@TheMajorWedgie if you are coming from ubuntu try out Mint. Also take a look at xbuntu or lbuntu if you just want ubuntu without unity. If you are looking for something more advanced maybe fedora or arch/archbang (archbang is arch but with most of what you need already installed)
@TheMajorWedgie you can dowload tesktop inviament i got lxde on ubuntu i have also tryed it on xubuntu, mint and lubuntu the only diffrence is the apps
standvm. This was a bug in the 11.3 LXDE that was fixed. I believe the bug is in the official openSUSE "UPDATE" repository. So just apply your updates.
Hi, I installed LXDE OpenSuse 11.3 on my laptop. All works great and thanks for the review! Then I change the wallpaper to something else, it looks like it worked but when I shut down (or logout ) and log back in, it goes back to default(defult pic that came with the Suse). How do I fix this issue ?
Interesting. I'm new to linux. I'm using ubuntu with gnome. But I'm not that big a fan of gnome, and I heard ubuntu is going to radically change things anyway. I'm thinking of switching to something like lxde, as I just want a light weight desktop that isn't trying to reinvent the wheel.
Is it fast or is it fast? Yes, it works on my Gericom Webgine without problems. And it's a old machine. Okay, it boots not so fast like in the video. Because it is only a 1,33 GHz CPU and 512 MB SDRAM. KDE or Gnome would be too slow, and XFCE isn't no more a leightweight. LXDE is the Desktop Environement for me! Thanx for this preview.
@micepop Thanks for the comments. A liveCD is being worked on. There is currently a Release Candidate (RC) version of openSUSE-11.3 liveCD of LXDE available. Unfortunately YouTube won't let me post a link to it. If you search for "openSUSE LXDE" you will eventually find it.
You have a very calming voice. I could watch this to go to sleep, I really could.
Thank you for making this video "oldcpu54" it's exactly what I was looking for. It was the perfect preview of the distribution I was looking at (Though I wish I could download nothing but the openSUSE 11.3 LXDE distro as the entire DVD is a bit big, but I can't :( )
Anyways, thank you for this. I have a terrible computer and LXDE looks perfect for it.

I'm looking for a place to go because I have lost the love of Ubuntu since they added Unity. I think Unity has some sort of venereal disease.
