She would take different quotes from different places in their

Accuracy??Genesis 1 and 2 give contrary sequence of creation. How many of each animal went into the ark (2 or 7)? Who prompted David to take a census, God or Satan? Who killed Goliath, David or Elhanan? Did Judas or priests purchase Potter's field? How did Judas die? Did Jesus suck on a sponge while crucified? What colour robe was out on Jesus? On your first 2...re read Genesis 1 and 2 and see that the creation was created... then the garden was created and man was placed in the garden. Then 2 goes on to say that God created 1 more of everything to see what Adam would call them and to find him a "helpmeet" or wife...

As to the animals on the Ark...Noah was commanded to take 2 of each unclean and 7 clean animals on the Ark and 7 of each kind of bird. Read Genesis 7 again my friend and God Bless.

Actually, the oldest fragment of the bible is dated 125-130 A.C.E from the book of John, the oldest complete text dates to +-350 A.C.E. The only reason schoolers say The bible dates to +70 A.C.E. is that the book of Mathew mentions the destruction of the temple, one of the few historical facts in the new testament. 40 years after the fact. considering that the average life span was 20-30, 40 years is a long time too whip up a myth.

(Sigh..) In the issue of RELIABALITY,the earliest Gospels that we have in hand are dated at 40 years. The earliest Alexanders that we have in hand are 300 years. The recordings of Callisthenes were written after also. He wasent out there on the field running with the Officers while scribbling down what was happining. Assumptions like this can work in also saying that the gospel writers did the same; took notes as to what Christ did and said as they watched.This would be a good probality.

I just thought I'd explain further to avoid confusion: Homer wrote the Iliad when Homer wrote the Iliad. The original Iliad is 100% accurate. Mark (or whoever actually wrote the gospel) wrote about Jesus approximately 40 years post facto.

Reply to SerpentSlayer1 - I vigourously disagree with your answer to my comment. The points are that God NEVER removed Elisha from being a Prophet and Elisha is respected to this day. Herod is not.

As a representative of God a Prophet is supposed to set a sterling example for all, to win over converts; not engage in mass child butchery because they offended his vanity.  It has nothing to do with not being as great as Elijah. THIS ELISHA SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. SATAN WILL BE LAUGHING!

I was horrified to read in the Bible that Prophet Elisha is a mass murderer of children ! Elisha cursed the children in the name of God and then had two bears tear 42 of them to pieces! Why? Because the children had made fun of his baldness! Why did God not immediately remove Elisha as a Prophet? Why has no religious authority condemned and disavowed his actions? Imagine the grief of the parents! The Bible condemns Herod for killing babies in Bethlehem but not Elisha! Such stinking hypocrisy!

The Bible neither condones nor condems any of these incidences but just records them,the good and the bad, as it does through out the history of the Jews. IMO because of his anger, Elisha's workings as prophet were not as great as his predecessor,Elijah. God dident imeditally remove Elisha for his actions,nor did God imeditally remove King Herod for his actions.Therefore theres no biblical 'hypocricy' as you proclaim there is.

What are your sources? My sources would suggest you are using some of the most "conservative" (or I think, quite liberal) estimates. Also, how can sources for Ceaser come so far after the new testament when Ceaser is often mentioned in the new testament? I would have to say your source is bias.

My sources included "Evidence that demands a Verdict' by Josh McDowell and 'The Case for Christ' by Lee Strobel. I mentioned those somewhere in the series, I think. McDowells book is heavely loaded with referances and foot notes, as well as Strobels.

They used many sources in writing their books. Thats one reason why I trust them.With referance to ceaser,

the chart mentions nonbilical referances for him and the others.

Its a fact of history that after the Jews were taken cative by Babalonians their Temple and Striptures were destroyed. This was stated by Ezra himself in the book of Ezra which was omitted from the Bible at Jeromes recommendation. Ezra 14:20-25. Within these verses its states: "For the law is BURNT therefore no man knoweth the things that are done of thee". Also, we have the OPEN admission from Jeremiah 8:8. The Gnostics were a religious group that believed that salvation came through "ancient knowledge" avaliable to a certain few. Their "gospels of Jesus" were written and dated between 150 to 200 AD ...

This time gap and false naming are two main reasons they were not included in the NT canon. Another is the inconsistancy in the writings of Jesus from the regular 4 gospels. The "gospel of Thomas" for example has things that could be equated to pantheism and Jesus making wierd quotes that are totally out of charactor with him in the main four.

Actually, you forgot another important thing hisorians historians look for in historical documents, number of sources. Plato, Ceasar, Aristotle, Homer and Alexander the Great have MULTIPLE sources claiming thier own existence. Not only thier own writings, but the writing of other witnesses. I'd like to see a chart showing how many sources outside of the Bible validate the Bible.
