Meiko really does not get nearly enough love. Granted, the newer Vocaloids are more versatile and easier to use, but if you give Meiko the right song, she sounds like a GODDESS.

Plus, she was the very first Vocaloid, meaning if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have Miku, Luka, the Kagamines, or ANYONE else. Think about that.

the original was BG music from a game called touhou

it later was remixed and sung by nomico (resulting in the infamous video)

i'm not sure if this 101% accurate but this is what i know

to answer you question matter of factly, Gumi was the first vocaloid to cover the song (as far as I know)

again, i'm not 101% sure

there are other youtubers who can probably add on to this
