If you are trying to Restore to it. Plug your iPhone/iTouch into the Computer and Hold Shift on Windows or Option on Mac while Pressing Restore and select the Firmware on your Desktop

Once i has been turned off the Jailbreak stops it from booting up To boot it Hold the Power Button and it will not show the Apple but you will be able to tell that it is on then Run blackra1n "Make it Rain" and that will turn it on

I'm kind of confused because your video says that this form of jailbreak works with the ipod touch 3G but when i open blackra1n and click the button i get the GeoHot screen and then my computer recognizes the ipod as in "recovery mode". I have the 32G, not the 8G. And no, I'm not having a problem with the tethering issue. It's just not working..

i figured it out. So after you do everythign and that screen with the connect to ipod shows up.

You exit the black drop. then click it and make it rain again.

after that it should work.

i did it for my ipod and my two sisters.

so follow the steps until it gets to that screen and make it rain again.

yes, I searched for any issue and if you want to return to normal you can by rebooting it; i ve search for any umm issue/and point of no turning back and there aren´t the only thing that could happen its that when you take your ipod(t/p) to a mac store if you break it or something they will not help you cause you jailbroke it; but if you reboot it then it will be as if you bought it yesterday and they will help you so there is no point of turning back

I installed blackra1n from cidya, blacks0w too from cidya, restart the iphone, and still its LOCKED, why is that?, i run 3.1 firmware....the good thing from this is now I can see my carrier which reads in the screen ¨Orange 3g¨ ..before installing blackra1n all i could read was ¨blocked sim¨.....after entering my sim pin number, it appears the itunes logo with the usb cable, reading ¨ Different SIM detected¨, please connect to itunes.....all I can do is emergency calls..PLEASE HELPP!!

guys this is what i did and it worked.

1. Run blackra1n. It froze for me at entering recovery

2. Run blackra1n after turning it on via turning it on and then letting it turn itself on by plugging into computer. When it freezes, restart by holding power and home.

3. After restarting, Run black rain again, and it should work.

if you turn of the ipod completely ( not in sleep mode)

you have to turn it on by connecting the ipod to the pc/mac then just run blackrain.

it'll turn on again.

make sure u r on the apple 3.1.2 firmware

then click restore

close all apple or itunes applications through task manager

open black ra1n, let it do everything ie. dont put it in dfu mode or anything just leave it on

then jailbreak, make sure ur computer is connected to the internet at this point and dont do anything on the computer while it is being jailbrocken

BUT the best way 2 check is on the earphones that the ipod came with, if there is a speaker attached then it is a 3g

if the earphones dont have a microphone then its a 2g

also the headphones have a remote located below the right earbud.

Model number on back is A1318 (first line under the 8gb box)

if it has any of those then its a 3g
