There's music from the mouth and mind, but when it is from the soul....doesn't get any better. There are many reasons why Norman is my favorite. At the height of all, it just flows off his fingers and lips strait from the heart. True jazz...R&B is a heart thing. Yes, he has style, grace, talent, improvisation and straight from the heart.
Damn that boy can play!!!!..Hey Norman if you read this i just want you to know that your my fav jazz artist and that you stomp ASS on that guitar!!!!..I have every album youve made!!!..Love ya man!!!!!..5/5!!!!!
1:27 ...Maaan ohh maan....tell me you wouldnt listen to this music alone in a car, not just any car but a mercedes SLR . 12 o clock midnight to be exact..after it just finished raining..streets wet and glossy..smoooothhh hahhaaaa lo gotta love it..
I am also a hard rock fan. Matter of fact, I just went, very recently to a Gary Moore concert, a guy who plays blues, with great influence of hard rock. But I also like smooth jazz or fusion jazz. I saw George Benson live 23 years ago and it was amazing. I have also seen Al Jarreau live and I knew about Norman Brown. I know many others. If if it is good quality music, I am all for it... and yes, those who call this elevator music they just do not understand how elaborate and beautiful this is.
Seems like a very personable and nice guy. He's also one of the best guitarists ever in this genre of music. I have listened to him since his first CD and haven't stopped! Thank you Norman.
This is some nice jazz -- didn't knew this "smooth jazz" genre but now I have knowledge to be the jazz of the seventies, something related to the Fusion genre.
Style, grace, talent, amazing improvisation, out of the mind experiences, thinking outside the square.... it's unfortunate that some people out there think it is "porno music" or "elevator music". I pity those people. If it is always used on pornos - then understand the reasons why - because it SOUNDS SO GOOD !! thats why !!
i hope that one day the world will witness George Benson and Norman Brown on stage together.i would travel cross country to see them no matter what it would cost.these two are my greatest musical influences along with B.B.King!!!
when I was 11 I went to an audition on my school for the music class. The teacher rejected me when I played in this way. Then I went back and played a piece scratching the cuatro then he accepted me...go figure!
Norman Brown is such a killer guitar player...fantastic chops, but with LOTS of heart and soul, you don't get better than this out there...¡¡¡Perfect!!!!
Anybody know where I can get just this version of any love.
I tried "after the storm" but what I mean is the live version that he plays right here. I love this one soooo bad and the one on the cd isnt as good. He is an artist, no doubt. Its life and death that i get just this version
This was all in a cruise, DAMNN i wish i was there, In the boat in the ocean, looking up to the stars, pina colatas and ladies. Life doesnt get any norm than that.
Excellent "live" tribute to the late great Luther Vandross. Stormin' Norman is the best!!! I hope he records a live album and DVD soon. I wouldn't be mad if he invited Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Kirk Whalum, David Sanborn, Wayman Tisdale, and (honorable mention) Maysa to hold down some vocals. Not to be disrespectful though because Norman's band is definitely tight!!!
No, not Mr. Benson's student. A landmark player in his own right. Unique style.Highly accurate in articulation. Well studied and teacher as well. Look very carefully over his past work.
