  • Yes the coaches are monsters, but if the kids really hated it they would quit. it's not like the parents force them to be gymnasts. even if they do the kids don't have to do it! the coaches could yell and hit them and force them to stretch but they can't do any actual gymnastics unless they choose to! they may cry sometimes cause it's hard but for the most part they're happy about their success!

  • @francescaelena1 actually in foreign countries most of the time children are sent away to train at these facilities. they want to keep doing it to make their families happy but they hate the training itself.

  • not you the man who broke her leg

  • you fuking sad tink

  • Some Russians are so gay...

  • @frenchfriesMc alrite excusee me but saying that some russians are gay is so unecessary and rude ok? for ur information russian people may be very strict and tough but thats the way they do things and it also gives you absolutely no right to say that. For your information, look at americans and look at the russians. both gymnastics teams are amazing and both are very talented except the difference is they are trained MUCH harder. but calling them gay makes absolutely no sense thank you very much

  • D= AHH POOR CHILDREN

  • GO HARD OR GO HOME. THESE COACHES ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD

  • Now this looks roughly, but after all, they r the best in the world..!!

  • Once again, grown ups trying to live their dream through the children.

  • no wonder everyone in america is fat, they let their children do whatever they want "OMG MY CHILD IS A DELICATE LITTLE FLOWER"

  • @spartan1081990 A-fucking-men.

  • @Evamarialotte there speaking perfect British English bucuz that are English

  • There speaking perfect British english bucuz they are English

  • Did anyone wonder why they are all speaking a perfect British English in this video?!?!?!?

  • @EvaMariaLotte um no not really, I mean British people all speak perfect British, don't they?????? lol

  • But it works..

  • I've seen finominal gymnasts and dancers that had coaches/teachers that were very nice, helping, and not very strict. People can become amazing both ways, so why not choose the right way? Be less hard on them! It's that simple!

  • I prefer a free child than a good national gymnast

  • do you have the full version oft his programme i would love to see it again. thanks.

  • I enjoi going too gymnastics and i am not treated like this these coaches r just a holes

  • russians are the last europeans that are not fags... if u see other europeans countries, people there are pussies... they r being colonized by their immigrants and they even dont do anything. hahaha

  • Screw this I'm going back to the talking cat

  • I bet that if you did anything like that to anybody at my school, they would be the ones getting smacked

  • this is like half and pixel quallity -.-

  • Wow Britain...you only started to metal this year...you don't even know how to really train gymnast...of course Russia is different..they obviously do it differently...they seem to win more metals even in a slump...this was blown way out of the water..bad journalism.

  • @philohan95 haha funny how stuff like that happens. somehow i switched from color guard to gymnastics!

  • ihv always been told (even though i am a dancer) you have to love what you are doing so much that you even love the pain!

  • There not suppose to strech the kids that forcfully they can rip a muscle like that or worse

  • lol how the fuck did i get here from whatching tomska asdfmovie? :S

  • It's going on like this in several places around this world, if you guys have not noticed yet. It's just that China and Russia are most popular for this...

  • if those trainers hit my kid i beat the living hell out that trainer and send him to the hospital and be as mean to him as he was to my kid

  • @12344richard fuck off get a grip you would get your ass handed to you by an ex-competitive gymnast.

  • i hate russian coaches they are evil=(

  • That's why gimnasts and ballet dancers are capable to go well beyond in physical achievements than any other athlethe.

  • Ok... so why do they have to be so hard on the kids???? Brutality only breaks them???

  • Where is the link to the video where it shows their victories?! This is just one side of the story and makes it look worse than it is.

  • @QueenforaKnight victory at what price ? wasted childhood and destroyed articulations ? for mother russia ?

  • i am not agree !!! i am coach in france and it s the same way to coach !! and we have the same gymnast 5 five years to 25 years so i dont think we are so bad with them they love us and respect us because they know that all that work and attention are for them and just for them

  • russian girl talks freely in english at 7~? AS A RUSSIAN I DONT BELIEVE THAT SHIT.

  • @Gigatless she is english you clown, they were visiting the academy from england

  • @scarred10 you didnt get the point, clown. its not about english she is or not.

  • @Gigatless the english girl was commenting on what she saw in russia while visiting, that probably is why she is speaking in an english accent .

  • @scarred10 still didnt get it.

  • Aw I can't believe that guy was stretching her so hard she was crying. What an asshole.

  • seeing this i feel ashamed of being a russian myself :(

  • @team1337er why lol...don't let one aspect detour you

  • the coaches should give them a chance and be patient. everyone gets the hang of it at different times. ESPECIALLY MAKING MAYBE 3 OR 4 YEAR OLDS DO PULL UPS!!!!! EAT A DICK YA COACHES!!

  • Geez! This is horrible! Theyre gonna break them!!! :(

  • Comment removed

  • @mgbshmgbsh i've been look for it too! i remember it being on cbbc

  • Does anyone know the documentary/program that this was from? I remember watching it when I was about 6 or 7 and have been looking for it for ages! Thanks :)

  • Ok, now that is not even half as bad as Chinese gymnasts.

  • 29 people are young russian kids!!

  • @charliehustlenflow

That is horrible. No child should ever be hit and put through that much painful stretching just to gain flexibility. There are much more humane ways to train without smacking kids and screaming at them to do better. Their parents are paying money for their kids to be abused.

  • @megmonstermaniac I agree no child should be hit. At that young of age however to go ahead and get the stretching over with and become flexible is much easier than doing it in your teens I assure you. I will never condone hitting or screaming excessively at a child. You can't argue with results though.

  • it looks painful

  • so many ignorant comments on this video. english kids are lazy and undisciplined. as someone who plays football i find the general attitude of sports people in the uk appalling, and that is why they are mentally weak. there is nothing wrong with these training methods. kids cry because they are kids not because they are mistreated. and the gain much in the long run from learning to work hard and be disciplined. this training is not inhuman this is how gymnastics is done.

  • @charliehustlenflow exactly

  • @charliehustlenflow fuck ur inbred if u have been to any good countrys in ur life and u tryed this being a gymnast teacher u would be locked english kids arnt lazy we dont get forced to do stuff we dont want we do what we want therefore we live in a better country btw im not for UK and they are the best soccer players in the world and calling them lazy ur a fucken retard

  • @FMJxAiimBoT looooooool english footballers are nothing ive played at the highest level in uk and they are nothing special and its not cos they dont have talent the training methods are terrible. uk needs to get out of the dark ages of sport

  • @charliehustlenflow cunt have some respect

  • @FMJxAiimBoT ill have some respect when its earned

  • @charliehustlenflow so you think its alright to almost break a kids leg and making them cry just for flexibility u have a problem

  • @FMJxAiimBoT To get flexible you have to cry for it, if you want to be able to do the stuff olympic gymnasts do you're gonna have to go through a bit of pain. To be honest I'd rather do that as a child than when you're older because the skills you learn at that age will stay with you throughout your life.

  • @BlueFire573 that shit aint legal in any countrys its just parents forcing their kids to live their fucked up dream cause they were to shit to do it and then the kids just get tortured like in the video ur a fuken retard if u think its alright to stretch a kids to they cry then stretch it some more

  • @FMJxAiimBoT Mate, i've had training like that and i'm a dancer in scotland... and its my own choice to do it, its always been my own choice. If you want success you have to work for it. It isn't torture, its just normal gymnastics flexibility training. If it was being done to adults they'd have a much harder time with it and its actually easier on the children increasing their flexibility when they're younger.

  • Teatcher are idiot ! All of training are inhumain ! stupid people ... all of that suffer for what ? NOTHING !

  • That is not the way of gymnastics training. I am a gymnast myself and have never seen anything that serious. Here in the U.S., we train long and hard hours, but our coaches don't abuse us. Take Paul Hamm for example. He went through a strict gymnastics program, but there was just hard work. No abuse from coaches, just support. He ended up winning the 2004 Olympic All-Around Gold Medal. That was from hard work, not from coaches pushing him past his limits and into pain.

  • @MNgymnast25 I assure you there was some point where Paul was in deep pain and hated what he was doing. If he didn't push himself that hard then he never would have made it that far. You make it sound like he just went in there and tumbled and magically became amazing.

  • I used to train at a gym where 2 Chinese coaches coached the men's gymnastics. One of them was heaps nice and the other was freaking mental. Once he put open scissors on a stick and put them near one of the boys to make him do the skill properly. Another time one of the gymnasts broke his ankle. He was told to take his boot off and do floor. Robert was insane!!!

  • looks like some russians didn't get their vodka

  • You can ask anyone in the elite level of gymnastics and i can guarantee you that 10/10 will say training with any Coach is the same way not just Russian...I train my girls just as hard...I dont hit them but they get just about everything else you see in this video....and if you go to any gymnastics facility of high level you will see the same thing.

  • @Benjisvyatoslav20 in my opinion, that has nothing to do with sports anymore. this is sick and disgusting, and for what? for nothing. by the way, you call yourself "coach"? moron.

  • @DuellMeNoob I agree with you !! THIS IS RETARDED !!! childrens need to get everything they want !! to play WOW all day !! to eat hamburgers and chokolate !! to be fat as much as they can !!!

  • @1989WOX shove your sarcasm up your ass.

  • @DuellMeNoob sry mate I canot do that coz my ass is very big and fat from doing nothing... i am not retarded russian to stretch myself or training something !!! they are morons for doing that monstrosity to their kids !!!

  • @1989WOX

What in the HELL is wrong with you! Children do NOT need to get everything they want! I'm only 12 and already I am glad for my strict bringing up. I see the spoiled children at school and I am so glad I am not like them. Hamburgers are disgusting and chocolate is best eaten in moderation. I'm a gymnast and if you ever said this in a gymnasium they would slap you! And being fat just puts you at risk for medical problems later in life. As a gymnast I have enough of those. Shut up.

  • @bbhouk1 OMG I was ironic #@$ rly there is a reason cuz youtube is not for younger than 16... :/

  • im a irish gymnast and that definitly works.i am in gymnastics 3 years and i got my backward sumersault yesterday :]

  • all the people that say that its wrong need to take a look at the results. people will turn a blind eye to terrible things if the end result is good, just shows that our society is too obsessed with results. because they want athletes to be so successful and above the standard shmuck they push these poor kids to ridiculous limits. if you're gonna be successful in life chances are you're not gonna have a childhood

  • I've been a gymnast and I've been pushed into stretches like that and yes, it hurts, and especially when you're younger, you'll cry. But you won't get better if you're never pushed further than your abilities. Slapping/beating kids goes to far, but stretching like that is just necessary or they will never reach the flexibility needed for the sport, especially if you start at a later age (8, instead of 3 or 4).

  • It works for some, some it doesn't. Olympic athletes have precious few years in their prime, normally between the ages of 11-17 are their prime years.

  • this isn't just in russia! it isn't for their entertainment, this is sport! do everyone think that in the us coachers will stroke the heads of their children if they do something bad?

  • Every single Brit I had a pleasure to meet turned out to be a pathetic jealous twat, that out of own inability to reach higher tries to bring everyone else down. This is yet another smearing regretfully allowed by still naive post-soviet Russians that didn't see much of foreigners until 90s. Oh well.

  • lucky people

  • This is done everywhere not just in Russia...it's just gymnastics.

  • God, ballet is just as bad, if not worse....

  • I seen the Russ do the same thing on the tennis courts smacking and screaming at little kids just like this makeing them cry

  • i remember watching this when it was on tv

  • what documentary is this from?:)

  • im a gymnast and my choaches would never even think of treating us in that way

y would a choach have the permission to hit an other parents child that is clasped as child abuse if u think about it

if a choach done that here in scotland he would be jaild for child abuse

  • Abaixo os regimes totalitários (o comunismo é o pior deles) que usam o esporte como forma de propaganda.

    São desumanos.

Só o Evangelho de Cristo poderá humanizar esses países impregnados por essa praga: o comunismo.

  • my mom stent me to a gymnastics school in russia for a summer and i got better than i had gotten in the last 2 years of gymnastics in 2 months thair but it is a lot stricter

  • I find it normal, parents have to be ready to see their children in pain, if they want them to be gymnasts. IT IS NORMAL!

  • This is terrible! Those trainers are so cruel! how can they even hit those childrens?!

  • I think that if you want to be a good gymnast you have to work hard, but I don't think that hitting a child is right. In Russia they choose the gymnasts from orphans or kindergarten kids and then test them, and if they are good enough they get in to gymnastic school, but if you are not you will be send back to your home.... And I think that it's sad that everybody can't get the opportunity, but again its because you have to be number one!!!! ;((

  • @TheMileyDemiSelena11 You realize that that is not how it happens in Russia now, right?

  • i dont even kno why any of these kids want to do gymnastics. its such a stupid sport that nobady gives a shit about except perverted old men(the coaches)

  • @lordofkronos most of them did not hv the choice they were taken from their homes or their parents make them or they are orphans

  • there is no reason to hit a child. ever.

  • The thing is, this is not a sport with hugs and kisses...I trained the same exact way, during the soviet era. If you wanna be #1 you have to learn discipline.

  • THAT IS NOT RUSSIAN WAY OF TRAINING!! Thats Gimnastics way of training!!! I'm Spanish, I trained exactly in the same way, I remember the champions of my youth, spanish, and they were even hit sometimes, not much but enough to humiliate them, even males, like Jesus Carballo and so. I saw it....

I think gimnastics is the hardest sport for children, everywhere. Whenever you see a good gimnast of just 14 o 15 y.o...she's been trained that way. Thats the only truth!!

  • @Neramy no it aint my coaches dont train us that way n we r really gd

well im not that gd started when i was 4 n quit at 7 n then i just went bk in 2 years ago when i was 10 or 11

  • @Neramy I defenatly agree, and it is the same for dancers. I respect them

  • @Neramy thay is im from russia

  • @Neramy This argument would be more credible if Gymnastics had been spelled correctly.

  • @ccnnffpp00660077 Oh, look at you, so superior because of your spelling. She said she's spanish. Gymnastics is spelled with an i in spanish. The more you know. And for the record, yes, coaches like that are everywhere.

  • The Russian and Chinese coaches are the most stringent ... they hit children on training........how these children are crying that was horrible!!

  • At gym I always think that they're pushing us too hard but really they are not. We rarely cry we don't get smacked we get yelled at. I would never let my daughter or son be under those coaches, ever!

  • That's hard..

But it just presents the russian way of training

And as we know, they're not really bad at (rhythmic) gymnastic,ice-skating and that stuff -> cause of this training ..

  • it has good results, at what cost???

  • yeah this is abuse, the child still needs to be wanting to do it, not in so much emotional pain from the coaches that it is damaging to their confidence. Thats not what it should be about!

  • its just their way i know some russian coaches who used to hit us but it was only light and kids are always going to cry when being stretched

  • OMG thats horrible! :(

  • The pain from the smacks and slaps they get when they screw up doesn't even come close to the pain of a broken leg or kneck. It's a serious sport with SERIOUS consequences When a mistake is made.

  • wut the fuck this is lim,e child abuse yea they have a saying tears blood and chalk thats gymasntics but if ur making a child cry then thats eefn child abuse

  • The poor things

  • i hate to say it but love doesnt win the olympics

  • @mewant2win Exactly. these kids are going to grow up and have strong minds. they will go far because they were taught that giving up isnt an option.

  • These Coaches should have been locked up with other Prisoners. Just because you are a Coach of a well respected Sport and are training potential hopefuls does NOT give you the right to abuse a Child. If they were Pediatricians or Nurses, they'd be charged for assault and their license would be revoked on the spot.

  • @Stinkyfart Thats why they are gymnastic coaches and not pediatricians or nurses. Im not condoning such actions as striking or screaming at a child excessively, however, to get to a certain level of gymnastics there are prices to pay. All impressive feats are done by people who were willing to go the distance. Otherwise we would all be able to do astonishing things.

  • @Stinkyfart Good idea. I wish my dad was a cop. So he can arrest those guys.

  • @Stinkyfart Not in a communist country jack ass

  • Does anyone know what year this was broadcast?

  • @TheCouchGymnast it has to be sometime before 2000 because they are using the old vaulting horse

  • dude that poor girl whose leg was being stretched back! she was begging him to get off of her!

  • They abuse the right of this children, this children at their age must be in school.

  • Russians are bred to be fearless. Poor children.

  • This is really HARSH! Gymnastics the coach that was pulling the girls led over, her leg was bending she could have broken her leg if you pushed it any harded and she started crying you should have stopped when she wanted to stop!!!! not carry on !

  • ouch on :36 look at the poor girls back knee

  • @starfish0331 What's wrong with her knee?

  • I just watched a vid to tell me how cruel the Chinese gymnast training is.i thought that vid's original purpose is to tell the world there's no other country cruel as China.but at least Chinese trianing dont hit people...

the funny thing is, when it turns to Russia, only the coaches and the method get critics, when its China, they blame the country...

    seriously, i feel bad.

  • thats awful those poor kids are being abused they shouldn't be allowed to hit a child

  • most people making negative comments here are non-russians. i think americans and english are jealous of russia's success. excellence requires very hard work, the russians achieve it while americans and english just criticise. if russia was spending one tenth of the money americans spend on each athelete, they would be SOOOOOOO far ahead of the rest that americans could'nt even dream of catching up. instead of being jealous of a superior people, you lot should try to work harder and beat them.

  • @samfrompakistan you do realize that you dont have to smack around a 6 year old for them to be a successful athlete, right? Theres a difference between pushing a child and abuse; when a child is crying and trying to push you off of them, thats abuse. Take a look at Kelli Hill and Shawn Johnson's coach Chow, they had Olympic champions and are the sweetest coaches around. any gymnast will tell you.

  • @comanecisalto1 i agree that smacking a kid is not going to produce better athletes. however i am of the opinion that children/athletes/performers need to be disciplined and pushed beyond their limits in order for them to reach higher goals. that may on occasion require "training through fear". its practised by many cultures and on many levels. (cont.)

  • @samfrompakistan I understand that every culture is different, but I have now been selected as joung talent in swimming and I have never been pushed to the crying point. I have had to train hard, but it has all been out of free will. My familly always made it clear that if i wanted to stop and be normal that was allowed too. You can get to the top without fear and tears ( but never without a bit of pain!)

  • @27juni1995 I'm an italian gymnastic and I'm not in an high level, but crying is normal in our sport, when you are afraid of an element the only thing you can do is to try even if you have fear, and that makes you cry sometime. but it's part of the sport :)

    (sorry for the bad english)

  • @3myVampire They will not hear any explanation since they want to demonstrate 'child abuse' of Russia or China through those kind of videos. You hardly can find any stretching videos of US gymnasts not because they do not do that.

  • @comanecisalto1 in most developing countries (including my own) children are subjected to far worse kind of "fear training". at the same time though, toddlers are NEVER put in seperate room to cry themselves to sleep. we find that westerners are cruel to be doing that to their children. i hope you can understand where i'm coming from .... i feel its a cultural thing and as long as its acceptable in their culture we should not be too quick to condemn it.

  • normal kids are off playing & learning & having fun, these poor fuckers would be better off dead, their parents should be fucking tortured to death

  • fuck in jersey they do not lay one hand on you but only if there like doing your postire or something i love jersey gymnastics and i hate the russia and china :)

  • This is nothing compared to how the Chinese treat their up and coming young gymnasts.

  • @lawofjude i know

  • this isn't really surprising..russian dancing is the same as are many other professions in russia, im sure..they are tough people no doubt.

  • thats so freaking sad!!!!

  • :( its sad they do that to little kids but they have to go through it to be good enough for the olympics some day.

  • @visaloverfav no they dont.

  • the coaches are trying to help, but that is overdoing it.

  • omg! justified!? whatever that is just increasing risk of injury isnt it? and thats gotta be classed as child cruelty!

  • Russian people are rough and cruel

  • my sisters coach does this every day. my parents sent hher off to poland and she foes to a school like this. I wnet from ages 5-7 but got injured so I wuit. She is now 6 been there since shes 4. theres nothing wrong with this, shes just a little girl and doesnt understand...she will cry and everything but then wants to get better so she asks them to do it more. they dont want to indure pain but they know to make it to the top they have to.

  • That's stupid. That's not what they do were I live because me sister is 2 and she is atually a good stunter and she never has has 2 do any abusive thing like that. Not 1 time. That's rediculace! Wat parent would want 2 do that 2 there kids? I'm no doctor(i will b some day!) but can't that break bones and joints and stuff?

  • i think if they do it the wrong way it could..i want to go in to sports medicine...i did tumbling and broke my wrist 2 or 3 times.iv hurt it i dont even remember

  • whats the full program to this?

  • USA AND other countries win as well , they just dont beat and punish little kids hmobvajv2

  • Well, I have heard many times English actors say "that kid deserves a good smacking on his head". So perhaps the trainer was watching too much english television. And english shows would not even be in the country but for courtesy to english speakers. So you english really do bring harm don't you?LOL

  • this is why the USA never win first place....now it is pointed to who is forcing.....clearing throat....CHINA AND RUSSIA

  • @hmobvaj2 NEVER? I guess you never heard of dominique daws......

  • never hear and learn it .........what is it and please explain

  • @hmobvaj2 she is an American Gymnast...not the best ever but a winner...she is very good...from the '96 USA Olympic team or something like that....her whole team was filled with medal winners...of course this training will make you great, but some people are just natural no matter what country they come from....

  • oooo OK i dont watch that much of Olympic ....but its not like USA going to win every single events....its more like random countries winning

  • well of course, yeah...there are countries that will crush us in some events depending on their athletes...No country can win everything all the time....we all are humans and bound by ability.....it's like Russia basically owned the heavy weight division for years then a british dude takes it....we all are in this together, win or lose....Love from america to your country...peace

  • what about football or basketball...i dont see a team USA

  • huh? USA has dominated basketball in the Olympics for years, we had a falling point for like 2 Olympics but other than that, we run basketball....football, I guess it depends on if your talking what Americans call football or what the rest of the world calls football(soccer). We are not the best country at soccer. but hey, like I said it depends on the players...just like cricket, I don't know one person who plays that, so I'm sure we are not the best at that sport...but basketball?

  • talking about actual football where they throw it with there hand....i remember seeing basketball, soccer, and baseball vs other country like china or somthing...but i havent see football ...

  • or shawn johnson, nastia liukin, carly patterson, bridget sloan, chellsie memmel .........

  • It's justified by the good results. In plain English (or Russian) it means "Go ahead, beat my child, if you promise to make him an Olympic champion and buy me a brand new Mercedes-Benz". Only God knows how much I hate those parents.

  • And yes, these kids are Russians (you can see the huge D (Dymano) logo on the wall). Dynamo is a huge "olympic reserve" school with many sports and they are notorious for beating children to achieve results. Some minor beatings shown here are NOTHING compared to what is really happenning. I guess coached were told to hold back knowing there's a foreign mom in the gym. Usually it's MUCH worse.

  • Are these kids really russian? Unique kids then, who are able to work hard and speak English being just 3-5 years old.... interesting...

  • No, the kids speaking English (with the English accents) are the ones who visited from England... haha. The gymnasts being shown doing the training are Russian.

  • It's the video of a British mom who sent her daughters (or maybe she was an expat living in Moscow) to Dynamo school of gymnastics (don't confuse with the similarly named school in Britain). Her daughters speak English for the camera, no surprise.

  • @Danusha7800 it was actualy for a tv show on the bbc from around 2000. It was called changing places and groups of children with different hobbies would swap places, e.g. football and dancing, public school and state school, that sort of thing. This was a special episode where british gymnasts got sent to russia while a few russian gymnasts got sent to britain to experience each others gymnastics.
