Better it is to be in a church where the Holy Spirit of God is welcome and sometimes people get in the flesh; than to be in an ole dried up religious church where people are so afraid of the flesh that the Holy Spirit is not welcomed to touch the heart of a single person ! I prefer Holy Spirit moving among flawed people over dead religion any day of the week.

bigCLicKeR, I have studied the Greek words, "SHALL COME TO PASS," and they mean the Prophecy "SHALL BEGIN to come to Pass."Acts 2:17

Another Example of this is in 1 Cor 15;51-57"THEN SHALL BE BROUGHT TO PASS the Saying that DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY."

"Shall be Brought to pass," cannot mean that Death is totally Brought to Pass, Because there is no more death until Rev 21.

So,in 1 Cor 15 it reads, "SHALL BEGIN to Be Brought to Pass." Something to study. ;-)

radical: It is incredible how these critics will make sweeping assumptions about these particular places or revivals and they've never been, lol, it is so absurd. I went to toronto in 2000, I have to say at the time it wasn't my cup of tea, not to say God wasn't in it, but I liked the brownsville revival much better, it was more what I am comfortable with. Of course now its 2008, and I went to the Jim Drown meetins in Atlanta, wow !! I just wanna see God move, who cares about all the "stuff".

pekde, how do you define a 'real sinner'? All sin is real! And it's all 'of the world' because the world itself brought about sin. If someone shaking and laughing on the floor is God's way of healing someone internally and relieving them of their sin (big or small - because it's all the same to God) then YES every sinner could do with that! It just happens in different ways for different people, we cannot be judgemental of people just becasue God has touched them in unexpected ways.

I agree that no matter where you go, people will be trying to take advantage of the Holy Spirit or act foolish for attention, but sometimes God asks us to do things just to break our foolish pride. Some CRAZY things were done in the Bible and some people lost control. But if if it is under Gods direction, it is under control because He is in control. some things are crazy but so was a virgin birth. Mary was called a whore her whole life for that. God wants to break our pride.

I agree that they seem like very honest people. I think that many non-believers are so closed-minded. The Bible encourages believers to come as little children, for to those belong the Kingdom of God. What we're watching here is people losing all of the fear and inhibition, coming to God with a pure, unadulterated and fearless joy. It's quite special, and I'm surprised at how closed-minded some of these comments are -- from both believers and unbelievers.

Th bible is a book of people's "experiences" with God.....our goal in life is to get to heaven to "experience" and be with God...Jesus died so we could experience and love and be with Him..most people think Jesus died so we could be with Him just in heaven but that would be limiting God....He died so we could experience Him and be and love Him now too......How can you fall in love with someone you haven't "experienced" ?...enough said.

I have been there about 15 times and never saw any barking or animals. You shouldnt assume unless you have seen it yourself. I have seen the laughing but lots of crying too. It has changed many peoples lives for the better. The devil doesnt bring peace and definitely cannot glorify Jesus! After all these years it is still going strong!!! My whole family was touched by this revival for the better!!!

ezekiel was caught up by his hair and lifted into the air by the Spirit. daniel fell down when the angel appeared to him and had no strength, he lay ill on his bed for 3 days because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations that passed through his mind, john the beloved fell as though DEAD when he saw the resurrected best friend Christ in Revelation, etc. etc.

It is very Biblical, and especially if it produces the fruit of more passion and love for Jesus and his word. I have been there several times, and it is really God! Jonathan Edwards of the Great Awakening said, that if someone falls down and shakes and they get up and love God and their family and the Word after they were cold to God, that CANNOT be the DEVIL. The devil would NEVER do that. I agree. This is all through the Bible and revival history!

Acts 2, they accused them of being drunk, why? because they were speaking fluently in 13 different languages they did not know? I don't think so. It was because they were acting drunk as they were filled. Eph. 5:18-19 says don't get drunk on wire, instead be FILLED (drunk) with the Spirit.

I was once told to read the Bible cover to cover and look for scriptures that both supported and contradicted my doctrines and beliefs. When you do that you find that most of the doctrinal issues against this type of move from God are not realy based on scripture but based on man made doctrines. Seek for yourself. I have not been to Toronto but I have experienced a lot of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and I can atest it is true and it is God. I would be delighted to share my experiences.

lildroopy, keep watching these videos from Toronto. It is very real and if you ask the Lord for it and the truth He will show you. Just stay open and don't let anyone tell you different. The Holy Spirit would love to fill you up!! Read the book of Acts, it still happens and he wants to fill you!! He will speak to your heart, just ask!

My message is backwards lol. Read in order by time... We do have some manifestations or sometimes quiet and gently touches from God, what matters is that our hearts and changed. No matter what we perceive to be appalling or inappropriate behavior God may be doing something internally different. My Pastor attended one of the meetings of the Toronto blessing years ago. He too was dissheveled at the radical movement of the Holy Spirit prior to his experience. He had the most gentle rebuke from God when he attended.

hi hezzzer...the thing is is that when there is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, unbelievers come! The Brownsville revival, unbelievers came in masses, and people were falling and shaking, but they came...why? Because people are drawn by the authentic presence of God, they can feel the TRUTH.

We have to realize that our minds can grasp such a small fraction of His ways and His mind is limitless. And the Holy Spirit SPECIALIZES in offending the mind to test one's heart. He refuses to be put in a box. The moment we think it should look like x, y, z, He'll break that because He wants to show that He knows what to do, and humble us because it is arrogant to think that we know what God can/can't do or what a move of God should/shouldn't look like.

Yes, initially people leave, but it's mostly religious people who have a certain idea of what God showing up should look like - but the Lost will be drawn by His Presence (i.e. the Pharisees were totally offended by Jesus healing people, cuz it was weird to them, and Jesus rebuked them for being religious...but people got saved, right? no matter how "weird" it looked.)

But ultimately, the church grows and thrives (Bill JOhnson's church in Redding, CA where people get healed on the streets daily, initially when God showed up at his church, 1000 people left, because they were offended...but ultimately his church has grown)

Hi Hezzzer... Our Church has been big-time affected by Toronto, and as pastor I have been across several times and been impacted. The big picture is that God is a God of powerful love and the main thing you receive there is that. Powerful love that touches you so deep you want to laugh or cry or both! You also see healing, release from past hurts, hearing God speak in your heart, and a powerful prophetic release. Continued...

Sometimes it's like you've drunk so much of God you can't stand up! Overwhelming! Within that there have been all sorts of reactions and manifestations, and John and Carol themselves would say it's been a learning curve and some mistakes have been made. However if you stuck your finger in a power socket you'd have a reaction. Some stuff can be immaturity, but most of it is just our reaction to a supernatural God!

I'm totally not insulting this but I dont understand why god would want to see people behaving in a way that is so against human nature, basically making a fool of themselves? Also I'm struggling with why he would want to see christians doing something that would turn non-christians off so much and freak them out. I've only just heard of this movement and I'm a new christian, and I dont understand at all.

The power of God has caused people to act in strange ways throughout the Bible and church history. Acts 2 for example, the people accused them of being DRUNK because they were filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues!

During times of revival unbelievers have been knocked to the floor by the power of God without anyone touching them and then lay on the floor as if dead for 24 hours and gotten up saved. This was COMMON in the Great Awakening under Jonathan Edwards and the 2nd Great Awakening under Charles Finney and others.

God often offends the mind to reveal the heart. His ways are not our ways, and when God comes and takes over a person and they fall more in love with Jesus this cannot be a bad thing. Good fruit does not come from a bad tree.

1 Corinthians 14 gives us the standard for Christian meetings and the unbelievers reaction to us....if the unbeliever comes in and you are all prophesying, they will FALL DOWN and say GOD IS AMONG YOU! How long has it been since you have been to a church meeting where that happened? Again this is common in revival settings like Toronto and Acts 2!

Being willing to look like a fool ad King David did when he danced before God is simple humbling yourself. Is saying, "God I don't care what men think of me, all I care is how you see me". As far as repeling non believers I can say that it may do so at first but it also atracts them cause they can see God is real and working in the lives of men. I would not be saved had I not seen with my eyes the glory of God in multiple acts of the Holy Spirit.

I agree with Keith. This is an enhancement per se. As Christians we are called to walk in the Spirit and carry our cross. This Blessing is awesome but can never replace our personal walk with God. By the way, I sailed the pacific ocean listening to Fire by Night, Cloud by Day. The neat thing is that I steered by the stars at night and the clouds by day.
