Man, I'm a huge fan of Katatonia, particularly of the old albums and if you compare those growls with the ones that Jonas delivers today, well... there's a big difference. And it's obvious that if he knew how to do that, the career of Katatonia would have been really different

Because of his throat problems.. He hasn't been able to growl since the recording of Brave murder day (on which he didn't perform) (but a kinda weaker growl was used in the first October Tide album some years later though)

Opeth, Agalloch, Swallow the Sun, Novembers Doom, My Dying Bride, and Riverside (more prog rock than metal) all sound similar to Katatonia, but are different also, so you won't get bored of them.

IMO, when Dan first kicks in with the drums, thats the demo they shoulda played the whole song at, it felt more energetic. Then they slowed down.

HUH??? Has anyone actually heard Jonas Renske growl on Dance of December Souls (debut album???) Jesus, no one on earth can sound that EVIL as he has within that era of his career. I'm sure he could have been MORE than capable enough to sound kickass on the album had he been able to growl at the time. Seriously, Jonas was amazing. DoDS is still one of the best albums I have heard.
