  • Nothing makes Lana Del Rey look like the no-talent she is, more than a quick dose of Laura Nyro. Laura's pure musical skills have reignited the flame of my own music within me, and I am tremendously grateful for the last 2 months I've spent discovering Laura's music. :) I completely agree with Mr. TheKommunity...her fire that is everywhere in her music has reignited me too! :D

  • Laura Nyro inspired me to self-learn how to harmonize with myself & to not be afraid to compose songz about anything that I truly feel. She livez forever in my Soul.

  • Am so very glad the rock and roll hall of fame finally saw fit to put in Laura nyro it's just very sad she's no longer with us to share it with us put she will long live I the hearts that love good crafted music that was her pure gift she gave us while she with us

  • Laura is a gift.

  • Such a jaunty, fun number, I love it!

    Laura rules!

  • This song really shows off the uniqueness of her sound---so funky and

    fabulous!

  • Great song. Great singer. LOVELY LAURA, ANGEL IN HEAVEN!

  • Listening to her for the first time. I need this album!

  • Dear Chyman, Yes I can tell you who Louie was. His name was Louie Fields, He was my cousin and Laura's manager. HIs father owned the Califoria club in LA back in the 50' & 60's...A very popular R & B club.Louie's brother Barney, worked for many singers, mostly Tony Bennett. I remember when this song came out. I asked Louie about it, and he was very pround Laura wrote this about him.Louie was fantastic, and Laura hit it perfect..He did walk on Gods good side.

  • @BobSpivack What a wonderful story!!! I have always LOVED this song.

  • @millvalleyrn thank you. ever since the whole illuminati, devil worshiping nonsense with jay z & co. ive found it extremely difficult to enjoy great music. it really threw me off when i was sifting through albums at a local record store and i found NEW YORK TENDABERRY with a song titled CAPTAIN SAINT LUCIFER. honestly... i dont know what to think about anyone anymore.

  • @chyman Capt St Lucifer.. one of her finest works!!!!

  • Listening to this and then listening to the demo version posted by engpauloh (or the other way 'round) is just mind blowing.

  • I follow thinking about Laura and her songs joie de vivre, hearing her wonderful songs, she is pure and original only few. Please could you posting Eli´s Coming thank you.

  • This should totally be the theme song for Louis CK's show on FX.

  • Laura Nyro was one of the greatest talents who ever lived.

  • Great to see this out here. Peggy Lipton did a cover of this that bubbled under the Top 100 in 1968 and was even more Motownish. I may upload it.

  • I uploaded the Peggy Lipton cover of this. It's on my page and should be searchable soon.

  • We need to make Laura evem more famous than she is. People need to hear her great songs that remain like a legagy of what was writing good pop songs!

  • @wvnota I agree, I personally feel that calling Laura's music 'Pop music' almost seems demeaning in a way- However, that's only because today we have a difference meaning for the word 'Pop'. In my opinion it seems to be 'throwaway' music that isn't particularly good. This however, as you say, is good pop music. I'm only 16 so the word Pop means something different to me; it's a genre of music I do not listen to very much. I actually discovered Laura through a LN tribute that Sue Keller done!

  • @CooCurrent pop comes from popular so I guess there's nothing wrong to use this term. Agree with you. When I was 16 I used to listen to Bjork, Radiohead, Sigur Ros and this "so-called" alternative stuff ... you're far ahead on the track!

  • The best Pop, love, romanticism, confessional, desire, soul laura nyro, and a "contagiantes ganas de vivir" fun, emotional, great Laura Nyro , I love you for your music, thank you for posting.

  • I love this song! Thank you for posting.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have been in love with Laura's music (writing and performance) since I first heard it when I was about your age. I'm sure I wore out some vinyl and maybe and maybe some of my family's patience (not everyone shared my passion). Surely some of the best music of the time. Thank-You for posting this.
