Fuckin beautiful playing. Why can't I play like this kid?!?! FML. Sounds just like Hetfield's new MOP tone. U can be suprised by what basswood can do bc it's very versatile from what I've been noticing. Ur vids with the EMG RG2EX1 really do help alot when making a decision on purchasing a guitar to setup. Now I know why most guitars use basswood...a good, dark tone, that is affordable. Mahagony just seems to be a tad bit darker, and ALOT more heavier. Like, survive falls better.

@Hendrixidol Basswood has a very neutral tone. It falls pretty much in the middle of mahogany and maple on the dark/bright scale.

@andrewds98 I conquer, I am even 15 and all I have is a fucking Peavey Vypyr 30, I have recently upgraded the speaker though, but I agree, most guitarists don't have this at 14. I am actually saving up for a Mesa Boogie Quad Preamp, closest thing to a IIC+ you can get.

@forestofrencho actually, the only difference between a mesa boogie mark iic+ and a mesa boogie mark 3 red stripe is the way its hand wired, since all of mesa boogies amps are hand wired (hint the red stripe, blue stripe, green stripe) located on the back left corner above the power cord of every amp, you would probably be best buying the mesa boogie mark 3 red stripe because its was in the stage of evolution of the mark series when the mark iic+ caught everyones attention.

new amp sounds much better, and your playing is very good, but there's one thing you should work on. it sounds like you're holding the pick at too much of an angle, which causes a high pitched scratchy sound. it's really noticeable on faster picking like the triplets on the low e string in battery in this video. try picking more parallel to the strings and this should help improve your sound!

Holding the pick at an angle gives it a nice cello like shugging quality. Brings the attack to life a bit more. Also less resistance across the strings.
