Went swimming in my pool with blackberry pearl. Its still getting power surprized about that. I put it in rice to soak up the moist screen.. any ideas
@BCEXTREME311 Start looking for a replacement phone. Most of the time a water damaged phone has more items that blow out or are damaged than are worth fixing. Basically it would cost more to replace all the bad parts than just replace the phone.

Hey, my friend dropped her Blackberry Pearl in some water and now has the "white screen of death". What do you suggest? Would it just need a replacement of the screen or the entire motherboard? Please get back to me ASAP. Thanks
Thanks a million for the video. The pearl button on mine goes dead and I have to use the enter key. I used some alcohol and it worked however the alcohol got behind the glass and it's all fuzzy, that's why I need to take apart. Is there a better fix for the dead pearl button?
Great tutorial! My phone got water damage and became unstable... sometimes the screen would cut out or ringer wouldn't ring. After dissecting and cleaning out the dirt and salts (residue from tap water) my phone works great again! All you need is a Torx (T6) and one very small flathead screwdriver.
I found your video while looking for someone to fix my water soaked blackberry. After purchasing the right tool, and some alcohol, and watching your video twice, I was able to take apart, clean, and put my blackberry together within a half hour. And it now works again! Your video saved me the cost of a new phone!!!!($475)I wasnt worried about the warantee as I dont think it going through a wash cycle is covered in it anyway. And thank you for you informative video!!!!
I work as a camera technician of digital cameras and I take them apart and repair them. Ive had the most testing cameras to repair. Its clever stuff and i think this is a great example as a simple repair. :) carphonewarehouse ask for 85.00 to repair screen! lol
Very nice video. You sure make it look simple. Hope some people don't break their Pearls. Nice to see that we can do home repairs on what used to be complicated procedures.
When you get to the part where you can see the white LEDS on the (at 2:05) you can color all of the LEDS with a sharpie and then reasemble the pearl and the keys will be the color you colored the LEDS :) Over the summer I will post a how to for everyone :) BTW I am 13 years old lol
Thanks alot..really helpful and live saver

Most of the time when a phone is dropped into water there are more than one issue with it. I suggest replacing the phone or upgrade.
