@Jodabro Well first of all I've played at that course for years. That's the long drive hole, so they have it marked from time to time so I know the general layout (300, 400, and 500 feet). Second of all, I don't think you can even see the disc land on this video, so I give you props for estimating its distance. And one final note, I tomahawk a Riot more than 350 feet, according to signs indicating how far away baskets are. Simply put, these Epics go farther.
@loinclothe You should accually get out a tape and measure it. They make 100 and 300 ft reals. They are most accurate, cause I have found a lot and I mean a lot of posted measurements way off. Many DGers like to boast distances like fishermen boast size of fish.
@Jodabro That's true, people do like to exaggerate things. And I would for sure like to get a wheel to roll the distances with. In my other video I did a rough measurement (with long tape measures) of 480 feet on my tomahawk. Truthfully, I just throw tomahawks a lot further than most people, and want people to see that it's a good accurate drive rather than just a good utility shot. That's why I put up the instructional video. My distances are estimates, but they are educated and pretty close.
@MrNa8er Absolutely! This disc is made for the thumber really, I just throw it as a tomahawk. I hate thumbers and I've managed to throw this thing pretty well as a thumber anyway. Best disc you'll find out there for what you want. Guaranteed.
@sk3jds I guess that's what you were doing when you logged onto youtube? Wasting time looking for evidence that frisbee was gay? I wouldn't let people know that's what I was doing.
The new tutorial is up!!! I've tried to make it a response to this video so you can get to it more easily. If not, just search "Tomahawk for distance: bosses and aerobie epics"
@miamisms Alright, the epic/tomahawk tutorial is uploading right now, so check back with me very soon and it will be up. Comment if you have any questions.
Pleaaaase, will someone who can throw this disc consistently put a very specific tutorial on youtube. I can make it go only if I'm at a high elevation throwing to a lower one. I don't think it's the power in my arm, but probably a technique issue. There's not nearly enough information on this disc available on the web.
@tryan06 Hey, I'll do my best to have one up asap. I'm recovering from ac joint separation in my throwing shoulder, so I haven't been throwing overhand for a good while. Some things to try in the meantime: Throw the disc at a slight angle rather than vertical and bend the edges down some before each throw to get it to flip over and fly straight. Shouldn't be much more too it than that, but if you're still having trouble, pester me a bit and you'll get a tutorial out of me for sure.
I cannot figure out how to get it to fly correctly. Any tips? I throw almost all overhand drives, even before I had an epic. I have thrown the epic about 50 times and its taken nose dives on about 45 of those throws!

@nousername19 If it's not turning over enough, it usually helps to bend the edges of the disc downward while holding the disc with the skinny side facing you. That should give it an extra kick to turn it over. Also make sure to get as much spin on that thing as you can. Good luck!
I just looked at a list of discs approved by the PDGA as of 1-10-2011 and the Aerobie Epic Driver is on it. So, as far as I know it appears that you can still use them.
You should put some more videos up of you just driving that epic, there are almost no videos of anybody throwing it. Its just looks to cool and goes to far to not have any videos of it.
I did my best to add another video that shows the flight of the discs. My video camera doesn't handle the distance very well and it was really windy. But there's another one made by me out there if you'd like!
How did you derive at those measurements? Looked more like 325-350
