I love how this song was the only song playing through my mind the night my grandma passed away in the hospital. Everything that night fit this song exactly. The way my family sat quietly "bracing for bad news" and even the tv ironically "entertained itself." But what hits me most is how I held her hand when she died, and how it fits perfectly with "so who's gonna watch you die?" Beautiful, but a heart breaking song. Ah I love death cab <3

my best friend jimmy was diagnosed with leukemia about a year ago. he got worse and worse and kept getting sicker as time went on, and a few months back he killed himself because he'd rather die at his own home in his own bed comfortable rather than to die in a hospital bed frail and immobile. he sent me the link to this song the morning of the day he committed suicide. although he knew that even if he died of disease, i'd be by his side the whole way through. love is a crazy thing.
