Wow--I have just fallen off my chair !! The Manassas double album is probably my most favourite and played the most album. I was looking for a song about broken hearts and Joy and stumbled upon this. I am way impressed !!
Saw Stephen Stills live at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London a few years back.
He was brilliant but it is a shame he does not do any Manassas stuff live.
@misspopanoche I absolutely LOVE your version of one of my favorite Stills tunes....I almost like this more than the original........BEAUTIFUL FLIPPIN HARMONIES.....as an acoustic guitar player myself , I cant think of anywhere I would rather be right now than sitting next to the two of you and jamming this tune.......WONDERFUL JOB !!!!!
your versions are beautiful and are just as good as the originals and in some ways better because of the acoustic feel they have the best of luck to talent that deserves it
A very beautiful song. I've always liked this song and found it interesting because it is a Hillman and Stills song. One of my all time favorite albums BTW.
Truite sent me to hear this, brilliant job. How bout a cover of oh darn, what's the name? Haven't we lost enough? I think that's it. Haven't we had it rough? Anyway, it's a good Stills song someone should do!
Hey Jim, We sing lots of stuff but kinda prefer covering the ones no-one else seems to. It gets pretty tiring listening to the same old stuff being covered. You always seem to make good choices when it comes to covers too.
I am absolutely stunned by this song . It is intensly beautiful. The words- the harmonies- everything. Vlogged so I can return to listen many more times.
Wow, great! I'd forgotten how much I like this song. Very nice guitar work. . .Shuie sounds wonderful, and (as usual) so does MissP. Along with rhopen, I'm (ahem) waiting for you to publish a CD. Yes, yes, I realize postage to the US will be higher, lol.
Hey Truite, Thanks for all the lovely things you've said about our videos - It really does make our day. We actually managed to get a youtube honour today!
Ah, this was really great, Sonya and Shuie. I wish you guys would make a CD of these covers. I would buy one in a second. As I have said before on your earlier uploads, it's not just that you play and sing everything so well, but you are capturing the "sound and feel" of this music to a tee. It sounds like you are using on of those great old analog tape machines, but you don't have to divulge your methods, haha :o)
Afternoon Ron, Thanks again for the great comment.. We'll look in to putting these down on CD for those who want it, although I'm happy to send MP3's by request lol
We're using nothing fancy to record.. infact we've gotta get a better mic (and a stand!) which might sort out some of that background noise. We have a Line6 pod we record through - straight on to the PC into Cool Edit. Percussion is kitchenware and clapping hands haha.. All the 'good' equipment is stored for gigs only :o(
Guess what Sonya, I also use Line6 (POD UX1) to record into... Cool Edit on my PC, haha :o) I bought a mini mac earlier in the year and have been using Garage Band on a few things ("Copperline" collab with Duncan for one). It works well but it is not as good as Cool Edit. However, I would like whatever you guys do, even if it was recorded on an old casstte recorder (remember those god-awful things :o) Talk to you later Sonya, -Ron
Hi Ron, We've used a few programs in the past but have always gone back to Cool Edit..
We had an old Tascam 4 track we used for a long time but the darn thing packed in a couple of years ago - we always enjoyed recording on that, flaws n'all.
We've sacked Wuthering Heights, recorded it and hated it..LOL might try again. I think I may have jinxed it lol..

Hey Gil.. It's in our Top 10 Albums too. A real 'Desert Island' disc.
We also hold the same opinion
re: interesting it being a Hillman/Stills song. A beautiful song we just HAD to have a go at.

i didn't know this song... though I've heard much of Stills, Crosby, etc.

Thanks! Not sure many do know it which is one of the reasons we covered it.. Can't compare then lol.
The double Stills/Manassas album its from is really worth a listen too if you enjoy Stills as it's (in my opinion) some of his best work.
