

  • no one in the crowd is moving or singing...

thats what would happen to me... pure bliss...even if i went sober my mind would just explode.

  • The greatest player of all times. Forget the other fags.

  • the great master indeed ...

  • Only maybe Leonardo DaVinci could make something like this...but i'm not sure...maybe!!!

  • @larva71 I doubt Leonardo DaVinci played the electric guitar. :)

  • David Gilmour created a whole new music language for the Fender Stratocaster.

Don't this just put you on cloud 9?

  • SORROW is out of this world. My fav PF song ever. That Fender scares me, wants rape my soul.

  • I'm gonna masturbate with the stop at 6:10 followed by the solo!

  • i wonder who followed this act and what they were thinking. maybe 'shit, i got to follow that?"

  • @stvchelgren1 nobody follows David Gilmor

  • Best PF song EVER!!!!

  • Respect him, really in my heart

  • awesome.

  • really cool enjoyed listing and watching ty

  • bow down to Master D. Gilmour!!

  • When was that ?

  • @user65961it's interesting that lots of people told me that PF music makes them depressed and thinking about suicide, even altough they´re fans of PF! When you are stoned by weed, it´s truly weird experience to listen this kind of a music

  • GOD bless you Dave, you are truly the best.

  • Big Muff into Fanes = recipie for thunderous and sweet mayhem! Something quite magical about that, I think.

  • He's not an Old Bald Man, He's an Old Bald Living Legend and if you ask me best guitar player ever (period)

  • One and only flaw, slight sound quality issue with me

  • la mejor guitarra con el mejor guitarrista del mundo,,,asi, de una y sin preambulos, nada queda por inventar,,,,gilmour ya lo hizo.

  • #1 oh how cool

  • big muff!!!

  • I would have given up a HUGE amount of change to have been at this show! Hell, i would have paid hundreds just to stand outside and watch it on monitors! Those are some lucky, lucky humans in that audience, I must say. I wounder how many of them actually know how fortunate they were to be that close to musical legends, Gilmour in particular.

    peace

  • The talent of this man is off the F#@!ing chart!

  • I have met the legend himself!!!!! check my profile to see the pic!!!!!

  • I have met the legend himself!!!!!!! check my profile too see the proof!!!!

  • my speakers have just ignited

  • @ljwjfac110369 Mine melted!

    peace

  • God Bless Mr. David Gilmour. Talent on loan from GOD!

  • This is absolutely wonderful! You can hear the sadness, sorrow...breathtaking....

  • Why does it say R.I.P in the notes?

  • @edj66 Because Wright and Barret have passed away

    peace

  • @technocrash09 Sorry, I realised after I wrote it that I had not expanded the notes under the video, which would have explained it to me! Cheers though.

  • @edj66 No worries. I am happy to meet a fellow DG / PF fan!

    peace

  • Was soll ich zu diesem Gitarrenspiel sagen? Eine lebende Legende!

  • Is that Prince Charles on bass? *LOL*

  • @technocrash09 pino palladino awesome player

  • @technocrash09 LoL! It's Pino Palladino on Bass.

  • @technocrash09 Someone else probably said this already, but just in case they haven't, that's Pino Palladino on bass. Makes Prince Charles look so unhip it's a wonder his legs haven't fallen off.

  • @technocrash09 Pino Palladino... probably the greatest bassist alive. Plays for The Who, John Mayer and countless others. Prince Charles... -.-

But I agree, master of his craft.

  • @technocrash09 great humour lolllll i lough so much !!!

  • @technocrash09 italian bass name palladinooooooooooooo goodddddddddddd

  • wonderful version.

  • The master at his craft----Just doesn't get any better than this!

  • @technocrash09 Right on! Dave makes it look all too easy but most of us would get to take 55 before giving up and pressing play on one of his versions

  • Less is more! Speed isn't everything!

  • aural orgy.

  • Just a casual flick of that guitar pick and he's got you right where he wants you. I don't think he even realises he's a genius!

  • incredible !!!!

  • fantastico

  • i got the trillers

  • what does he do at 2:09??

  • @Aras034 He strokes the strings behind the saddel and pushes the tremelo arm down. You can try it out too

  • Roger Waters always said "It's not what you put in, it's what you leave out." Perfectly shows here what he means!

  • 50 years of cumulative experience..

    Perfect

  • 50 years of cumulative experience..

    Perfect

  • gilmou & knopfler will be orgasmic!!!

  • @omomom85 agreed

  • all i can say is wow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Monster guitar sound ! I love David's playing ..

  • aq basze vin ukravs vinmem gvitxarit ra... gaixaret....

  • Gilmour teared me another MASSIVE new arsehole @2:03.

  • Gilmour teared me a new arsehole @0:22.

  • oh man! as if this wasnt good enough already, but hes sharing the stage with PINO!!!!

  • @BstEII and queen elizabeth on the drums ;) and it's always not enough for gilmour!

  • could somebody tell me who is playing drums please, thankyou.

  • @ljwjfac110369 Don't know but he sucks..............just sayin

  • @technocrash09 Say it to yourself next time. To say Sir David sucks is like saying Justin Bieber is a music legend. If he doesn't float your boat, look elsewhere. Life is about choice!

  • @Seanus32 First off, I would never say Gilmour sucks in a million years! I was responding to ljwjfac. He asked who the DRUMMER was. I said (if you would care to read before replying) "I don't know but he sucks..." referring to the drummer....and he does compared to Nick Mason and many others.

Secondly, you need to understand what you are replying to and about before you dis somebody, dick-wad!

  • @technocrash09 Just checking :) :) Good to have cleared that up!

  • @Seanus32 LOL :)

BTW I AM, like you, a died in the wool Gilmour fan. I have been since before DSOTM! *giving my age away now*

  • @technocrash09 You have a few years on me, then :) With age comes wisdom, they say. Either that or an acid-fizzled brain ;) Sorry again for rushing to a petulant judgement. Floyd fans tend to be a mellow bunch and there is much mutual appreciation!

  • @Seanus32 No worrries. It just struck me when I was havin' a bad day :)

I have a little of both (wisdom and acid-frizzled brain) #LOL

Yes, we can be a mellow bunch----MOST of the time >8~>

    peace

  • @technocrash09 I know that feeling. The weather is really conducive to headaches here in Poland. Bad days are natural.

MOST of the time, agreed :) We are human, after all. Btw, are you a critic of AMLOR (1987)? I happen to think that it has some of their better songs on it and it lended itself to live treatment on DSOT. On The Turning Away, for example, is a superb statement!

  • @Seanus32 I love just about everything they have ever done. Amimals and AMLOR are prolly my favorites although it is really difficult to say. Every CD has something on it I like so that makes every CD my #1. On The Turning Away, Sorrow and Coming Back To Life are the most recent favorites of mine.

    peace

  • @Seanus32 ....Therefore, go back----read the post by ljwjfac a couple pages back (who's the drummer?) (Which, I might add, had nothing to do with involving you in the conversation anyways), then re-read my reply to him. THEN see how wrong you were in dis-ing me about DG, whom I admire beyond words. And FINALLY, say it to YOURself.

    peace

  • @technocrash09 Peace, I liked that part :)

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE ... i love this man *.*

    he is fantastic!! :D

  • @indianaXD yub! me too :)

  • only david gilmour can make a fender roar like that!!

  • @deano1161 Damn, you're right !

  • Sorry to say that... I don't enjoy this version as much as I should.

Gilmour himself is as good as always, but you can tell he's not with the right people. Also, cut out outro, way too short solo, the keyboard is weak... What the hell? I'll go back to my PULSE version. Now THAT was flabbergasting.

  • i've watched this whole show, and i gotta say david was the best of the whole show, gary moore werent bad, but dave owned that show.

  • @BstEII It's Pino Palladino, dumbass!

  • Fantastic!

  • one of the best....

  • This is definately one of my favorite songs!

  • reason to live is to achieve this level of mind

  • Y'know... I love this song and it's a nice enough version but you can very much tell that the band backing him up . the keyboard player - doesn't "get" the feel of the intro to the song. It's so obvious it almost pains me to see him play with these guys (no offense meant of course). Then again this IS more of a festival so I guess they were pressed for time. Still awesome of course!!! :D

  • is he using a Digitech whammy at the beginning like in Marooned ??

  • @F3FisGoodforYou

    Nope, just the whammy bar.

  • Ahh...the red strat! SUPER!

  • A typical case of letting your guitar do the magic.

My no1# Guitarman of all times

  • Sorrow has never been a favourite Floyd track of mine, in fact I've always found it a bit boring, however I found this version refreshing even though the drummer arsed it up at 6.19 . David continued like a true pro. Nice to see Phil playing with David again.

  • Long live David Gilmour, Can you just do another Concert in Vancouver? i would love to hear you play Echoes again Live this time and hear me cry of joy listening to you playing those wonderful music and your guitar streaming this wonderful sound to my ears

  • I've always said emotion in your music is so much more than haow fast you can rip notes off - dhr

  • wow

  • If Gilmour had been born 300 years ago he would be composing music for kings

  • @1111Sean1111 I agree 100%!!!

  • Like Dave Mustaine of Megadeth said, "David Gilmour can do more with one note than most guitar players can do with the whole fretboard."

  • @xramcam Funny, one of my favorite 2 guitarist, the riff master and the solo master.

  • @xramcam i cant describe the lot of sensations i feel listening dave gilmour. i didn t know that mustaine admires him. another reason to love megadeth

  • Nothing can compare to Gilmour's emotion on guitar.

  • Yeah, David's chrome red strat - my favorite!! Gilmour rules!!!

  • There is not, never has been, and never will be another guitarist who can shake you to the core like David Gimour can.

His solo's just overwhelm me with feeling. I get huge chills up my spine every single time I listen to this man play.

  • @omomom85

Hendrix was good...but Page and Gilmour in my opinion are much better.

  • Kick ass... Pino Palladino!!! Great Bass Player,,, Who, John Mayer, David Gilmour.. A Very Versital player indeed

  • Read the sound!

  • Look, that Guitar, & the sound!

  • Good!

  • Who is the bassist? I think I've seen him before playing with John Mayer?

  • @itzed He's beautiful and he's mine

  • one of the best Gilmour's solos...........

  • Is Pino Palladino the bass player ? What a gret bass player...

  • @casch0101

    Yes, it is.

  • It might be your crappy computer monitors as well...

  • What do you know about tone, you fucking moron??? Classic Hiwatts kicking ass. Go play your skin flute!

  • I know one thing about tone. It's subjective.

  • where the fuck was nick mason man he wouldve kicked the drummer up the arse for making david look bad when he missed the que twice still the excelletie guitar magic covered the little niggles

  • old times...............

  • just amazing...

  • Is Phil Manzanera el Magnifico on this song?

  • that was amazing

  • Superb. That intro made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

  • awesome but not as tight as it was in 94... mainly cuz its a different band backing him, lol.

  • There is and will only be one DAVID GILMOUR...we love him

    thanx for your inspiration

  • this is the favourite new pf song of nick mason. don't need to tell why, I think:)

  • funny thing is that david gilmour programmed a drum machine to do the drum part on the record, lol... kinda funny, lol

  • i am truly humbled ...WE'RE NOT WORTHY WE'RE NOT WORTHY! ala wayne's world

  • Pino Palladino rocking the bass.

  • grande david

  • AMAZING

  • Better than the Pulse version !

  • Never ever would Hi music stale, His style and generosity for listeners like Me

  • gilmour es el dios de la guitarra

  • this also shows you dont have to be one of em shitty shredder guitarrist sweeping milliosn of notes when you can play few nots and show this much!!!!! this is the proof of LESS IS MORE!

  • @xavierslowhand - 100% correct. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, a shredder extraordinaire said: "David Gilmour can do more with one note than most guitar players can do with the whole fretboard."

  • @xavierslowhand Thank you, you just made soooo much sense in what u said

  • @xavierslowhand You're right. There's millions of kids sitting in Guitar Centers on Saturdays shredding up a storm. They have no idea what soul is. All technique......which is fine if you're competing in a speed contest. Music does much more than that.....

  • @xavierslowhand You are exactly right! To come up with this simple song but great sounding song is infinitely more impressive than some idiot playing scales up and down the fret board

  • @xavierslowhand

Playing millions of notes is not crappy. It all depends on style though.

  • hahahaha thats eric claptons new drummer!!! sick performance by gilmour! strat master indeed!!! fender wouldnt be what it is today if gilmour hadnt picked up a bloody strat

  • no, hank marvin from the crickets and buddy holly are the fender strat godfathers. But gilmour is just a musical work of art as well as every musician that steps foot on a stadge or studio

  • Bass sound´s fretless ?

    Amazing performance !

  • Bring on a floyd come back !!!

  • David is a guitar god. I hope he goes on after Ricks death, the world still will hear this fantastic sounding solos

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY SHIT ARE YOU SERIOUS????

  • Gilmour is my God

  • The guitar is wonderful and I like this end. The drummer was not really very good in this music, came late and was very basic.

  • the drummer fucked up the ending. He missed the cue...twice.

  • Guitar genius.
