  • I've got alot of Celtic Cornish heritage in me that I love and want to learn even more about. Does anyone know the history of this song and what its about? How much does it have to do with Cornwall. I know the Cornish have thier own bagpipes like quite a few Celtic regions

  • @TheMarrification The history in Europe is very hard to follow since good 'ol Hitler (that was sarcasm; we all know how evil he was) destroyed a lot of documents during World War II. The best I can tell you is to look up the Celtic and Cornish history on Wikipedia.

  • My grandfather was a Scot and my granny was Irish. Just as it should be hahaha! I give credit to the Irish for hanging in when others would perish, for giving it one more try and somehow managing to laugh while doing it. As for the Scots I say no one could go into battle more crazed and focused at the same time; they never willingly gave up their lives in battle but fought to the death instead. I feel both of those within me and feel blessed. I love this music. It's just what I need.

  • @zzahier--thanks for posting this music. I've been listening to the pipes about 15 years, and havent heard any pipe music quite like this. Cornish March is my favorite so far out of your postings. Thanks again!

  • Any idea why it is called a Cornish March ?

  • because of the march from Cornwall to London in year 1497- Cornish rebellion i guess

  • @jowankereve Cornish also refers to the Welsh.

  • @BeenyBroadcasting

No...Cornish refers to the Cornish in Cornwall. The Welsh are from Wales.

  • @msriaidoka

Historically they were one and the same country, but due to illegal English immigration there was a bit of a split, and now both have different, although similar on some points, cultures so be proud to call yourself either one, better that than a saxon!

  • I love this one :)

  • I am an America, but my soul and my blood is from Scotland....Ard Choille! The Clan MacGregor will rise to claim what is theirs oneday!

  • what is theirs?

  • Clan MacGregor controlled much of the Highlands between Loch Lomond and Stirling.

Clan Campbell stole much of what the MacGregors controlled with the help of the English.

  • oh, how do you suggest they regain whats theirs?

  • @ghampton106 There isn't much of the Highlands between Loch Lomond and Stirling, just thirty miles of what would nowadays be hard put to be described Highland. Clan Campbell had possession of Loch Awe since the time of Robert The Bruce, long before the Union of the Crowns. so it had little to do with the English. The MacGregor clan has as much chance of rising one day to claim what is rightfully theirs as does the Mescalero or the Nez Perce - that is to say "None."

  • Not if Clan Colquhoun tries to stop you again but this time we will be smarter

  • Still sore about Glen Fruin?

  • Excellent posting, thank you so much. It sounds like the pipes are tuned in "just intonation." I just love these ancient mixolydian modal melodies.
