  • HE IS VERY VISCIOUS

  • Can I take out an ad on his gi?

  • Police that need 12 guys to beat down and stomp on "resisting" suspects, probably shouldn't be yapping here about H2H "works".

  • Good technique- thanks for showing it-negative comments should be ignored-respectfully Oldsgtmajusmc in clarksville tn -(instructor)

  • @oldsgtmajusmc ...Thank you sir.

  • i train with drew in ct and this man's hits are like brick hitting u... he did this technique on me the 1st strike to the bicep i remember i had a bruise and couldnt really lift anything for about 2 days, drew is no joke he knows what he is talking about

  • @SuperSneakySteve Never a true word has been said.Respect n regards...

  • i can kick his ass any day

  • And i'm not implying I love what this guy teaches, because i've seen him in some of the breaking videos striking spaced bricks, which really is more of a domino effect and making yourself feel badass then it is a demonstration of skill. My instructor "6th" Dan Shorin-Ryu, ITF Tae Kwon Do black belt, has broken 3 bricks non spaced that I have witnessed. That is alot of force and concentration behind that, it wasn't for show as much as it was for his students to see what they can achieve.

  • lol, ok?

  • Do they spar? If not they suck at fighting compared to guys that do spar.

  • he breaks concrete with his hands and feet i don't think a face will stop him...

  • zook em kid!!!!!!

  • Looks pretty efficient, however why would you punch the arm when you could hit the nose of your aggressor?

  • @Mngnt :

punching someone in the face can break the bones in your hand. soft targets man, soft targets... groin or neck imo.

  • @wingman4 Hi,very true hitting a person on the head at some parts can cause a breakbut if you have conditioned your hands correctly and use targeting this should not be a problem.Correct alignment of the hand also can help avoid problems, all sadly not taught by a lot of dojos. These are basics which i said before many dojos don't teach.Agreed that a person who has not trained their fists to do the jobs they are meant to do,should stick to palm strikes or hammer fists to the head.Regards....

  • He's very good, knows how to move a lot!!!

  • It's good to learn this defence and keep an open mind but any1 who knows how to punch will not allow that to happen or fall into that lovely position. But then again MOST people aren't trained fighters are they!

  • I train in Goju-ryu and we love to attack the striking limb to take it out of commision and make them pay for trying to hit us. A strike to the bicep really works, especially against a muscle head with balloned-up arms. Great stuff Shihan!!!

  • Salaam Alaikum, as a teacher of a lethal art who grew up in the barrio, I would like to share my experience, sure when I was in the hood life I wasn't a paper tiger but now as a highly trained warrior I know the difference... in the true combat moment the outcome is won in the heart... no time for thinkin, you either survive or you don't, skill can't save you but can give you a fighting chance... there is no defense against a highly trained artist and someone not trained its simple reality...

  • Is that Kar-Do-Jitsu?

I remember seeing a school in Brooklyn, NY over on 6th Ave many many many years ago.

I remember John the Cop too.

  • you have to be kidding me right? You really think this technique would work on the street or in any kind of fight? I would love tosee you pull this off on video with no compliance in a real fight.

  • escrimagrappler...Aspects of this series of techniques have been used in many real life situations by bouncers, officers, and others. The series shown shows many theories that can work alone as well as together. It depends greatly on the situation.

  • With all due respect, I would love to see this pulled off in real life. Notice no one does these kinds of defences outside a martial art school setting with a resisting partner. No boxers, MMA fighters, or street fighters. Everyone has an answer to the punch but there are only few real answers. I'm sorry but I can't see this as one of them.

  • Escrimagrappler1...I think you have it backwards, there are many answers. This is evidenced by the many approaches of different styles. Why so many approaches? Each approach and technique depends on a number of factors: Technical prowess of the attacker, technical prowess of the defender, size, strength, training, environment, desired outcome. Do not be so quick to have all the answers. Always be open to possibilities.

  • Do you really feel you have the time to figure that out approaches in a confrontation? Kid, you have a lot to learn. I have been an undercover cop for many years in the worse sections of LA. I have made many arrests and many of them due to what I arrest them for, do not comply. No offence to you but this stuff you have on video will not work on my job. In the situation you show in the video with a complying partner, yes. lol Fight and try to pull it off, you will see what I mean.

  • Escrimagrappler...Because you are not open you miss the underlying principles...and they do and have worked. Drew has actually worked with many police and security professionals. Since you are such an expert you should realize that there is no one solution when it comes to hand-to-hand. It depends on many variables.

  • Will these techniques work if performed correctly in a real life situation? There are martial arts used world over in military applications that teach the principles shown.

Will these techniques work for a majority of people? No. If you tried to do this on the street, I have no doubt you'd fail. You're not trained for it, it isn't reflexive, you've been trained differently.

But, if Serrano or one of his students attempted to do this out on the street, they'd easily succeed.

  • @geminilibra Everyone seems to throw slow motion attacks while the teacher or "expert" throws a fast counter attack back at him. Like I said before, I never see this counter attacking method used during real time attacks. I noticed I am not the only one here who sees that smae thing here. Has martial arts turned into all fantasy and theory?

  • @escrimagrappler1 okay then tell me, what is the best way to learn the real life self defence.

  • @escrimagrappler1 Escrimagrappler1, seriously dude, speaking as a black belt myself, I sure hope you are neither an undercover cop, nor a security gaurd, or even working at a local McDonalds for that matter. Go troll on your own youtube post it page. Learning the martial arts, and all of these so called "useless" moves, isn't to imply they all work, or are evey practical, its to get your mind and your body use to reflex and motion. Practicality is first and foremost.

  • I'm with you.

  • people actually pay to learn this? I learned for free. My back yard..the barrio. Try getting jumped almost everyday coming home from school. You will learn to do two things...run very fast or fight. Stuff looks pretty painfull, but the gangsters dont fight like that and will not attack like that. Now that these gangsters are all into UFC and are aware of mounts, guards, takedowns, armlocks, chokes, punching and kicking, etc. Looks good though!

  • Kar do jitsu ryu is one of the 1st mixed martial arts schools in america. great style of karate, judo, and jujitsu. Diana is mean to. God bless you John manniel

  • Kar-do-Jitsu-Ryu old school baby. Diana Toledo in the back ground, my buddy Gabe and killer George Rodrigez.

  • Oh man, this kid hated his job. You can see him wince every time he was getting slapped, to his credit. I saw the video where Master Serrano was breaking coconuts by slapping them...

  • good technique,very well done. pisau77

  • Can't quite see where he's punching after the initial block from that angle, is it the bicep?

  • Yes, it is the bicep.

  • I could take you!! Drew, when was this? Looks good, but I am glad that it is jonathan and not me any more. You always did like to hurt me.

  • poor kid :D
