Rather that women should feel comfort in thier bodies, and in particular with their vaginas as many do not which can drastically affect individual self esteem.

At university studying art, I see many people who remind me so much of her, who hit on a theme, often an everyday taboo, that achieves a reaction in observers and then they ride the expression of others. It strikes me as the equivalent of poking someone in the eye to invoke a response, as opposed to really engaging them or coming up with a creative, novel idea... but such is culture, and people like this serve a purpose ultimately... as much as I roll my eyes at them.
I also studied art at a university. I was slightly older (26-29) than most of the other students, and I was there strictly to study painting with a respected painting teacher. There were some other very good instructors there, but also a couple of (recently divorced) feminists that really pushed their agendas every chance they got. It worked pretty well on the younger students, and I found it quite nauseating that they abused their position, and the student's time that way.

At university studying art, I see many people who remind me so much of her, who hit on a theme, often an everyday taboo, that achieves a reaction in observers and then they ride the expression of others. There were some other very good instructors there, but also a couple of (recently divorced) feminists that really pushed their agendas every chance they got. Let's try a basic query. Would you deny that the health and legal concerns of one demography (women), are elevated far above that of the other (men).

I've shown this video to a wide range of different people, male and female, and I've yet to find someone that didn't turn their lip up and say something to the effect of Ensler sounding like a complete tool. About the only people that seem to find her rewarding, are rabid feminists with a twisted vaginal complex.

Whether or not the system is successfully executed, is aside from the mechanism being there. But if you think women need "empowerment" (which is to say "more" empowerment), try being a male victim of domestic abuse, and finding a support system to even acknowledge that you exist. Interesting, since the studies into the matter indicates that women are more frequently violent in relationships. Women have twice the medical funding for their longer lifespan, but yes, more empowerment is needed.

Ensler is a completely b-grade writer. Her success is kind of like the success of religious rock musicians, in my opinion. Christian rock bands don't succeed under harsh light of openly discriminating listeners. They sing about jesus, and the jesus freaks flock.
