In Goldenrod City, I found a way to get into the Department Store. If you go left all the way, then down all the way, you go into this 6 block square called "Mystery Zone". If I save in there, will it get rid of the walls so I can keep going?

This is a well-known Mystery Zone row, it's been around since D/P, and it's even present in Platinum. You cannot do anything with this, but you can get rid of a few walls in D/P this way. In all games, however, it's overall useless.

In Celadon City, near the department store on the left - hand side, I've moved around frantically, and it froze several times. This happens with the Goldenrod tweaking area and the New Bark Town tweaking area, which means that there must be a tweaking area somewhere. Once, when I first got the game, I made a black void there.

I can't figure out the specific pattern you're supposed to do, but you're an expert tweaker, right? It might help you skip something...

I'm familiar with that area. And no, you cannot use this for a skip, bypass, or any other fancy trick, besides showing your friends your awesome glitching skills.

Bike speed would not affect the ability to glitch to Event Pokemon--a tweak is all that's needed. And I find tweaking patterns by a LOT of experimentation. However, I've found 3 shortcuts that made tweaking perfect in D/P/Pt/HG/SS.

And by "shortcuts," I mean faster ways of doing once-conventional tweaks. Any tweaking pattern can now be reduced to one of 3 5-tiled tweaks, as compared to their original 7, 8, or 9-tile tweaking patterns.

i tried this on my soulsilver, and it got rid of all other people on the screens but kept the rocket grunt. and the shadows of the missing people were also there. i did the exact tweak and the exact way to get it to screw up loading with the rain anime from route 33. but that happened,...

Is tweaking in HeartGold/SoulSilver easier?

I've never tweaked in D/P/Pt, but I managed to unintentionally tweak into the National Park TWICE. Basically, the area just above and below the guard station to the right were pitch black. I can't replicate it, though. D:

I've gotten the Glacier Badge early, by entering the Gym sideways, and bypassing the guy blocking it. This doesn't provide a Lake of Rage skip, but does provide an early badge, if you want one. Still working on the Lake of Rage skip, Nintendo messed that part of the area up. :(

Another run tweak you can do in D/P/Pt is in Route 204 to mess up Jubilife City, bypassing the clown blocking Jublife TV.

Sadly you can't actually skip anything but you can unlock Mystery Gift and get the secret wallpapers and a Lottery Ticket before the first badge. (You can also get an Accessory before getting the Fashion Case, but I haven't actually tried that.)
