I had this surgery and used the exact same shower bench. Patients should be informed to put a hand towel on the shower bench before they seat themselves for a couple of reasons: 1-The plastic most likely will be cold unless an effort is made to point the showerhead at it to prewarm it. 2- The towel helps the patient turn their hips, thus getting their legs into the shower more easily.
