Matsushita isn't doing so well these days as he still plays full defensive. Notice during the second set he starts owning when he plays more modern throwing in offensive forehands. I still respect him for trying to keep the traditional defensive style alive.
I agree with you but i'm sure his coach would have told him to try and change his game as William would hit those chps with more ease everytime. That goes for all table tennis players good or bad we learn how to play a shot if it is fed to us continuosly in a game.
Matsushita is one of the most popular players in the world, one of the best defenders in the history of table tennis, but william henzell of austria??who is he?where is he on the rank?is he from austria?does he plays with werner schlager, robert gardos and chen weizing?
LooL! Do you really think that this funny australian ballet-dancer can beat Koji Matsushita?! This video is fake - all points won by Matsushita were swept on purpose. Koji Matsushita obviously outclasses this boy by far...
Lol, maybe you should look into the ITTF rankings first before you speak? 2007 Swedish Open, Koji Matsushita was eliminated in the round of 64. William Henzell eliminated in Round of 32. aka, Henzell beat Koji
William henzell that is a great video, your backhand loop is really coming along. I was just wondering how much spin does he put on hte ball when he chops it? Well Done, Plz Come to BTTA Australia
great match william. like ur style of play a lot. actually been trying to emulate ur forehand. one question: how does mark v xs play in comparison to say regular mark v or gps. why do u use it on your forehand and why do u use regular mark v on your backhand. also what type of speed glue do u use with it?
Tough question. I think I played correctly and would play identically again. I just have to take one or two points more to put him under some real pressure.
All of the above. I would need hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding to start with and a time machine would help too. Although my partner and I did beat Ma Long and partner in France so maybe there is hope.
Gotta love the guy in yellow cleaning during the match haha, kick ass William!

It's funny that we don't see all the balls Henzell pushed/topspinned in the net.

Impreesive win!!!
Just read your article of you VS Wang, LQ - VERY interesting.
Question - If you have to play him again tomorrow, what'd you do?
Another question, what do you have to improve to get closer to those chinese? Power? Quickness? Short-game?
