Just a bad choice, unless of course you're just wanting to Kill something to be killing, and dont really care about game management and the way we as hunters go about or sport.
I know plenty of hunting clubs that would kick you out for that shot.

@woodrowpass not true , i have taken many many deer as they were running , get a fast shooting gun and know how it shoots isthe key . of course you should never take that shot with a 30-30 or anything like that , but my 243 does a good job of it , i consistently hit running coyotes and 200yrds and beyond . all about knowing your gun

Nice shot, I went out for deer this winter, and on the second to last saturday two massive doe came running out of the woods in front of me. I had been exhausted from hunting all day, and I got one shot off at the one in the front with a 30-06. A gut shot, but she kept going, and eventually crossed to creek that was behind my Uncle and I. The first deer I had shot, and it got away to see another day. It really is amazing what these beautiful creatures are capable of.

my dad shot a running doe through a foggy scope through the treeline from about 50yards, i remember that like it was yesterday, i was 5, now im 14. we were packin up cause it was rainy and i wanted to stay and he said ok, well lets pack up anyways, so while he was doin that, i was on the lookout for deer, soon enough we heard POP! and here come 3 does, he grabbed the gun leanin up against a tree, and wheeled around and shot, a fine fine day in indiana for my memory.

my dad shot a running doe through a foggy scope through the treeline from about 50yards, i remember that like it was yesterday, i was 5, now im 14. we were packin up cause it was rainy and i wanted to stay and he said ok, well lets pack up anyways, so while he was doin that, i was on the lookout for deer, soon enough we heard POP! and here come 3 does, he grabbed the gun leanin up against a tree, and wheeled around and shot, a fine fine day in indiana for my memory.

Yea you hit em' but was it a "clean" shot? Or did you just shoot it in the guts? If you managed to pull a CLEAN shot then bravo!..However, I don't respect any hunter who shoots at a running deer. Its a desperate and amature move.

nice! that was a quick shot. i got to see a buddy do the same thing except he had to jump off his dirtbike pull his rifle and take a shot while the bike was leaning on him! it wad ranged later and the buck was about 200 yards. he said he aimed right in front of its head and it blew the spine out about mid body. he was a 4*4.
