It would be useful to know what this means precisely, before assuming that it is all unconstitutional. There may be extreme situations where it could be warranted. Secondly, the government should have some ability to fight the aspect of crime that is concealed as digital information...as long as there is no misuse, the third bill seems ok.

One thing that was glossed over is the "under certain circumstances" line about bill C-50 at time index 0:50. It would be useful to know what this means precisely, before assuming that it is all unconstitutional. There may be extreme situations where it could be warranted. Secondly, the government should have some ability to fight the aspect of crime that is concealed as digital information...as long as there is no misuse, the third bill seems ok.

I can't really see a connection between privacy laws and the encroachment of freedoms unless privacy is somehow a right itself. The freedom that is oftentimes proposed makes claim to the notion that if you cannot do whatever you want without repercussion, you are repressed. This is simply a tyranny! Police officers have needed to get a warrant to enter someone's house and search the premises, for decades now...this is just an online version of the same thing.
