What I love about Morrowind, is it's a game where you slay gods and demons. Yet in the end, the hardest enemy in the whole game is a little pissed off, jerk of a Bosmer.
Man, I needed like 4 tries at level 25 before I got this annoying sob. Not that he killed me, it was just, I was wondering whether there was an easier way besides outlasting him in a toe to toe /potion grinding fight. Trouble was, my character was pretty much strictly a short sword wielding sneaky Rogue. I hadn't really bothered with expanding my skill set, so I simply wailed away on the guy until his shield broke. Things got a little easier after that. Broke all my glass armor in the process...
he was two hit killing my breton mage, then i went and made some potions, got my intelligence up to 5000, then made some fortify luck 350 poitions, and drank like 6 of them, and took him out rather quickly because he couldn't hit me, and i hit him every time with the sunder :)
Seeing this video, I wonder how my character would do. My character is a Level 68 Redguard with 100 in Heavy Armor, hand-to-hand, and all 6 weapon classes. Also I have 83 Luck, but with the Luck of the Emperor ability, I can bump it up to 103 Luck for 2 minutes. Would this guy be enough to take on Gaenor?
@StoneMonkWisdom Just how high does your Strength have to be? My Strength, before I used that PC cheat using the ~ button to set it to 200, was already at 100. Also would paralyzing weapons be good against him? Just paralyze him and then whack him to death with a daedric battle axe.
@warellis He spawns in the environment with a very high reflect value, any enchantments excluding disintegrate armor / weapon will bounce off and harm you instead. His luck value is 770. Drinking a bunch of sujamma is fairly good enough to dealing high damaging blows when and if you manage to hit. In this video, I power leveled to level 25, check my info / stats 4:43 and the description of this video. Even a level 1 character with the RIGHT STRATEGY (without cheating) can beat Gaenor.
Now that i've seen this guy and his stuff, it reminds me of how i got my ebony suit and a daedric war axe.
I was just running around with boots of blinding speed and a levitate pot when i saw a shrine, having no idea of what kind of enemies would be in. I stumbled upon a guy with that full set of armour, except for the helmet, which is a nordic trollbone, who got bugged next to the stairs.
I had the 6th house hammer so it wasn't really difficult to kill him...
I was lv 29 when doing this... :O Almost full daedric from divath yr(or somehting) at tel fyr tower. Hopesfire from tribunal and 100 hand to hand skill from holamayan master trainer to beat him up and start hitting with trueflame after that :3 In the end he wasn't that hard.
Hha, so I was playing Morrowind for real for the first time. Came across this guy and I knew he was a jerk after I gave him the first 50. I thought maybe he would shut up after I gave him another 100. Then I was pissed. Then I'm on YT and just typed in Morrowind Tribunal and this is the first video I come across. STRANGE!
@StoneMonkWisdom Definitely helpful man, I now know exactly how I'm going to handle this dude. I just happen to be an Archer, so I'll hop on a rock! Thanks
@Krondelo Don't forget to bring a dozen Sujamma to boost strength after making it to the rock, in the 60 seconds you have after drinking them all, it shouldn't take that many hits to take him down (but remember he has slow health regeneration 1pt a second) but don't forget his dangerously high luck. I recommend having a couple dozen Luck Fortifying potions as well would greatly assist this strategy. =)
Personally, I'd opt for use of Bound Longbow in this situation. Good "Luck!" XP
This little bastard killed me dozens of times when all I wanted was his armor and I'd tried to help before. I got so pissed off! I killed him by jumping on a rock and exploiting him hahaha. Thanks of the video I'll try this method if I play again that little bastard!
Amazing, I finally find a video of how to fight this guy and it turns out I actually have one character designed perfectly for this guy, since she has great hand to hand, long blade and strength, and uses heavy armour, meaning once he's been boxed to death I can use his full suit of ebony armour. I don't even particularly care about the amulet's luck boost, that's a minor perk compared to the ebony armour which is a pig to find. Time to go Falcon Punch on his arse.
@giygasattack Well, there are a few "easier" ways to go about fighting Gaenor and in this video, I decided to use Hand-to-Hand style. Other ways would be drinking lots of potions to stack effects and have "superhuman strength" for when you do land a hit with a sword or whatever else. Since most Magic is reflected back on you... the best way would be physical... so hand, close range weapon, and long range weapon (marksman) are the main ways, and fortification potions.
The reason I was looking for a video to help in the first place is because I spent literally half an hour with about 300 luck and Illkurok (different character to the one I mentioned that uses long blade etc) I literally landed zero hits. That was with a character with 75 agility and luck enhanced by a metric fuckton of potions. I know Gaenor has 770 though, so clearly I needed several metric fucktons of potions, or a miracle. Damaging the guy probably isn't the problem, it's hitting the sod.
Continued... I mentioned Illkurok by name so you know I was using a spear with no magic effects to reflect back on me. My character can actually last quite a while taking his hits, thanks to insane glass armour, but it doesn't matter how long you survive against someone you can never hit. I guess part of the problem is that character having only 54 Spear skill even with the 10 boost from Illkurok though.
Well sod that, turns out the perfect accuracy punch was patched out or something since I can't hit him with fists either, even using my character with 61 Hand to Hand. I'll just have to use the custom armour maker in the Craftsmen's Hall for my ebony needs. Glad I didn't sell that 29 pieces of ebony I stashed in that crate in front of the Balmora Mage's Guild after all. Shame I'll need something like 200 for the full set, but there's plenty of ebony mines around.
Hand to Hand drains fatigue each hit, regardless of godlike luck that Gaenor has, a weapon even at 100 skill and high agility would still miss a lot. That's why I weakened him an alternative way.
i thought gaenor was impossible when i first heard about him, then i grew to my max lvl raised hand to hand to 100 got 100 heavy armor full daedric crysmere and used the hand to hand strategy to pwn him lol
I can't beat him. I was hitting him with a bound longbow and a steel crossbow and he took no damage. I need help. Also all the magic skills i have are misc (big mistake)
He's lucky, with a grand total of 770 Luck. The best way to even things up is to gain a significant boost in any one attribute through potion stacking. It's actually recommended your level 25+ for this expansion as higher level player characters will find it enjoyable.
Personally, with marksman, I'd buy a ton of Sujamma. Run over to a rock to the right side of the temple after Gaenor enters attack mode chasing you. You drink the sujamma, all of it, then hope you hit gaenor enough times to deal massive damage and defeat him within 60 seconds of drinking the sujamma.
I also have a problem with the one crazy lady in Godreach. I can't beat her with her poison and paralyze arrows. I have a short blade skill of 30 and a dagger with 20 secs paralyze. So I'm trying that out. If that doesn't work then I need help.
wow thx man, when i wanted 2 know if u fought this guy u really deliver answers, my guy uses illusions long blades and marksman so if u have any tips ill b greatful
FYI: my character's marksman is minor not major but my destruction and light armor r on lvl 61
Hmm, I'd say that you should go out and buy a bunch of Sujamma (alcoholic drinks that increase strength) and if possible getting a bunch of agility and luck fortification potions. At least 20 of each potion, Then save your game before entering the area, once he spots you and attacks enter your menu and drink all the potions This will give you a major boost. Make sure to also have quality or better Health Restoration potions on hand. Then proceed with your best Long Blade weapon (no enchantment).
You could use Bound Long Blade if you want, Bound Longblade is a good option if you don't have a strong weapon. Also if you have those potions, then if your Marksman value was high enough you could snipe him on a rock in the west courtyard of the temple and he wouldn't be able to reach you.
I opted for the Hand to Hand style and carefully maneuvered to avoid most of his attacks, after knocking him unconscious, I wailed on him with my Long Blade.
Gaenor's Luck is like 770, and Luck makes for incredible evasiveness and random wild damage. I think 75+ is decent to fight gaenor with but with enough potions I think things will work out.
ok cool, ill just do the money glitch go train and then use my bound bow, then use a potion that fortifys my marksman, if not ill make a new bound bow that will upgrade my marksman by, idk 50 or 60, that shud even the odds rite?
just let'in u know im still workin on it but if u still playin this game i can tell u how 2 get a summoning spell that never goes away for dremora, u can make a whole army of them, so if u want let me know ite?
Keep up the hard work and I'm aware of most of the exploits in Morrowind, I play off and on but it's been a couple months since I've played. When I return to the game I plan to record various quests and missions in the game according to there proper titles as found on the uesp site (unofficial elder scrolls pages). It's a great resource for details of system mechanics, spell effects, quest lines, and even an overhead interactive map to help navigate through Morrowind.
Good job, Gaenor can stand up to a lot but even he cannot defeat an army. Good choice using Dmerora as even about 100 Golden Saints can't defeat him, though I saw this one video where only about 2 survived >_> Anyway, keep up the hard work! =)
thx, 2 b honest i used the flame storm and frost atronarch first but they ended up killing eachother so yea,who says an army of demons cant solve ur problems XD
I might replay a little of morrowind and beat up Gaenor in various ways and upload a bunch of videos XP Including the Army of monster thing and that has to be the best line I've heard about morrowind "Who says an army of demons can't solve your problems." XD
yup, it just came 2 my mind, just recently though i tried out this glitch in the game that makes fortification spells permanent and yea u know wat i was thinkin, i went 2 a village and thought 2 myself, "i came here for 2 reasons to chew gum and kik ass, and im all outta gum." lmao
Personally, I'm not into exploits and glitches in game that make my character go beyond the normal limitations of the "vanilla" gameplay but that's just how I roll so to speak. XP
Also with videos, I sometimes take requests but also I like to go about my own business too, so I might get to it in a few days or a couple months if at all. I found one mercenary to be hired in Mournhold and he stands around int he center of the city square.
I could defeat gaenor at level 1 without cheating with a specific strategy, Archer on a rock! LOL It would work, just need to increase Luck, Agility, and Strength to deal massive damage. Sujamma, and other fortification potions would do the trick.
I've also thought up other ways to defeat gaenor, like Command Humanoid spells... cast some long lasting ones on the guards and have them duel Gaenor for you, not sure on the results of that though.
ya you go into this cave and beat one of dagoths servants and then he gives you corprus and then you have to go to tel fyr to get it cured then no more disease effect you
well i would look for delerious naked ppl around nord villages on solstheim if you still cant find them then your just not looking hard enough also always look at night or you probably will mistake one for a berserker but seriously not that hard my brother isnt to good at this game and became one although i cant become one myself because im already immune to all disease because of main quest on vardenfell
just murdered him in about 3 hits its fun though the guards kinda got mad at him so i let them kill him basically i hit him once almost nocked him right out but then i let him chase me around my 2nd and 3rd hits missed and a guard got in the way and every guard around started pummeling him it was hilarious even better when i made that nord die in a certain way it looked like he was upside down on the side of a building
like want something bazare but powerful or raw power armour ill make it and give you the means to make it aka just pm me and ill give you what you need within a day or 2 because im only one person and have limits to the amount of time i can stay on one thing before i get tired
that little guy isnt so tough then again im about level 9 and have sunder the secret to my succes is i got azuras star and summon golden saint + soultrap i now how about 300 speed, strength, and endurance but thats just me and my enchanting hobby also i like to enchant things to make powerful object but sadly since i have keening and sunder im afraid to enchant another right glove mainly because im lazy and dont save often if some ppl would like some speacil things ask and ill figure it out
I don't know what to say. Gaenor is annoying. I love it when the woman says "Another perfect day in Mournhold"- it's just amazingly awesome.. You seem to know something about Morrowind, but it doesn't look like you have done a lot of quests.. I guess you played the game with more characters over and over again? I had only one good character because I don't like starting over. I was a strong character, though, and Gaenor went down with a couple of blows.
I've done many quests with other save files but because it's been awhile since I last played, I decided to make some quest videos. I haven't beaten tribunal so I figured why not start here with a relatively new character leveled to 25th level.
I have done most all the Mages Guild quests and became the master of that guild before and done a great deal of miscellaneous quests with various characters over the past years.
There was one time I one-hit Gaenor to death and that was a sort of fluke.
reasons why i loved this video 1: the guys like a real life hobo always asking for more change 2: i love how the guards dont help 3: you take him down using a combination of your fists and some spells and potions 4: the lady that says its a nice day in mournhold while standing on top of the dead guy 5: epic walkaway at the end
This game is pretty interesting and HUGE! Check out some other 'Morrowind' videos of mine if only even out of curiosity. I was introduced to the game awhile back by a friend of mine and I would say it's one of my top favorite PC games. (Also on Xbox which is the version you see in my videos)
Gaenor is a commoner when you first meet him and is able to be defeated unless he teleports away which is what he would do. 300 HP and level 1 as a commoner. However, I wanted the Ebony Armor as my prize in addition to his amulet that grants a fortification constantly to Luck.
Gaenor is actually quite tough if your not prepared. Hand to Hand drains Fatigue (Stamina) and knocks a fella unconscious and even being Lucky can't protect Gaenor from fisticuffs, super saiyan punches.
One player Perma-summoned 80 Golden Saints and while they were fighting with Gaenor, it took a very long time in battle and all left afterwards were merely a couple still standing. Gaenor is capable of fighting armies with his Luck.
Having so much luck means direct weapon confrontation would be pointless without the strategies I given thought too. So if I fought him with a weapon, I'd likely use up all my health potions before he would take me down. Wild lucky swings can deal massive damage.
But it's pretty funny

thats wats up, and last nite, yes wit my army of the dremora i have beaten that little bastard, and i lvl'ed up quiet handsomly
fablefate8 2 years ago
Good job, Gaenor can stand up to a lot but even he cannot defeat an army. Good choice using Dmerora as even about 100 Golden Saints can't defeat him, though I saw this one video where only about 2 survived >_> Anyway, keep up the hard work! =)

thx, 2 b honest i used the flame storm and frost atronarch first but they ended up killing eachother so yea,who says an army of demons cant solve ur problems XD
fablefate8 2 years ago
I might replay a little of morrowind and beat up Gaenor in various ways and upload a bunch of videos XP Including the Army of monster thing and that has to be the best line I've heard about morrowind "Who says an army of demons can't solve your problems." XD
StoneMonkWisdom 2 years ago
yup, it just came 2 my mind, just recently though i tried out this glitch in the game that makes fortification spells permanent and yea u know wat i was thinkin, i went 2 a village and thought 2 myself, "i came here for 2 reasons to chew gum and kik ass, and im all outta gum." lmao

I found one mercenary to be hired in Mournhold and he stands around int he center of the city square.

also do vids of where to get mercs. and those pets in mournhold, i have no clue where those r

I used gold cheat and give him gold up to 1mil.
he said that no one walks 1 mil in his pocket and never talked to me again.
24hrs after he was there with ebony armor and weapon.
he attacked me. I killed him after 25 mins of fighting.

StoneMonkWisdom 2 years ago
really? I've read two different thingsd on how to kill him, and neither of them worked. I would have never thought of useing the local brew
JonasIsdiaNeravar 2 years ago
i used to have to summon MASSIVE amounts of dremora. thanks

ya you go into this cave and beat one of dagoths servants and then he gives you corprus and then you have to go to tel fyr to get it cured then no more disease effect you
gohog3 2 years ago
well i would look for delerious naked ppl around nord villages on solstheim if you still cant find them then your just not looking hard enough also always look at night or you probably will mistake one for a berserker but seriously not that hard my brother isnt to good at this game and became one although i cant become one myself because im already immune to all disease because of main quest on vardenfell

for one i have a life i have friends i have a lot of free times and im realy into this game plus i need something to do
gohog3 2 years ago
just murdered him in about 3 hits its fun though the guards kinda got mad at him so i let them kill him basically i hit him once almost nocked him right out but then i let him chase me around my 2nd and 3rd hits missed and a guard got in the way and every guard around started pummeling him it was hilarious even better when i made that nord die in a certain way it looked like he was upside down on the side of a building

FilipCesarCeki 2 years ago

StoneMonkWisdom 2 years ago
Ok thanks! I'll look at em :3

Gaenor doesn't look that strong of a guy. But looks can be deciving.
Man, Gaenor is a bad begger. Down on his luck my right foot, he has 770 of it!
That was rude! Its a shame you can't get your money back.
HAHA! YOU FALL DOWN FOOLISH BOSMOR! XP

StoneMonkWisdom 2 years ago
One player Perma-summoned 80 Golden Saints and while they were fighting with Gaenor, it took a very long time in battle and all left afterwards were merely a couple still standing. Gaenor is capable of fighting armies with his Luck.
Having so much luck means direct weapon confrontation would be pointless without the strategies I given thought too. So if I fought him with a weapon, I'd likely use up all my health potions before he would take me down. Wild lucky swings can deal massive damage.
