Actually on the other side of this map there is another part that allows you a little more freedom of movement. Just go a little past where the bugs are, and voila. Easy Lavasioth kill
...but to reply to that "comment" I don't use that method. It's just something I noted for people who do have some trouble. I don't "turtle" with volga, as I actually use GS instead on him. I used to use lance until I got used to him over on Frontier, so my tactics have changed since then.
for lame monsters akantor unkanlos etc hammer for fast monsters LS for lame but small monsters GS for Khezu doubel swords (because i have a speciall method) for gravios bow archer or cheats (because i just hate this monster and dont want to fight 40 minutes without fun)
Grav isn't too bad. Although, when it comes to tailcutting, I hate that; Moves around too much for my taste. I find GS / DS work well on the legs/belly.
Well, if you wait for him to do his belly slide toward you, you can poke him on this face, or just wait for him to stand still, then do a overhead swing to the face, maybe once more, then jump back out of the way. (Or roll under his legs behind him, then run back around)
Hey, nearly all weapons can use this method, it's just some take a bit longer then others, so choose whatever you see fit for this guy. I don't recommend anything, but it's always good to try out different stuff.
If you got bad enough resistance against the monster, but a decient/good enough defense, then you should be alright if you jump in, do some damage, and get away.
I've actually fought against Khezu a number of times with bad thunder res armor, and yeah, it does hurt if hit, but that just makes you better at dodging/staying alive.
yeah!! khezu trained me to stay alive! ever since i played MH (which i dont know how to make any armor aside from hermitaur set bcoz im a noob at that time) khezu is the only wyvern/dragon that u cant do a "SupahMan" jump so you have no choice but to make the right moves :D
Exactly, and since hermit armor gives a guard skill, it helps when guarding from khezu's close range shock. (Not just that, but some other attacks from other monsters as well.)
O: I tend to use it as it's easy to get for a nice defense quickly, along with the guard skill, as you can use it with SnS/GS also. Useful if you would rather not Lance a monster, but with a different weapon instead.
Yeah, it's not the best, but I like it.
...Other then Chameleos stuff, as that's #1 for me. >:3
*sigh* these lance videos make me feel bad, im terrible with a lance, i wish i wassnt, but then i get excited and try to be good with a lance, i just died against a 2* rath, in akantor armor
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I've not been too good with lance either, I mostly just turtle, since lance to me has been the best defense if learning a monster for the first time or what not.
Everyone's just better at different weapons then others, some people like the weapon being simple, quick, and fast, while others rather use a strong, slow weapon.
A simple method I've learned, is try out different weapons for each monster, and see what fits best.
im not good at lance, but i ownd the solo lava with blacksmith(hammer), just hammer his left foot and watch out for his belly flop attack... it took me about 25 to 35 minutes^^ hope its helpfull
what a coincidence I owned one too with my Juggernaut and 2 with a GS called Plesioth Wave Blade =D...Volganos lack in health but in exchange they are terribly strong...
Well, any strong weapon could be used and it's mostly knowing when to block and then jump on out there and attack, then quickly go back to guarding. It's a hit-and-run method actually, and maybe this method isn't for everyone so you can maybe try using a different weapon and see if that makes a difference.
Yes it does. Same method applies there, though you'll have to be a bit closer to the area change part, since the area for your player to be in is smaller, but wider.
Well it's not really a trick, but more of an exploit. The player is using a "bug" in the game to get advantage over the monster.
Of course it's only really useful if you're still new to fighting Volganos or you just want to be lazy about it all, so people with "skill" don't really need it.
Was messing around in different areas and saw that volganos could not slide to me while i was there taking a potion. I saw him coming and figured I'll get hit, but he just stopped short and couldn't hit me. I was like, "...what?" and then stayed in that small area trying to see if he could slide to me, but nope.
Later I went back to see how I could use it, and tried using other weapons.
yes i just tried this method and it works very well...i used the nargacuga lance last improvment....me and my bro did it...thank goodness i found this video
Well, it works for any monsters that you can find a safe spot to be, but still allow yourself to attack the monster. (Ledges and the like) I've seen it done with some of the other monsters, but I've yet to actually try it out on Plessy.
Well, compared to the 341 Def, of course it's easier, since more defense allows you to stay alive longer...
...But having a long sword doesn't allow you to block, but make you dodge more often.
Maybe some people are not good with long swords, but not good with lances either. They still could use this method to (slowly, but surely) kill Volganos.
Well, It IS useful for people who are still new to Volganos. Also, does it really matter if you're good or not as long as you can hold your own in a fight?
I see it like that, cause if you can play and last for quite a while, even if you don't kill the target monster, it is saying you know what you're doing (either that or you're just really lucky :D )
D: Although MH Tri will be on it's own level of toughness/fun for players, as it is a great game to play which I recommend to any and all MH players, new or old.
Actually, I see it better if they went on the Wii, cause not only does this reach out to other "system" players, but also more of the younger people will play. (Thus, getting a bigger fan base)
As MH gets older, then those people who are also older, will mention it to their friends and/or other people to spread the game's name.
Sure, we'll get more of the "noobies" playing the game, but didn't we ALL start there at one point or another? :D
The Wii is getting less and less people purchasing/playing the console. Let's face it, The Wii is NOTHING compared to the PS3.
About the Wii has that "cool" wiimote which you swing around like an actual weapon, I agree about that. It would be a new feature on MH. But in terms of graphics, I don't. Making the game Wii-exclusive was just plain dumb.
Well, OF course the Wii is nothing compared to the PS3, it's meant for good game play and graphics (PS3 that is) so anyone would want it on that instead.
The point I kinda was trying to get across was that since a lot of the younger kids play the Wii, while hardcore players are on Xbox360/PS3, it just seemed a good idea for them to try and get not just people who like the series, but to completely new ones as well to MH.
I can't change your mind about things, nor will I try to.
Then again, it sounds like I'm trying to defend the Wii.
Don't get me wrong, I like both PS3 and Wii, but Xbox360, well....
Anyways, Keeping it to one system will be an incentive to want to go out and get the system, thus boosting sales and/or more Wii systems being sold.
Sure, I too would have like it on the PS3, but then again, shouldn't we be lucky we're even getting a US version of it at all? (from them skipping MHG and MH 2 from ps2 series)
True. I agree w/ that. More players mean the game gets more popular.
But the game won't be at its full potential because of the sucky specs of the Wii. Wii graphics? Pff. Sure it gets a new feature, which is the wiimote, but most players like the good ol' MH. It SHOULD be on the PS3.
I wouldn't mind if it would be on the Wii, but having it Wii-exclusive? Fail.
Personally, I don't care for the classic controllers on Tri, (on MHG it's required, so it's not that bad since it's ps2 controls) it's weird how it's set up. I like more the Wiimote + Nunchuck setup.
It's more fun anyways then just sitting in a set position and pushing buttons. Besides, Gamecube controllers can't be used.
Oh, thanks! I know I'm not quite a great player and all, but it doesn't matter if the player loves the game for what it is, not "how" it is. MH's like a drug to me. :D
Yes, it can also work with Gun lance. Works with all weapons but some allow you to guard better then others, so it's mostly based on weapon preference.

You do mention about it's graphics a lot.
You played the ps2 versions, right?
It still looks the same from MH>MHG/Dos>MH(F/P)1/2/2G
but now on the Wii, it's much nicer.
As far as I know, reason why they didn't put on the ps3 was due to the cost OF the game. If they had more money then it would have been on the ps3.
Anyways, does it really matter to you how good it looks instead of how good it plays?
bluebananabomb 2 years ago
I could make a similar remark about Frontier. It's much more graphically detailed but why didn't they put Tri on that "system" either?
Then again, I could just be trying to push the fact that Tri's coming to Wii and it can't be changed. Oh well. Things happen for a reason.
Also, this comment chain is getting a little big, don't you think? If you want to continue, we could via PM. :D
