  • This Crackle bullshit is horrendous. Half of these videos don't load properly.

  • @pennsays excuse me, I was wondering if Mr.Jillette has seen the Pope of Greenwich Village, a lesser known Mickey Rourke film starring opposite a young Darryl Hannah? He should've gotten an Oscar for this role which close to the beginning of his acting career. Anyways, thanks a lot for your attempt at a non-review-you sold me on checking out The Wrestler again!

  • @pennsays I was wondered if Mr

  • Great non-review, Mr. Jillette. Have you seen Big Fan? It was directed and written by Robert D. Siegel (writer of The Wrestler) and stars Patton Oswalt. If that's not enough incentive to watch it, the premise is that Patton's character deals with being assaulted by his hero, much like you were verbally assaulted by Tommy Smothers.

  • hey penn quit playing with your hair you c**ksucker.your a fat piece of shit too!!

  • @jurdy65 It's okay to cuss, it's not like your mom is going to see it. Also, "you're" not "your".

  • @jannecechmanek Thanks for the spell check,you're a cocksucker!!THANKS AGAIN

  • @jurdy65 Well you also need a space between "check" and the comma, the comma and "you're", and the exclamation point and "Thanks". There's no need for two exclamation points, one will do.

  • @jannecechmanek Thanks again for yet another spell check. You're fat piece of shit not you're a cocksucker. MY BAD!!!!

  • @jurdy65 Comma after "Thanks again". I think you need some punctuation in your second sentence. Seriously, you only need one exclamation point.

  • I`m actually glad we didn`t get the polished,Disney-type ending that some would have expected to The Wrestler. After all, there`s next to no storybook or fairy tale endings in professional wrestling, especially on the indie circuit.

  • epic movie. Period.

there thats how you say it

  • I totally agree, That movie was so real to me. I believe thats why I like it, all the people were real people

  • Yay, I can watch these in Canada again :)

  • the movie spun. mickey rourke was awesome in the movie spun. the talent was always there

  • i completely agreed with your comment on the movie. great post.

  • hahaha made me so so glad my hair is long another good thing for long hair like that is you can rock out to metal or rock and look cooler when you rock out

  • agree 100%. i'm really happy Darren Aronofsky (the director of the wrestler) is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

  • penn, you're a fuckin faggot

  • @TracyAndersonFoxhunt You have Hannah Montana, Ashlee Simpson, and figure skating videos on your home page and you're calling someone else a faggot?

  • @James76255 that's right. they're all cool people. Penn is a fag and so are you

  • @James76255 They're just trolling, nobody in reality can be that big of a douche and faggot combined.

  • Absolutley, dead on! The Wrestler was one of the best chararacter studies of the decade. It was truly amazing.

  • \m/ Hell yeah \m/

  • I saw this movie in Iraq and it moved me. When you experience something that is honest and pure it marks your thinking and shapes who we are as people, if only ever so slightly. For me it was a reminder that we all struggle through life. I was in one of the loneliest places I've ever been. It showed me I was not alone in the things I was feeling.

BTW saw ur show in Vegas this week. Thank you and Teller for taking the time after the show for every fan. That action spoke multitudes.

  • Hi Penn fans. Penn Says videos have been discontinued, so you won't be seeing any new content on here. You can check out our Profile on our Channel Page for more info. We'll still be checking in, so hope to keep chatting with you all! Thanks!

  • @pennsays Excellent review - it captured the emotional impact of this film. Mickey Rourke's performance was beyond fantastic because it was so honest and real. He always was a great actor ("Barfly", "Angel Heart", "Rumble Fish") but now that he's come back from his dark journey he may be a lot less pretty but he's got even more to offer - part magic, part tragic - but extremely powerful.

  • @pennsays Well, that sucks! Anyways, thanks for letting us know.

  • @monicavictor82 You're welcome. You can see what Penn's up to by checking out his Twitter account: @pennjillette

  • Penn,

Longtime viewer of Bullshit here, first time on your youtube channel. I couldn't agree more. Remember the scene when he steps out of his trailer and starts jogging in the January dim? It really captures the northeast perfectly. Especially the way the movie literally just follows him around--you really become him. Plus, Morissa Tome looked even hotter than she did in My Cousin Vinny!

  • Great post about a terrific movie... I agree about the sound being authentic.... But good critics help weed through the bullshit... Check out richard roepers reviews on you tube he seems to get it and not be full of himself... A good critic should be passionate about what the are reviewing and appreciate the art form they are commenting on.

  • i too got a preview screener of the wrestler...watched it loved it as some one who works on the indy level of wrestling it touched me deep down and then when i saw it on the big screen man oh man there wasnt a dry eye in the house

  • Wow, we got way off topic! What did you guys think of The Wrestler?

  • @pennsays i personally haven't seen it, that said, those i know who do wrestle (impact pro wrestling in iowa) absoutely love it. because they felt it summed up why they wrestle, it's not for the money, it's not for the hours you put in, but because they love the roar of the crowd. much like any other entertainer.

  • @bokprop420 That makes sense. Thanks!

  • I'm surprised that Mickey R. had never made an impression on him before. I share a lot of common tastes with Penn (discovering that throught these youtube toasts of his) and it seems dd I'd have pigeonholed him with those of us Waits, Cohen, Dylan, Brando fans who love Mickey's work both in his best as well as some oif his lesser roles.

More evidence that it's hard tp pin down a free thinker.

  • Thank god someone else thought that the wrestler was an amazing movie!

  • Nice guerrilla marketing for more forgettable Sony product. Shameless fat fuck isn't fat enough?

  • @tonzimala Actually, The Wrestler was a Fox film.

  • You gotta love the deep human compassion that online anonymity brings out in people...

Love your stuff Penn, keep bringing sanity to the world!

  • @tonzimala -- ha -- yeah Fox Searchlight -- owned by Rupert Murdoch -- let's make that ghoul richer. No wonder all the subliminal shit in the movie demonizing Iran, forming the public opinion that will lead to a US/Israel attack on Iran (that is, devastating destruction and occupation of Iran). Penn loves making the genocide of perceived "enemies of Israel" seem justified for his undead master Sumner Redstone.

  • I respect your opinion and take on the movie "The Wrestler" I have only seen the end of it but I will take a full look at it now.

  • I didn't think the Wrestler was "all that" Penn says it is. Not my favorite movie of all time. But, Mickey Rourke's acting in the Wrestler could very well be, in my opinion, the greatest acting performance of all time.

I'm not a crier, but I was crying 20 minutes into the movie, because Mickey's pain and life felt so ungodly real to me. He is aMAZing. The rest of the movie pales in comparison to his performance.

  • it was a very good movie on another level than most movies out there, but the way penn hyped this up , there's no way to live up to a description like this

  • Great job, Penn, of communicating the emotional power of this great film.

  • I so agree, thank you for this.

  • The movie was excellent, if you didn't like it we can never be friends...ever....unless you're a hot chick.

  • I just watched the movie today & see why it didn't win anything as its was a "small movie" that was a bit incomplete for my taste, especially the ending which was a copout & left me pissed & wanting a "real ending" such as another heart attack leading to his bed side where marissa? & his daughter were there to join him..which would've evoked more of a sentimental, heart felt..teary ending..The movie was ok mostly..though hard to feel for a man whose issues were self inflicted..

  • Comment removed

  • Man, your version of an ending is what i call a sappy ending. Sorry to be so critical to your tastes, but the ending to the Wrestler is pure brilliance!

  • well, thats your opinion. my take wasn't written in stone, just an example of wishing for something more creative & less obvious//cut & dry.The movie came across too small to me..I see why it was snubbed yet it was good in ways, "real" but hard to pity the self inflicted woes wrestler..I also view that as a flaw as I wasn't "that behind him". The ending wasn't really bad, I just wanted better..but see the directors angle to things which is short & sweet for a reason so I guess not bad really

  • you don't watch wrestling do you?

    That ending was perfect.

  • actually, I watched the movie for a 2nd time & understood the ending a bit better in terms of it fitting into "his world"..though, I still was left wanting something more creative but, it is what it is..I guess...which was a solid movie.Hard to dislike a movie that had the song balls to the wall in it....

  • 'actually, I watched the movie for a 2nd time & understood the ending a bit better in terms of it fitting into "his world"..though, I still was left wanting something more creative but, it is what it is..'

i totally agree...mickey rourke was damn good in the film though, i think thats a large part of what elevated it as a film..physically he fit right as well..the guy does look kind of beat-up but tough.

  • @princesstamika It was a perfect ending in the sense that it allowed us,the viewers,to draw our own conclusions.I do have to agree that non-wrestling fans would likely have difficulty understanding the ending because they always fell for the stereotypical horses"/$ that everyone else fed them about pro wrestling.

  • What the hell? You only liked half the river?!

  • I thought the Wrestler was okay, not great. Aronofsky has done better. I still like your non-review.

  • Hey Penn: You wanna be even more impressed with 'Rourke? Do a Double Feature one day. Watch Year of the Dragon, and then re-watch 'Wrestler. YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE IT'S THE SAME GUY!

That's the mark of great acting.

Sean Penn does it with I'am Sam, coupled with Falcon and the Snowman.

Robert DeNiro does it with Goodfella's coupled with King of Comedy, and then again with Casino, and then Awakenings.

  • "Not tell you quality or critiquings and not to review it just tell you my opinion."

THAT'S THE POINT! I'v listened to a lot of Penn and he seems to be a little afraid of saying anything in case its used as "proof" or "fact".

Seriously just review stuff and say what you think, it doens't make us copy you but it just gives another perspective which is always good. We wanna hear your opinion but your not my beliefs and its a little high and mighty of you to consider you are!

  • i have watched a lot of movies, and true, a lot of movies spin a good tale, but they are also so predictable and flat lifeless corpses, i havent seen the wrestler yet, but i have seen the ads, and im buying it. although i did like rutger hauer's death scene speech in bladeruner, but even from iut's ads, it did what few can do: touched me.

  • best thing about his speech is he wrote it :)

  • this guy looks like my mother in law...she's got white goaty tho

  • hahaha...ive seen wimmin like him, WITH goatee...

  • fuck milk

  • I feel ya Penn. I got the same thing & it was the last thing I thought I would fee from this movie.

  • Incredible Movie. I agreed with every word Penn said and I certainly recommend the movie to anybody who hasn't seen it.

  • 8:29

holy shit he looks just like mickey there!

  • He looks like Norm Peterson (Cheers) with long hair, and a soul patch. Norm is more articulate.

  • Haven't yet seen this movie yet, even though every word I've heard about it have left the person's lips in astonishment.

Definitely on my to-watch list. What a brilliant..er .. 'evaluation' of the movie Penn.

  • Thats Jim Belushi

  • a penn i was wondering if you saw 7 pounds

  • haha

  • penn has the greatest creative house ever.....

  • Incredible movie. Period.

  • I showed this guy is on a CIA media manipulation payroll. Watch for him to do more cover-ups for the gov. This guy is actually a lot like Britney Spears. "I think we should do whatever the gov says" Think what big brother tells you to think, and nothing else. No need to question things, Penn already did for you. Evidence and facts are proven not to matter, the gov. is proven truthful. Don't see for yourself, take his grubby word for it! After all, he's in a bunny suit giving the finger!

  • Interesting, I would like to see your evidence for all that.

  • You don't actually expect people to believe that....do you?

  • ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨ post to 3 other vids

    ¨°º¤ø„¸ Copy „ø¤º°¨ press F5 twice

    ¸„ø¤º°¨Paste ``°º¤ø„¸ OK

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º look at ur background

    amazing!! :)

  • get to teh fucking point... what a god-damned blowhard

  • The Wrestler is the only thing he ever liked Micky Rourke in? What about Rumble Fish or Barfly? Those films are better. He really shouldn't do reviews. The only thing I ever liked Penn in, was that episode of Friends he did. Selling Joey an encyclopedia was genius. He's a scumbag though. Ever see Bullshit? He's the one who's most full of it. He's brain damaged and paid off. A traitor to our country. He's SAG and CIA? They drove up with a dump truck full of cash!

  • you are also entitled to only like penn in friends just as much as he is entitled to only like rourke on the wrestler.

    and he isnt a traitor

he is just exposing the bullshit that usa is

  • He claims that Oswald was the lone gunmen. JFK, 911, and the moon landing happened just as we're told. No need to ask any probing questions. His proof? He dresses in a pink bunny outfit and gives everyone the finger. He IS bullshit. Yeah 9/11 wasn't in inside job, Know his proof? He shows a guy who watched it on tv. What kind of proof is that? The fact he chose those 3 subjects to disprove any conspiracy is revealing, if you want to know who's paid him off. Most people know Oswald was framed.

  • hahahaha is a tv show, he does it for entertaintment and even him tells you the show is BIAS, and his last show is gonna be a bullshit about bullshit.

baring that in mind i should say, Oswald was the lone gunner, 911 (i still have my doubts either way so i cant totally disagree with you) and the moon landing DID happen

what are you saying? the moon rocks come from arizona? common !..

the moon landing is the best thing america has ever done, dont take it away

    and penn is just entertainment

  • Oswald was in fact not even a gunmen, let alone a lone gunmen. There's a picture of him standing in a doorway (Altgens photo) which proves this. James Files was one of the gunmen though, and he used a Remington Fireball with a homemade mercury tip bullet. He clears Oswald of JFK and officer Tippet too. George H.W. Bush and Richard Nixon, do you know why they were in Dallas that day? Seriously moron, E. Howard Hunt was a gunmen and he admitted his chain of command led to Lyndon Johnson.

  • hehehehe i have read that

i was in a 911 truthers rally in vancouver

i like to hear both sides of everything you see, is good to hear everybody side.

but if you read scientific american, skeptic´s magazine and skeptic´s inquirer (which im sure you dont) they kick the ass of the theories. so whose to believe?

hey even the ex WWE wrestler.. the governor from minessota is a truther, and that guy is a clever guy (i really think so), so my answer is i really dont know.

  • The nano-thermite, disinformation or perhaps a mistake. BBC reported it because news reporters do not bother to get their facts straight often enough and were simply mistaken. There, two reasons.

  • You're discussing nano-thermite discovered in 911 debris. Pieces up to 1 mm. Visible with the naked eye. Verified by top scientist, Professor Niels Harrit of Copenhagen University in Denmark, who is an expert in nano-chemistry. Nano-thermite made just for the US government, is verified to be in the dust and ashes of the 9/11 wreckage.

Furthermore, I find it odd that the BBC can report a story before it happens simply because "reporters do not bother to get their facts straight". Nincompoop!

  • "discovered in 911 debris"

I think what you meant to say was "discovered several years later by people who had picked up debris off the street miles away...completely unverifiable evidence"

I think you also forgot to mention that the BBC reported on a building collapsing when firefighters were already reporting that it sounded like it was about to collapse, and that it was a miscommunication in a time of emergency.

But I guess in your world news organizations are perfect...

  • Watch the youtube video "Niels Harrit presenting evidence for nano-thermite in WTC, on GoodMorning Denmark ( English Subs )".

The only disinformation is the stool you've regurgitated.

  • "The only disinformation is the stool you've regurgitated."

What is it with you conspiracy nuts and insulting those who don't agree with you. You know, what you have to say wouldn't smell like bullshit so badly if you were approaching the situation like someone who actually wanted to spread truth and not just be smarter than someone else.

  • Well, I'm obviously of a far greater intelligence than you, shithead. Brains don't mean everything, so I'll refrain from lording that over you. However, from your inane jabbering, I have gathered that you are far too much of an insignificant dolt for me to waste much precious time corresponding with you.

Undeniably, iron clad evidence has already debunked most of the lies which diabolically corrupt tools like you espouse, with ulterior motives.

You're a peon that enjoys being peed on.

  • Do you know one of the main reasons I know the 9/11 truth movement is a bunch of bullshit?

Years ago I really thought there could be a chance, I thought there must be some kind of evidence since all these theories are out there. But any time I questioned any hole in any theory I was met with resonding anger.

    Just like your post.

You keep thinking that you're more intelligent. I'm not here for any other reason than to question your story. Persuasion takes tact, not a higher volume.

  • The truth? You can't handle the truth.

  • What's that you said? Facts? No, more insults?

That's exactly my point. You're making it for me.

Insult, attack the person...even if they are truly looking for facts.Even if they are actually interested in what you have to say.

  • And by the way, I'm much...MUCH smarter than you.

And my penis is bigger too.

  • I'm sure Penn enjoys it up his ass.

  • You're a textbook delusional psychotic.

  • Which textbook? What background do you have in psychiatry?

  • Moon Maniac, How would you know if he's a traitor to The U.S. or not? You're Mexican right? You live in Mexico, not US. Stick to your country, stick to being a stupid devil worshiper. ?666? People who believe in the Moon landing have not researched it very well. It's a B-Movie by today's standards. You have so much blind faith in NASA and Nixon. He was president every landing. There's evidence, if any man really tried to go to the moon, radiation would sizzle them like bacon in a deep fryer.

  • man, i know he isnt

because i read more in a week than you do in a year you stupid redneck.

haha i dont worship the devil, THERE IS NOT DEVIL NOR GOD stupid, read science, evolution is also a conspiracy?.

hahahaha i dont have faith, i have knowledge

and yes, Nixon was president when moon landing happen, but he took office on january 1969, the landing was on july.. let me tell you

thats an amazing achievement to fake a moon landing in 6 months.. what a dumb redneck

    stick to your bible

  • I disagree in calling faking the moon landing in 6 months impressive. I think that would be more than enough time. I would be impressed to learn that our government would be able to keep that secret this long.

  • He just liked Marisa's tits.

  • My comment is for CableReadyTechnoSIut

who berated me for having an opinion on The Wrestler.

    SEE Below.

    CableReadyTechnoSIut ......zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • poon your opinion was wrawg factualy

  • I was just joking1 I ran into penn on 9thAve in Hells kitchen one night. He wasvery nice to me. i feel that rourke should of won, thats why i voted for him. I get scanners too.

  • the wrester is one of the greatest but i wish the ending was better

  • I think the ending to the Wrestler was perfect !!

Why ? Because it is an 'Open Ending'. Open to interpretation. The Wrestler jumps almost out of the screen into the audience. Then you realise its not just about a wrestler or even sports stars but everyone. Hence addresses alot of the topics in the movie.

  • what the hell are you talking about he jumps into the ring, and its not about everyone its about his growing and realizing his time has come because he can't live in the real world, it isnt made for him. He lives for the crowds and if he cant have them anymore he will die where hes happy

  • Hey Slow Down, Sorry for having an Opinion !!!

Look up the Dictionary 'Open Ending' and Interpretation. Then perhaps Breath Out or scratch your Scrotum or Ball Sack.

Your "Knowledge" of the ending is SOOOOO fucking BORING and SAD !!! Hey It makes sense but you come across as a Fucktard who just raped his Cousin in the Shed. Good day to you Sir !!!

  • You're an idiot

  • This movie haunted me for days. Never had that experience before. What those guys put themselves through night after night, year after year... And what a great turn on Rock Hudson/Doris Day, and the hypocrisy involved with that. Great comment, thanks for posting.

  • Alrighty. I'll see it, but it better not suck.

  • Im not saying that Milk was a bad movie, and Sean Penn's acting is as good as he always is, but I think that the Wrestler was, much, much better, and Mickey Rourke deserved the Oscar on this occasion.

  • Rourke, should of won the oscar.I voted for him

as a member of the guild.Penn, doesnt even know what guild he belongs to!!The magic is good for him.

  • He better stick to magic!!!,the best picture hes ever seen, pleeessee.

  • It is fool, what makes you're shitty opinion better than his

  • Penn looks a little like a wrestler when he has his hair down.

  • PENN I agree THE WRESTLER Awesome Movie!

  • Great point on Rock Hudson.

  • Hey did you catch Rourke's acceptance speech at the independent spirit awards ?How classic was that.If you haven't seen it you tube it.

  • As a huge wrestling fan, everyone here at my college said that I should go watch it. Everyone said Rourke was robbed at the Oscars. After watching it, and being a fan, I have so much more respect for the business. All of my friends that gave me hell for being a wrestling fan watched this movie and realized how real it is. I think one or two people even said they were rooting for the Ram after a while. I say that this movie is going to go down as a classic, easily.

  • like everything Penn had to say.

i disliked the end of The Wrestler though...to open ended for me. Loved the film just disliked the end

  • Penn's a Libertarian...in a union? Two unions, actually.

    Bit odd, but okay...

  • I don't think he has much of a choice. It's hard to get work in Hollywood without being a member of a union.

  • "I don't think he has much of a choice. It's hard to get work in Hollywood without being a member of a union. "

    Fair enough.

  • ROURKE deserved the oscar

  • It really is a brilliant movie...it slayed me. Mickey Rourke is tremondous in it...and I know what Penn means. On reflection I felt like i was a voyeur watching it...not a movie goer. It's so realistic. It could be a movie I watch time and time again ( and I never do that )....Merisa Tormei is a goddess....

  • I cried at the end - first time ive ever cried (over a movie)

  • Marisa Tomei is amazing

  • I like everything Penn has to say

  • I just got through watching the Wrestler for the first time. I was so blown away by the movie I have been watching countless things online about the movie. How I found your review and I could not agree with you more.

  • yeah -- it really is a great flick -- you forget you're watching a movie

  • I liked it because it wasent really about wrestling the entertainment that it is, but about real human beings going through real life situations. The main character is an older, former wrestling great and him doing what he has to do to keep on making his living at an advanced age with nothing to show for it but his pride and his name. Thats it for the wrestling as far as what the picture is really about. It's heart breaking and heart warming, but in the end it is REAL. (real life)

  • I have to say, "The Wrestler" is my second favorite movie of all-time. Every single nuance and subtlety in the film is perfect, and the acting is spot-on. I love every single thing about this movie!

  • ok i'll bite. what's your first favorite?

  • "Bubba Ho-Tep". On the surface, it appears to be a campy horror comedy film.

I thought it was when I first saw it. After my second viewing I saw that it has some brilliant drama within that goes underappreciated.

After repeated viewings, I noticed a similarity between "Bubba Ho-Tep" and "The Wrestler". Both main characters are way past their glory days.

Definitely check that movie out. PM after you see it, because I can't fit the 2 similarities I found between both movies.

  • thanks i'll get back to you soon

  • Your reivew prompted me to get the movie. You were dead-on. It was magnificent in so many ways. Easily one of the best made films I've seen in 10 years.

  • You know Mr. Penn, until I heard you opinion, I was kind of pissed with the Wrestler and I felt the story was piss, but that's what I missed it was a movie about characters, people trying to struggle with life after greatness. In retrospect, it was a damn good (perhaps great) film.

  • Thank you, Penn. Great video

  • Thanks for not burying pro wrestling like most people tend to do.

  • Good shit Penn, good shit.

  • Your exactly right. The best movie by far! Should have won all the Oscars.

  • The Academy Awards miss the mark quite a lot. Paul Newman should have won Best Actor for his portrayal of Fast Eddie Felson in "The Hustler" (1961). And there are many other instances of the same kind of thing from the beginning of that award show until now. The real award is in the enduring quality of the art work. Art-sensitive people everywhere will always remember the truly greatest performances.

  • As a member of "the other team", I could've blindly followed the hype that was behind Milk just because of that one small personal relation to that movie. Instead, I watched both, and have come to the conclusion that Mickey Rourke was screwed. Milk was pretty good; The Wrestler was a masterpiece.

  • I felt exactly the same way about The Wrestler. There was never a point in the movie where I stood back and said "man, this is good."

It had me the entire time. It was only afterward that I could understand just how amazing this movie is. It could be the one movie where I wouldn't change a thing.

  • darren aranofsky is also hella rebooting robocop which is bound to be extremely epic

  • I couldn't disagree more.

Understanding the pro-wrestling world, as a smark, the movie was a mirror to it's product. The subtleties and nuances were perfect. From the pre-match discussions to the drugs and the trials that the character faced. It was as dead on as you get.

  • Pro-wrestling is a different culture that should be viewed as it was intended. A side show, but one that you give your respect to. Knowing and appreciating the delivery and the sell, for example, makes a world of difference .And when you know and you watch The Wrestler, you really appreciate the film for representing it so accurately and with such soul.

And even if you don't watch pro-wrestling (maybe because of stereotypical stigmas), I don't understand your inability to see that.

  • One of the best movies I've ever seen as well. Mickey Rourke losing to Sean Penn for that oscar was a complete travesty. They've never been very credible though.

  • come on you know the reason he won, he played a gay man and hollywood wats that shit up.

  • At the beginning of the Wrestler, I couldn't figure out what kind of movie it was going to be, it had this kind of low tech, first person narrative, foreign film feel to it. Then the story just unfolds and it becomes this extremely haunting film. The characters are so real, the location, the acting. It is an incredible film that transcends everything. Rourke should of won the Oscar.

  • Watch anything done by Darren Aranofsky - "Requiem for a Dream", "The Fountain"...they're all brilliantly haunting.

  • That movie was amazing. He's not exaggerating.

  • Wow. I hadn't even considered going to see that. Now I have to! :)

  • Sorry "sleight of hand."

  • mickey rourke best actor its minneasot kid again and i post comments saying I LOVE HIM

  • I saw you on Glenn Beck the other day Penn. & I was wondering what the deal is with the nail polish? I've seen Kirk Hammet paint just 1 nail (pinkie fing) on his hand as well. Does it represent something or suppose to say or mean something? Thanks.

  • The way I understand it, it's used in prestidigitation to catch the eye and cause someone to miss what he's doing with that hand. If you'll notice he's constantly waving his hands about when he talks. It seems like something he just does anyway LOL

  • I wonder if he could explain it as good with his hands tied? LOLZ!!!

  • He paints the nail apparently as a little trick (red is an eye catching color) to help with slight of hand, and over time it's become kind of a trademark with his stage persona. That's iirc.

  • Ive been to 2 ROH shows in Edison, NJ. I was upset when I realized I was not going to be able to be there for when they filmed this movie..and at that time nicholas cage was supposed to be playing the role(Definitely happy he pulled out rourke was perfect) To this day im still fascinated by the life of pro wrestlers lives more specifically the indy. If I HAD to pick a wrestler this movie depicts it would definitely be Jake "The Snake" Roberts

  • BULLSHIT...
