  • could have done it better if u use Mac laptops

  • @jeckshen89 I hope you realise Mac laptops are overpriced crap?

  • Could it be possible that there is a giant whale, much bigger than an ordinary whale? :D

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, that marker didn't sink, it literally DISAPPEARED!!!

  • @GreenDay3213

haha we don't eat giant squid, apparently its very rubbery and tastes like amonia (^^)

  • Did they eat the tentacle?

  • Meanwhile in Japan.

  • < ]:=

  • it looks yummy..calamares baby!!!

  • @GreenDay3213 Well, they probably killed this one, I mean, how likely is it to survive without one of it's main arms.

  • if they just reeled in sooner they'd have caught a giant squid. that's depressing.

  • poor squid...

  • haha the "flag bait" disappeared so fake!!! it FADED away not disappeared -_-

  • poor squid... why is man not able to research something without hurting it?

  • @bububububak Kinda like what happens in supposed alien abduction.

  • one frame each 30 seconds? :/ good idea

  • @Kleber231376 Seeing as its very deep in pitch black darkness, the camera uses longer time to take the photos, so that more light is allowed into it (so that you can ctually see something). movements kinda blur out though, and the photos were kinda clear, so they mightve done something else, but thats my guess

  • "The suckers still gripped !" so true xD

  • thats it?? i wanted to see video not pictures

  • hope to see more videos.....sogoi na...arigato gosaimasu for the video

  • 2:36 - Best part

  • imagine that they were watching 2 girls 1 cup, its fun

  • At 3:19 you can see it

  • The best part of the video is their excitement after they catch the squid:D

  • I like giant squids.

  • awesome

  • release teh kraken!!!

  • All of my worst fears are confirmed. I'll see you in my nightmares tonight, you gargantuan tentacled fuck.

  • That, my friends, was AMAZING!

  • I wish these used a video camera. How much more amazing would it be of never seen before footage.

  • Apparently the budget for this vid was very low. It only cost about sick squid.

  • The japs looked like they were watching porn.

  • @Nitrollgen This was pretty much tentacle porn for a squid enthusiast

  • "And it was still moving."Not gonna lie, may have crapped myself.

  • i'd rather not see it than have these ignorant little fucks hurt them for a few photos

  • @iliketha it was not ment to hurt it it got caught jackass

  • @TheYobo66 i can't respond if you don't speak english, jackass

  • um....howd was the line really that strong to rip off the squids tentacles

  • @tigerlep9 it was a steel cable champ.... at those depths ... mmmmm u do bring up an interesting question though??? wat if it releases it like a lzards tail??? survival during combat with the sperm whale???? ohhhhh yeeeeeahhhh

  • yeaaa boiii

  • Is there a part 3?

  • Shit, i guess the kraken exists then

  • No they didn't kill it. The squid will grow a new tentacle. Like how a gecko will grow back it's tail.

  • my favourite discovery show is Crocodile Hunter

  • they killed the squid

  • @Felwoodiful Its alive and regenerated its limb.

  • hmm. way is the marker faded away into the background at 0:30 why not show when it is pulled down??? fake??

  • @skarabasisten Probably because it disappeared when they weren't looking

  • Comment removed

  • The whole video is not here, they actually landed the thing, but it died in the fight to get it on board.

  • how come i cant get this video to play???

  • I like the expression of japs at this aprty 2:35 :D

  • just messin

  • god dam the asains and there ohhhhhhhhh

  • Let the bodies hit floor

  • thats some scary shit. Just imagaine being in the black water and then seeing that! i'm probably as big as its eye! gives me chills

  • There was finally true proof that giant squids do exist and yet the top comments are about how much they hate the narrator? For realz guys?

  • @planetary109 what do u mean "finally true proof"? giant squid have been proven to exist for years

  • @elnogga I say that as in proof to those crazy creationists.

  • @planetary109 not only that, but the same "Damn nature, you scary!" it is old, it is tiring and it isn't clever to see so many people posting this on every nature video posted on youtube.

  • Giant Squid 2:35

  • how did i get here from ren and stimpy?!?

  • nice lightsaber

    oh thats the like bar

  • we need to pour $1 billion dollars into capturing and breeding giant squids because they are so damn frightening

  • if i was on a hooking expedition for giant squids, i'd get a bigger boat

  • that's cool and all, but they maimed the squid. :-\

  • The pictures look like a painting in Minecraft

  • A mormon commercial???? Scams on Youtube!!!

  • The Japanese, of all people, should know that the best bait for reeling in a giant tentacle monster is...*wait for it*...an asian school girl!!!

  • giant squid photo debut was on pic number 50 / 605 not 87th !!!!!

  • SHIIIIIIIIIT that is one big squid...

  • Lol, they captured a moving one by trying to capture one, nz fishermen catched one on a long line alive.

  • I wonder if they ate that tentacle.....

  • i'd eat it

  • @kbaker1087 I wouldn't blame you, I would do the same lmfao.. that would save me some money on meals right about now.

  • this is like 127 hours but with a squid haha. at the end he finally cut his own arm tentacle to escape

  • @jvome lol

  • nice... ITS AWESOME!!!!...... holy shit the flag dissapeared

  • that narrator sounds like a half-arsed jeremy clarkson

  • shit the flag just evaporated!

  • damn nature you scary!

  • @jvome damn right

  • @jvome Damn thump whore you're not FUCKING FUNNY

  • Breaded and deep fried please-lemon on side Merci

  • narrator is fucking stating the fucking obvious

  • i dont know about you guys but when i seen them very happy that they completed their mission i was happy too

  • great videos(part 1/part2)

  • AND THEN YOU MAKE SOME SUSHI!!

  • I feel bad for the squid.

"hey whats this thing?" "OH GOD MY ARMS MY ARMS"

It had to rip its own arm off to free itself..

  • "I think we need a bigger boat"

  • They should have bought Sony, 'cuz the resolution on their camera sucks!

  • @revoltedo14 Yeah..... sperm whales...... what is the problem?

  • do you guys realize that almost all documentaries stating they got photograph/footage of a rare creature, it's almost always anticlimatic?

  • One last question would be, Can this marine creature regrow it's Limb's ? as like a crab / crustaceans...does !...

    Thom In Scotland.

  • Highly interesting video guy, The question on my mind is why it rolled to a ball, we see other spices doing this in a defensive posture, Another question would be did it sever it's own limb or was it torn. My assumption would be it is intelligent, so would it sever it's own limb, as would we in order to survive with no other option open..... , I have always thought that story's of such monsters shall we say, from maritime encounters of historical record, had definite Credence to them....

    Thom.

  • why not just go fishing for one....?

  • @Alltimelowguitar123 good luck finding a fisherman strong enough to reel in one of those monsters. Or a fishing line long enough.

  • @GlitchTwoSix they just need to turn super sayian, problem solved :)

  • Hang on a minute......they're not scientists, they're sushi chefs!

  • why isn't morgan freeman narrating this?

  • @spinasweetness Why isn't Gordon Freeman narrating this?

  • @spinasweetness I always been a James Earl Jones man myself.

  • @spinasweetness Or David Attenbourga

  • this was an amazing discovery. For years scientist have been wondering if the tales of sea monsters were true. And now, we know it is. This is want i want to be when i grow up. A zoologist or a cryptolgist making new discovers for mankind to know. :)

  • Skip to 3:37 save yourself some time

  • At least his hard work paid off. ^^

  • meanwhile in china....

  • Chuck Norris aquarium is full of mysterious creatures :)

  • the narrator is so annoying..

  • @climbr7 in wich way?

  • @DarthUno just overenthusiastic

  • @climbr7 aha, thought you were one of those idiots who thinks british accent sound strange

  • @DarthUno Defs not haha. Brits have the coolest accents in the world

  • Comment removed

  • @climbr7 What are you talking about? He's great!

  • Oouaahh..

  • PHOTOSHOP! lol just joking

  • You may consider this inhumane, but it's not like they meant to harm it. It got hooked by accident while dining on the bait.

  • ash forgot catch this pokemon

  • that is soo cruel..

  • @bu3allash and how you do you suppose they should have done it? go up to the thing and say hi? Its a giant squid, deep in the ocean , and losing the tentacle was just an accident,. I doubt they wanted to get that when they sent the bait down.

  • 0:30-0:38

    "Hooper!"

  • I think we should just leave the squids alone, already, because this seemed cruel, to me, The squid must have been trying to free itself, for hours. If research is done on ANYTHING, it should be done, humanly

  • @MsGamer247 If it makes you feel any better, the squid will grow the lost tentacle back. I won't say pain wasn't involved (squids have quite a nervous system), but the squid is likely well off since the incident.

  • I've always been a big fan of cryptozoology stuff. Anyone else got wind that that Founder of PREHISTORIC CHANNEL has just written his first thriller book called THE ICE GORILLA. I read that the ICE GORILLA book is being looked at by movie producers in regards to turning the book into a movie. This will depend upon how well book sales go. I haven't read the book yet. Has anyone read THE ICE GORILLA book yet????

  • @foodluvr97 and forth don't think try to be clever if u are not and fifth go back to sleep D=

  • @fidendu2 I wasn't trying to be clever, but you obviously were. "go back to sleep"? what a lame comeback.

  • @foodluvr97 comeback? im not dead and u know that takoyaki can make with all things even with hot dog squid has a same taste as octopus i dont see the different. and it's not me who said blablabla u are stupid do u think u are better retard?

  • @fidendu2 yes, I did say comeback. and I know you aren't dead. I mean it in the definition of " a reply". Squids and octopuses are more different than you think. And though I do apologize for being a bitch about your first comment, it doesn't mean you aren't acting like an ignorant jerk in. don't use the word "retard" as an offence, mmkay? its quite rude and demeaning.

  • @foodluvr97 ??? srry then if u apologize me. On the first hand so u said octopus and squid are more different, I agree but it's not mean that they are like a cat and a dog maybe they don't live in the same place of sea floor or squid have two tentacles and eight arms, and octopuses just have eight arms or they dont have the same size but they don't taste so different...

  • @fidendu2 i apologized, BUT DONT FUCKING USE THE WORD "RETARD" okay??!?!

it's distasteful and used out of context. Anyways, if people had to search that far into your joke to get that ocotopus tasted like squid and therefor they were trying to make takoyaki, it's not really that funny. just saying.

  • everything made by japanese is good, this video of squid is an example !

  • @123vietnamese Not everything.

  • @Alwaysbodyboarding they said it dissapeared not get pulled so stfu

  • the flag doesnt get pulled down it gets erased. pause it then double click so it goes real slow n u see it jus vanish but doesnt get pulled.

  • I love their faces: so happy!!!!!

  • ah??28 comments for that?? squids dont have families.,,,read more books kids

  • theres probably monsters of unprecedented sizes ands habits down there, lets not forget that we know more about the surface of the moon than we do our own seas and oceans

  • @hordichuck yeah they mentioned it in the show. "we know more about the planet mars than we do the ocean"

  • @foodluvr97 Never could get down with that saying. We know a pile about the ocean. We know that there's is much more left TO know about the ocean of course. We know a good bit about Mars, but I don't think we know enough to determine how much left there is to know about it.

    ya know?

  • @Greichen Yeah, im not a scientist so I wouldnt know... but personally, theres always something new to know from anything.

  • @Greichen yeah, at least we know the ocean has water. cant say the same for mars.

  • @Scotch7000 sure we can. Mars has water. How much? How long ago might it have been liquid? Not sure yet, but presence of H2O? Yes. Probably much less squids however. Hopefully.

  • sushi

  • the video made me facepalmed

  • wait, whats the size of an average squid?

  • It's tentacle would grow back, wouldn't it? I don't know much about squids, so I have no idea. And it wouldn't have died would it? Am I just severealy underestimating the power, and resilliance of a Giant Squid?

  • @xsmatherx thats for octopus....

  • The desperate hyperbolic Discovery Channel does it again. And a note for the commentator: go back to smoking 40 a day and copying the Hollywood voice in the privacy of your living room!

  • aaaw, japanese are so cute when they're excited;D

  • Maybe a larger predator ate the rest of the squid as it was caught & struggling :o

  • this must be beautiful to witness, i know what im gonna study now

  • Ohh we now make lots of kalimari!

  • If they continue fishing up parts like this soon they can build their own squid

  • The closest footage I've ever seen of the Giant Squid was caught on a show called Monsterquest, check it out! It's on youtube. They have a special camera and an interesting method of getting close to the squid. They caught an amazing video, the squid was larger than anything on this show.

  • What were the pictures taken with? a toaster?

  • @T0XiCErA deep sea camera.

  • poor fella getting his arm cut off

    for entertainment

  • @leon2212

it's science and these people are not some sort of sadists as you are imagining...learn to distinguish different things

  • So can we see the giant squid already?

  • Iv'e watched at least 50 tv shows where it shows other dudes that get pictures of giant squids..........Man only know's 10% of the ocean so who know's what lives down there........The deepest creature ever heard was nick named "THE BLOOP"

  • @freindlyapache101 Assuming the "bloop" is a creature. Since they only heard it the one time, they have never been able to determine if it's a living thing or something else.

  • this would be my worst fear. imagine being halfway unger the oceans' surface with a flashlight. then you see a big shadow swimming toward you...

  • @beasten1000 And then it grabs you and rips you're face off and goes to hang out with the bloop and then he cooks you with the bloop

  • they're out there!!!

  • Scary!

  • aaaagh this was terrifying! I hate the ocean! but it was cool.

  • that was 2009, this is 2011 bitch

  • @Nyancatzz roger that

  • my stomachs rumbling just watching this i need calamari my fav food yum
