  • He's the last of his kind.

  • 1:04 dude watch me take a piss on the turtle..

  • I'LL BE URE FRIEND!!!

  • Any idea what age he is?

  • Forever Alone :D

  • Awwww look at his puppy eyes!

  • ILY LONESOME GEORGE

  • Master Oguay (kung fu panda)

  • can't wait for the day human kind will be extinct, atleast drop 95% in population :) maybe mother earth may recover from the worst creation she ever made. human.

  • @Kingler91 Agreed

  • @Kingler91 You're one dumb mother fucker.

  • So very very sad. :( too bad they were unable to protect the islands from 1 species that is way overpopulated...humans need to just leave some places alone!

  • such an amazing place.

  • D:

  • @chukuchukz yes it was another turtle but it wasnt another giant tortoise...... good eye tho cuz i didnt see it

  • he will be extinct soon

  • Store his DNA!!!

  • forever alone :/

  • ok im depressed now

  • Could you imagine him as a soup?!

  • my penis reacts the same way when i see a va J J

  • why was that kid tryna piss on the giant tortiuse wtf???

  • once i start watching...I can't stop

  • Grand master Oogway?

  • why is he the last? what happened to the others?

  • @kenpochi27 they died out

  • He has a dick on his neck. Lol! 2:45

  • if you watch the science diet add let me tell it it is one of the worst dog foods on the planet.

  • BBC nature videos sure knows how to pull our deepest emotions. Humans in this island should leave if they truly respect its true inhabitants. when all lands on this earth are taken by us humans, what than?

  • @SniperCross2 Yeah I know, the other one is a female Galapagos giant tortoise, they introduce it to George to make him feel not all alone and try to mate to the other giant tortoise, so he's not that lonely at all..

  • 'people and the animals live happily side by side....' thats because the animals haven't stayed with us long enough..... they'll learn their lesson...very soon....

  • I've seen George in person, years ago when I was still a teen; I visited those islands, like stepping back in time... I remember being told even then that they'd tried to mate him with other closely related species of giant tortoise, but he just wouldn't. I can't believe after all these years he's still alive; but I still wonder if even a reptile can feel the loneliness of being the last of it's kind. It didn't seem to bother him while he ate his breakfast that morning!

  • :foreveralone:

  • i feel so sorry for George :( being the only one of his kind left!

  • Amazing video. I do think that the people living on the island should not allow any motorized vehicles to be on the island. The island will stay pristine if people walk or bike or even ride horses

to get around. The island of Mackinaw in Michigan is an example of this idea. No cars are allowed on Mackinaw Island and this helps preserve island life for humans and animals. Also no high rises should be allowed this creates too much population density and that is bad for the island as well!

  • master oogway !!!

  • 2:42 i know its immature but its really suggestive....

  • @NineTailedArrancar F..K YA

  • hes not lonely at all, did anyone notice another giant tortoise at 2:08?

  • @chukuchukz Of its own species

  • @tanman1110 Probably. The other one is barely portrayed but it seems smaller and to have a different shell shape. But whether that is due to being a different species or simply being of different age I can't say.

Anyway, I wouldn't trust the statements prior to George too much. I mean, when those birds and reptiles are so close to humans, who says that they are not doing well there. Despíte the myth there are species doing very well, many of them around the world.

  • @chukuchukz theres one more giant tortoise at 1:50 !!!

  • @chukuchukz There is more then one species of tortoise but they are specifically saying he is the last of his specific type of tortoise the Pinta Island tortoise.

  • @chukuchukz He is the only survivor of his kind!! the other turtle is different!

  • @chukuchukz by lonyle they mean hes the last of his species

  • @chukuchukz It isn't the same species. He is the only one left. They try for him to breed with similar species to try and keep at least part of his species alive.

  • @chukuchukz they are not of his subspecies, his mating with them would produce a useless mongrel hybrid.

  • @EoceneRoxton I thought there was 39 of his kind brought from somewhere else in the world, that were introduced to his area in attempts to fix the population issue.

I heard they're taking steps to get them back into existence. Like they killed off the overeating goat population.

  • @chukuchukz either you are terribly uninformed, or your comment suggesting that he is not lonely, is not funny. Deriving humor and pleasure (that includes the 40+ people who liked your comment) from the loss of a unique lifeform illustrates the the kind of egotistically arrogant uninformed thinking that leads our species to abuse the resources it procures, and the laziness of our willingness to address how we impact the environment, much less do something about it.

  • @Shileikis7 Or he and the 40+ people are capable of noticing the movement, behind the tree to the right, of a similar looking tortoise at the linked time frame.

  • @Furoar Yes, there is another Tortoise behind the bushes on the right at 2:08. But it's obviously a different species that can not mate with "Lonesome George". How would you feel if you were the last Human on Earth, hanging out w/ some Monkeys and Gorillas? I stand by my original statement.

  • I am the 2nd runner up for the loneliest animal on the planet.

  • So sad......

  • I find it stupid how humans have to invade every damn land mass on earth for our own well-being..

I hate humanity for destroying the earth and nature.

  • @xDwinz This ain't Jurrasic Park

  • @Zigamafa

its still possible to clone animals from their DNA...they do it with sheep

  • @twmmay Yeah I was intoxicated when I wrote that.

  • @Zigamafa LOL

  • ET PHONE HOME

  • The turtles head and neck looks like the penis and the throat looks like the balls

  • nah, we can make eggs from stem cells

  • clone it... problem solved =P

  • A potential case for cloning...

  • @voicetube i believe you need a female's egg of the same species to clone

  • @Kleeeenex1 hmmmm I was thinkin' of that; you may have a point (D'oh!) Any qualified geneticists wish to chime in?

  • wow this is so sad.......... i cant imagine being the last human on earth....

  • i fell bad D:

  • so sad. :(

  • nice boobys

  • how sad. :(

  • Aaw, poor George! Why don't people say he's the most endangered animal in the world then, instead of this rhino thing? :(

  • @MegaSunshine333 Because saying that would be highly incorrect. The Galapagos tortoise is not the most endangered animal in the world. Lonesome George is the last of his sub-species, not species. I believe the most endangered tortoise is the Ploughshare from Madagascar.

  • @Tevina88 Oh okay I get it now. Thanks for answering my question :)

  • 1:04 WAS THAT KID ABOUT TO PEE ON THE TURTLE?!

  • sad.

  • She said the animals are 'tame' . They are not tame at all

  • Someone get that turtle laid!

  • before he dies, take a sample of his DNA and when we can in the future we can clone him and repopulate his species

  • noooooooo

  • BOOBIES!!! :>

  • I am legend......He is literally living that movie....only difference is we are the zombies.

  • dont laught at it.... imagine if ur the last human species waiting for food on earth

  • @1997music4life "Bad Looking Alien talking: This is 1997music4life. He is the last surviving member of the Human race species in Earth after its invasion."

  • Wouldn't it be possible to introduce him to a tortoise from a similar species? At least so he wouldn't be so alone.

  • @lettuceexplain he has some females of a similar subspecies to keep him company :)

  • @foreverisalie22, Dear Foreverisalie22, Thank you for letting me know....very nice to hear this; loneliness is a terrible thing.

  • @lettuceexplain Yes, it is possible. And they have. He's lonesome because he's the last of his subspecies, not that he isn't surrounded by others.

  • @lettuceexplain i remember watching documentary about him, said that he wouldnt mate other same species turtle and i think they died off. then hes alone and they try to make him mate other type of turtle but it didnt work so at the end it was over. if i remember all those correctly.

  • @lettuceexplain

No, animals don't view "Similar" Subspecies as kin. That concept was made up by humans.

  • That little brat is going to pee on the tortoise....what a rotten species we humans can be.

  • fucking humans.....

  • i kinda fell like that! :'(

  • no female 4 you Lonesome George!!!

  • Look at all dem boobies! 1:21

  • MAN THIS IS SAD

  • Forever Alone.

  • Honeybadger dont care if that animal is lonely

  • @SwAgAsOrUsReXx Honeybadger don't give a shit.

  • someone needs a little water.. hmmm

  • E.T phone home !

  • well they have a pretty good dna sample right there...why not breed more?

  • @Renegades69 your stupidity is overwhelming

  • @bscutajar And your readiness to insult and offend is overwhelming. I know this might be going against the grain, but try having some class.

  • @Renegades69 Breeding with DNA samples. LOL

  • @bscutajar

    ´/care

  • @AndersBehring Yet you cared enough to write a comment. Hypocrisy ftw

  • Humans will destroy yet another part of the world. HUMANS SHOULD LEAVE THE ISLANDS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DraGonAIchemist my people, the english who created the language you commented in call an island home so thats not really a solution however the galopogos should have strict migration laws

  • @lanchedgehog the ENGLISH ruined the world to begin with. besides I speak Greek!

  • @DraGonAIchemist actually greece has several islands making up the country also you say that about any country and there is always a first cause and due to the fact that the britons became more learned due to the romans and the romans had gained much knowledge from greece I'd blame Greece

  • @lanchedgehog well, they say that knowledge is power correct? The only diff is that the British used the knowledge to try to take over the world.

  • @DraGonAIchemist no the only "diff" is we didn't get 9/10 of our nation taken by another empire

also why are we arguing about such a stupid thing lets just agree to disagree

  • @lanchedgehog i never argue...... i'm simply entertaining you. But if you like before we agree to disagree i believe it was the "Anglo-Saxons" who took over the Island back in the day my friend. Creating what you know today. At the least Greece took back it's land after 400 years.

  • Whenever these BBC videos end so abruptly, I get this feeling that somebody mentioned Candle Jack in the recording booth and the narrator just simply vanished without finishing the

  • @HaoWenXiang lol

  • I SAY CLONE HIM!

  • Well guys. What happens when he goes? This is how fucking screwed the world is.

  • i thought the troll was

  • Lonesome George Extreme Forever Alone! :'(

  • so sad 2day

  • they should clone him and give him a buddy :)

  • 2:45

So... why does he have balls on his neck?

  • That tortoise gives new meaning to the phrase FOREVER ALONE

  • I love how she used both "Evolution" and "Garden of eden" in the same video.

  • BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Don't end the video just like that!!!

  • @3dgamerman They have to, otherwise, people would watch on youtube instead of their televisions.

  • Being the last survivor of your specie must be a strange feeling
