Elemental Shaman DPS Rotation

CL vs LB tested on PTR with Ele shaman. Both spells were spammed on SINGLE TARGET. LB spam gave me 9k DPS, and CL spam gave me 11k DPS. This made me think that CL is better than LB... Correct me if you want.

this is stupid. You never CL on single target. Even in WOTLK. LB hits harder and costs less mana. Stop clicking. what are you doing with your other hand anyway when you are standing still? In WOTLK you just Flameshock LvB LB LB repeat to LvB cooldown reapply flameshcok. EM on cooldown. so bad.

@Raidbossike Actually in Wrath, Chain lighning hit harder, and was a faster cast, but wasn't used towards the end due to haste making chain lightning clip, at the start of the expansion, Chain lightning was used on single target. Later on you got enough haste to just fit in 4 LBs before u had to LvB. By the looks of his gear, he doesn't have haste to spare, so chain lightning actually ups his dps.

i think from personal xp that chain lightning is useless in boss fights... it eats too much mana and u go oom pretty fast.... so i just pump lightning bolt and lava burst... and if you have some more haste it does awesome in long fights

Dude, that's not a good rotation. I just got my shammy to 80 and he is sitting in a 3.3 gs and he does about 3k dps. My rotation is flame shock, lava burst, chain lighting then spam lightning bolt til lava burst procs and always keep flame shock up

The correct rotation would be Flame Shock > Lava Burst > CL(based on your haste and such) > Lightning Bolt Spam until Lava Burst is off CD.

I've played a few shamans before, not in the best gear, pretty close to the same as this guy, but i found that lightning bolt, flame shock, lava burst, chain lightning, lightning bolt, frost shock ( for that little bit of extra dps while flame shock is still active on the target) and only put flame shock back on when it falls off, or is about to fall off.... first time i played my friends shaman i pulled 4k on Anub in 10 man Naxx, so this rotation is not the best, imo.

never use chain lightning with only 1 target its a more mana than lightning bolt for less damage. If theres 2 or more targets always use chain lightning when up it will up damage

first for those how haveing probs is cuz ur listing to have this shit 2ed  it go's FS,LVB,CL,LB,LB,LB the reson for this is cuz the globelcooldown on LVB and CL is a vary long CD and u will lose dps by doing anyother way... LVB=lava burst LB=lighting bolt FS=flameshoke CL=chain lighting

I saw you have like 304 haste? this may be due to gear, but as an elemental shaman, istack a lot of haste. You mentioned your hit rating. Your hit rating is 0. This not only means you'll miss but you wont hit as hard. Chain Lightening is imba, on both multiple or single target. But nice vid :)

im a ele shammy, im around 4,5k dps and i crit 10 - 15k with Lava Burst, i use the rotation,

Flame shock

Lava Burst

Lightning Bolt

Chain Lightning

And then keep Lightning Bolting until LvB is ussable :)

get your hit rating up to 17%. 14% after talents, then your rotation should be... FS, LavaB, CL, LB, LB, then depending on your haste you can go from there... Like JBP said lava burst is your priority and it crits of FS so you hsould get at least 2 lava bursts off before you refresh FS

Rotation doenst need to have chain lightning. thats a good way of pulling adds. just upgrade your gear. enchant and gem it and you'll be seeing 14k lava bursts in no time.

Usually only ever use chain lightning if there are 2 or more targets, otherwise it uses too much mana, and depending on your spec, tier bonuses and glyphs, lightning bolt usually does more damage on one target than chaing lighning with 1/3 of mana cost.
