This was a bracket race which means that the VW said he would finish between __:__ and __:__ and the srt said he would finish between __:__ and __:__. The srt said that he would have a slower ET so he got the green light seconds before the vw. How many seconds depends on the difference between the two predicted times

Everyone commenting that the VW won because his time was faster has obviously never been to a track before. The SRT had a good launch and reaction, the VW didnt. For anyone who doesn't really understand how the SRT-4 won, here it goes...
The reaction time of the SRT-4 was .535 secs (shown across the board during the race). Add that to his 1/4 mile run, which was 11.019, and you get a total of:
11.554 from green light to finish line.
The VW had a reaction time of .920 (shown on his side). Add that to his 1/4 mile of 10.777 and you get:
11.697 from green light to finish line.
SRT-4 won by TOTAL Race Time. That's how it works in this race y'all, lol.
Either way, VW wins. This was a timed drag at the track, not a "real drag race" that's held on some side-road where the SRT4 drivers cry about not getting a rolling start, even if they are racing vs another FWD car. PS, if you didn't notice the smoke from the burnout on the GTI was front tires too, any FWD car with any resemblance of power is harder to launch. The SRT didn't let up either, probably broke something or missed a gear. Had the GTI launched harder a low 10 would've been seen.

srt-4s are so rediculously whack...they have the EXACT SAME engine block as the PT cruiser, they stole the the turbo design part for part off the WRX/ TD04 mitsubishi, and everyone ive ever met who drove one had an iq of 40...an the reason you dont see many of them on the road anymore is cause they handle like shit with theyre FWD, and the owners who must suffer from inferiority complexes, drive them like Mario Andretti an pretty much always total them, almost killing themselves an other innoce

2-SRT4s can handle VERY well for being a FWD car. They aren't a joke whatsoever. Speed & agility = SRT4. I hated them because they were Neons. These Neons kick serious ass.
3-They are what America wants, a sleeping monster with enough 4cyl power to flatten the imports & it does.

Wanna make a bet? look up 1lapsrt, he competes in super lap and 1 lap racing, has made 3 records and holds 2 since 2009.
the SRT-4 also in the slalom was only a couple MPH slower then the 350 Z that everyone bows down to as a handling god of a car. and the ACR was designed for Auto X racing and can be setup to pull over 1 G in there showroom/lot condition with the ACR suspension package.
also there are ALOT of SRT-4's in my area, i see 2 or 3 a week minimum on the road.

its amazing how many people dont know what racing is. Im an auto enthusiast all around, i can appreciate all cars for what they are. But a race is a race. Everyone commenting that the VW won because his time was faster has obviously never been to a track before. The SRT had a good launch and reaction, the VW didnt. Had they both had equal reaction time, the VW would win, but he didnt. The SRT crossed the line first, BUT, the VW ran a faster trap time. Please get this through your heads children

For anyone who doesn't really understand how the SRT-4 won, here it goes...
The reaction time of the SRT-4 was .535 secs (shown across the board during the race). Add that to his 1/4 mile run, which was 11.019, and you get a total of:
11.554 from green light to finish line.
The VW had a reaction time of .920 (shown on his side). Add that to his 1/4 mile of 10.777 and you get:
11.697 from green light to finish line.
SRT-4 won by TOTAL Race Time. That's how it works in this race y'all, lol.

Either way, VW wins. This was a timed drag at the track, not a "real drag race" that's held on some side-road where the SRT4 drivers cry about not getting a rolling start, even if they are racing vs another FWD car. PS, if you didn't notice the smoke from the burnout on the GTI was front tires too, any FWD car with any resemblance of power is harder to launch. The SRT didn't let up either, probably broke something or missed a gear. Had the GTI launched harder a low 10 would've been seen.

I was there, it wasn't based on time, it was actual drag racing, as in, the light turns green and you go. Whoever crosses the line first wins. The time starts as each car leaves. The SRT-4 left first, and let up near the end realizing that the VW was losing badly, rolled to a finish crossing the line first. AGAIN: READ: THE CLOCK DOESNT START TILL THE CAR LEAVES THE START LINE, but the winner of the race is the first to cross the finish line!

srt-4s are so rediculously whack...they have the EXACT SAME engine block as the PT cruiser, they stole the the turbo design part for part off the WRX/ TD04 mitsubishi, and everyone ive ever met who drove one had an iq of 40...an the reason you dont see many of them on the road anymore is cause they handle like shit with theyre FWD, and the owners who must suffer from inferiority complexes, drive them like Mario Andretti an pretty much always total them, almost killing themselves an other innoce

@lilowend hey dipshit did you realize that mitsubishi is the one who uses the dodge design... why dont you look up who owns a big piece of mitsubishi... mopar. if you look at a lot of mitsubishi parts there is a chrysler symbol cast into them. And as far as neons handling like shit, did you know that the SCCA had to create a class of its own for the neon ACR's because they were unfair to put against anything else.... just a little history lesson for you.

Here's a little bit of enlightenment.
1-With a proper tune & no extra hardware, SRT4s will walk Type Rs, STis, & EVOs like dogs. I have seen this happen more than once & was as surprised as you will be when you see it.
2-SRT4s can handle VERY well for being a FWD car. They aren't a joke whatsoever. Speed & agility = SRT4. I hated them because they were Neons. These Neons kick serious ass.
3-They are what America wants, a sleeping monster with enough 4cyl power to flatten the imports & it does.

Wanna make a bet? look up 1lapsrt, he competes in super lap and 1 lap racing, has made 3 records and holds 2 since 2009.
the SRT-4 also in the slalom was only a couple MPH slower then the 350 Z that everyone bows down to as a handling god of a car. and the ACR was designed for Auto X racing and can be setup to pull over 1 G in there showroom/lot condition with the ACR suspension package.
also there are ALOT of SRT-4's in my area, i see 2 or 3 a week minimum on the road.
