Actually, you're both wrong and right. The otolithic particle repositioning manoeuvre consists of first a Hallpike manoeuvre followed by Epley's 3 step manoeuvre.
this is NOT the epley manoevrre which aims to move otoconia from the posterior semicircular canal... it is the dix hallpike manoevre which tests for vestibular disorders/lesions, by performing such test and observing for any nystagmus.
1. The Cervical spine is not in 30 degrees extention.
2. The positions are not held for the required time.
3. Most practitioners have moved away from having the neck over the edge of the table/gurney by using a pillow under the shoulders and an adjustable couch
inclined 20 -30 degrees
4.The final position is wrong, the eyes should be looking down.
it works. really works.

Is it normal to feel heaviness in the ears after doing this exercise? And how many times should it be done per day?
Thanks

This is not a dix-hallpike. It is an Epley manoeuvre, though performed imperfectly...

Nonetheless, it's extremely helpful to see the basic moves in this short video. So thanks for the video and the suggested adjustments.
