All of the sources are suspicious to say the least. Josephus's mention of jesus is completely of of nowhere and not written in his style, to put it in perspective for you, it would be like in the middle of class your science teacher started rapping a Eminem song.
Yeah those are really poor questions Imaginefree69.... If you would read the Bible the answers are in there. This was a great video though, I have heard about this before but it was good to see it all layed out! Good Job!
Accuracy??Genesis 1 and 2 give contrary sequence of creation. How many of each animal went into the ark (2 or 7)? Who prompted David to take a census, God or Satan? Who killed Goliath, David or Elhanan? Did Judas or priests purchase Potter's field? How did Judas die? Did Jesus suck on a sponge while crucified? What colour robe was out on Jesus? Purple or scarlet? Which of seven choices were Jesus' last words? Who visited the tomb Easter morning? Who was Jesus' paternal granpa? Heli or Jacob?
On your first 2...re read Genesis 1 and 2 and see that the creation was created... then the garden was created and man was placed in the garden. Then 2 goes on to say that God created 1 more of everything to see what Adam would call them and to find him a "helpmeet" or wife...
As to the animals on the Ark...Noah was commanded to take 2 of each unclean and 7 clean animals on the Ark and 7 of each kind of bird. Read Genesis 7 again my friend and God Bless.
the oldest copy of the new testament is from the 4th century No one who wrote the bible lived suring the time of jesus all stories are at best hearsay and stolen from egyptian myhts can you say horus??
NO the oldest piece we have of the New testament is dated to about 70 AD. Even atheists like Flemming admit that. The same Christ Mythers that gave you THAT information, opinionate that these acient religions influenced Christianity. The thing is 99 percent of HISTORIANS balk at those who even toy with the idea that Christ wasent real. Theres more evidence for him than Ceaser. Some of these Mythers and Atheists would change all of HISTORY to make it fit what they WANT things to be.
Actually, the oldest fragment of the bible is dated 125-130 A.C.E from the book of John, the oldest complete text dates to +-350 A.C.E. The only reason schoolers say The bible dates to +70 A.C.E. is that the book of Mathew mentions the destruction of the temple, one of the few historical facts in the new testament. 40 years after the fact. considering that the average life span was 20-30, 40 years is a long time too whip up a myth.
great video...there has been some new evidence that the Codex W(Washingtonius) is dated from mid first century to 96 AD. It was first estimated by some Catholic Scholars to be from mid 400's? Looks like they were wrong. google Codex W(washington)...thanks for the video...
I'ts very interesting how worked up we all get over this, I do too. Indifference would show that there is nothing here to debate, so...there is definetly SOMETHING here ! The Bible is very reliable in life stuff. How could you chart that varable. Hmmmmmm?
Keep thinking about it. It wasn't even written down until AT LEAST 40 years POST FACTO. Everything else you have here was written about WHEN IT HAPPENED.
(Sigh..) In the issue of RELIABALITY,the earliest Gospels that we have in hand are dated at 40 years. The earliest Alexanders that we have in hand are 300 years. The recordings of Callisthenes were written after also. He wasent out there on the field running with the Officers while scribbling down what was happining. Assumptions like this can work in also saying that the gospel writers did the same; took notes as to what Christ did and said as they watched. This would be a good probality.
I see you deleted my comment about your misleadingly change of the meaning of "historical accuracy". Sometimes you refer to it as "historicity of the author", sometimes to "historicity of the content of the scripture". The problem with many theists is that they quickly reveal their moral bankruptcy when it comes to honest debate. Expectedly, SerpentSlayer1 is no exception. What are you afraid of :-)?
You just made offensive comments to which I reserve the right to omit, and random statments with NOTHING to back up your comments..ie JUST OPINION as again in this comment.
I just thought I'd explain further to avoid confusion: Homer wrote the Iliad when Homer wrote the Iliad. The original Iliad is 100% accurate. Mark (or whoever actually wrote the gospel) wrote about Jesus approximately 40 years post facto.
"The accounts of Alexander the Great were written during his life"
Maby, but Who wrote it? Where are the documented proofs.
Please share.
"The first written accounts of Jesus weren't even written until 40 years after he died". Yes but that also means that the EYE WITNESSES and ORIGINAL WRITERS could probally be STILL ALIVE! Probability that those are the originals in extreamlly high! And if they aren't, mistakes in accurcy could be picked up on.
What evidence do you have that chemicals adapted-evolved into the First Living Cell?

The bible can NEVER be the word of a loving god. If you maintain this, you never read the bible, or your perception of "just, love, goodness etc " is screwed.
There is no doubt that Jesus was in many respects (not in all) a great humanist (whether he was real or not is another question), but there are evidently many other ways to understand "love" and "goodness". There evolutionary development of those attributes (and related ones) in species with social complexity is downright inevitable.
Reply to SerpentSlayer1 - I vigourously disagree with your answer to my comment. The points are that God NEVER removed Elisha from being a Prophet and Elisha is respected to this day. Herod is not.
As a representative of God a Prophet is supposed to set a sterling example for all, to win over converts; not engage in mass child butchery because they offended his vanity. It has nothing to do with not being as great as Elijah. THIS ELISHA SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. SATAN WILL BE LAUGHING!
I was horrified to read in the Bible that Prophet Elisha is a mass murderer of children ! Elisha cursed the children in the name of God and then had two bears tear 42 of them to pieces! Why? Because the children had made fun of his baldness! Why did God not immediately remove Elisha as a Prophet? Why has no religious authority condemned and disavowed his actions? Imagine the grief of the parents! The Bible condemns Herod for killing babies in Bethlehem but not Elisha! Such stinking hypocrisy!
Why do you assume that the Bible condoned Elisha and condemed Herod? The Bible neither condones nor condems any of these incidences but just records them, the good and the bad, as it does through out the history of the Jews. IMO because of his anger, Elisha's workings as prophet were not as great as his predecessor,Elijah. God dident imeditally remove Elisha for his actions, nor did God imeditally remove King Herod for his actions. Therefore theres no biblical 'hypocricy' as you proclaim there is.
Well you are undertaking quite a task. Lotza study and research ahead. Maybe this is ahead of things slightly but I was curious about no mention on Josephus. I know the Rabbi's really give him allot of credit especially on the fall of Jerusalem. Keep up the good work.
What are your sources? My sources would suggest you are using some of the most "conservative" (or I think, quite liberal) estimates. Also, how can sources for Ceaser come so far after the new testament when Ceaser is often mentioned in the new testament? I would have to say your source is bias.
My sources included "Evidence that demands a Verdict' by Josh McDowell and 'The Case for Christ' by Lee Strobel. I mentioned those somewhere in the series, I think. McDowells book is heavely loaded with referances and foot notes, as well as Strobels.
They used many sources in writing their books. Thats one reason why I trust them. With referance to ceaser,
the chart mentions nonbilical referances for him and the others.
I am getting ready to order a Bible online, normally I would just go to Bibleresource dot com and use one of the various Bibles as a reference. Which Bible should I purchase and why? In the past I have used the Amplified Bible, NIV, RSIV . Also why do some Christians accept Bibles with apocraphy?
Its a fact of history that after the Jews were taken cative by Babalonians their Temple and Striptures were destroyed. This was stated by Ezra himself in the book of Ezra which was omitted from the Bible at Jeromes recommendation. Ezra 14:20-25. Within these verses its states: "For the law is BURNT therefore no man knoweth the things that are done of thee". Also, we have the OPEN admission from Jeremiah 8:8. Hence, reliablility cannot be put in this book. Peace.
There has never been a "reversion of the bible either. AS my video says, we have documents and manuscripts and universities where that are kept, from a couple of generations from Christ, that compare 99% to todays bible. Do you have the original koran to compare and prove accuracy in translation and recopying? if so where is it and is it proven by Historians ,not just religious people like, the NEW TESTIMENT BIBLE is?
how do you explain the bible i have missing verses? also in different groups in christianity there are different bibles they subscribe to, in islam doesnt matter what division they belong to they go back to the same quran. even those that claim that they have another prophet after muhammad. that is proof that answer that question without doubts
the earliest copy of the quran we have is about 900CE and the explaination for that is rather simple, you go today and ask the layman muslims what do you do with old qurans, they will tell you that you take it and put it in the sea or any moving body of water. however unlike the bible the quran was memorized from conception till now.
Interesting info naliabar... says alot toward its accurcy ..or very possibal innacracy compared to the superior accurcy of the bIble....dido the Faith.
friend which version of the bible are you telling me is the most accurate, the one i recently held up in my video is actually missing verses that are in most bibles. also your bible says it was being changed... jerimiah 8:8, and most of your teachings come from paul a man that never met jesus when he was alive.
see that is the beauty of islam, there has never been a revision of the quran, maybe the translations there are various words to say the same thing we can both agree on that, but not the main text. and that is as the same as the most ancient quran you can find. lets say 1000 years never changed, where as the bible has had soo many major revisions, and as i told you about the version i have.
read the history and you find that it was not variations as your bible, but the quran written in different dialects. and since the quran was revealed in one dialect it was thought that it should be written in that dialect, this is why the others were burnt
I've read the history, and there is always a spin on history no matter who writes it. your explanation makes it seem that only arabs were worthy of reading the Quran.
This is certainly intresting stuff...I'm curious though about the other so-valled "gnostic" writings, clearly they're not part of the Bible today. Why not?
The Gnostics were a religious group that believed that salvation came through "ancient knowledge" avaliable to a certain few. Their "gospels of Jesus" were written and dated between 150 to 200 AD ...
...some historians believe they attached the deciples names to the writings to give them some credence.
This time gap and false naming are two main reasons they were not included in the NT canon. Another is the inconsistancy in the writings of Jesus from the regular 4 gospels. The "gospel of Thomas" for example has things that could be equated to pantheism and Jesus making wierd quotes that are totally out of charactor with him in the main four.
Actually, you forgot another important thing hisorians historians look for in historical documents, number of sources. Plato, Ceasar, Aristotle, Homer and Alexander the Great have MULTIPLE sources claiming thier own existence. Not only thier own writings, but the writing of other witnesses. I'd like to see a chart showing how many sources outside of the Bible validate the Bible.
Homer was a Greek poet, not a Roman historian. Also, this video is not about historical accuracy of the bible, but rather the consistency of the manuscript over the years. It makes the point well, though.
Awesome video! This is just what I was looking for, keep making videos.

Callisthenes is the closest source to Alexander.

Onesicritus was one of his Officers.
In turn Ptolemy, Aristobulus, Nearchus recieved their info from Callisthenes.

His own deciples; who were FIRST EYE WITNESSES to the Man and the events.

read the history and you find that it was not variations as your bible, but the quran written in different dialects. and since the quran was revealed in one dialect it was thought that it should be written in that dialect, this is why the others were burnt

Hope this helps Billy.

LOL I DID call Homer Roman dident I?
Sorry bout that Homer.:)

Homer was a Greek poet, not a Roman historian. Also, this video is not about historical accuracy of the bible, but rather the consistency of the manuscript over the years. It makes the point well, though.
