LOL! Why was Federer letting that guy put his hat on him? I would've put my racket up and said, "Back the fuck up or I'll smash my racket over your head!"
he actually served well in 2011. His serve is better than Nadal or Djokovic. It's his backhand... single-handed backhand is getting plummeled these days.
Soderling did the same thing Del Potro did in the US Open. He beat the best player of that surface. Only difference is, Federer was able to beat Soderling, even on his least favorite surface.
I clicked the "world cup effect" button and I realized how ridiculous it would be if the people at tennis matches acted like those at football matches.
The security was fucking useless they took forever to get to federer and then the 5 of them that were there couldnt even catch him the dude ended up falling over!
Was just thinking the other day how much Federer's forehand lost pace... but seeing how he played that game and thinking about how he went through the Aussie open this year, he still hits the hell out of it - he's monstruous on angles and aiming, for sure, he's just no longer a baseline basher.
Lol she's talking about Lindsay Vonn training every day of her life expect the day Federer is in the french open Final, and Lindsay coming to see him because she's such a big Federer fan.
it's great that the A-hole who interrupted is facing atleast an year in prison......that might force him to atleast think twice before thinking about interupting a tennis match......especially a fed match.......
when the guy was running towards soderling, soderling wasnt even trying to move away! i have this feeling that had the security not tackled down the guy soderling would beat the guy senseless with his racket.
Haha true, espacially in "Båstad" here in Sweden once, he played a match and he got the "killer look" on the arbiter for some seconds, but it must feelt like ages for him.. ;))
What does Federer have to do to be called the greatest? Beat Federer while Nadal is at his very best at the French Open and Federer is playing with a wooden racquet, having only 1 serve, starting from the score of 6:0 6:0 5:0 40:0 for Nadal and Nadal serving? Geez, gimme a break. Federer's done 50 % more than he needed to to be called the GOAT. 70 % of the most important records speak for theirself. Nadal might be a clay court wonder, who JUST had the perfect style against Federer. Period.

i dunno about the first point. i dont actually think all slams are equal, sampras got 14 against tougher competition. for example he won multiple finals against andre agassi, whereas federer will be known for winning many against, ehem, andy roddick...
@samaybrahmin Dear me, what on earth are you talking about? I never swore Nadal wouldn't be number 1 again. I made a comment 10 months ago, when certain people were saying Federer didn't deserve his French Open. My comment was completely correct, and it did not insult Nadal in any way.
Nadal is the rightful world number one. Congratulations to him, he is clearly the best player in the world right now.
(As evidenced by your response, some of his fans are a bit on the touchy side though.)
@animaanimaanima Yeah, I was only talking about the French Open though, since people were claiming Federer didn't really deserve it, as he didn't face Nadal.
Obviously in the last 3 slams, it's been Federer who hasn't been good enough to reach the final.
but u cant blame federer. if they still use rackets from 10 years ago, federer would be even more dominant as he is probably the most capable volleyer today.
@MrRippy99 Your #2 point is why I want to point out the flawed logic of people's minds when it comes to The Rivalry(yes, in caps, lol). Roger has consistently gotten to the finals of clay matches. Rafa hasn't done that for the hard court matches. When it comes to consistency, Rafa is still way below Roger. But we will see in 2011 and beyond. There's plenty of time for Rafa to become more consistent. He's just reaching his absolute peak.
@MrRippy99 federer will win the final anyway, even against nadal in 2009. Let's say nadal make the finals with injured knees. I think nadal is lucky not to meet federer there.
Well I would too, but there will always be another Nadal (Look at Del Pot now) - I'm quiet satisfied with the 15 slams - Fed's earned his place in history
Commentators stressed Solderling's lack of effort throughout the entire match though he said he tried his best during the post match. Federer just out played him
Also, this is the 5th final for Fed right in the French? Only losing to Nadal and no other! Also recall that Fed beat Nadal on another clay court in a final, not sure which one it was (Russian maybe), but this was the one Fed wanted! I'm sure it's bitter sweet that it wasn't Nadal losing to him that day! In spite of everything Fed, Agassi and Laver are the only three to get the career grand slam, that's somthing Agassi had over Sampras, and still does! Again his best finish was Semi-finals!
Thanks for this Video! It depicts mastery of the sport, by the greatest tennis player of all time! Did anyone catch the comment that Sampras had only ONCE made it to the semifinals! If Nadal hadn't risen to greatness at the time when he did, Federer would have 17-18 Majors, Crushing Sampras' record of 14! He's truly the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time. He's certainly the best player of the modern era - but its so hard to compare him accurately to Laver. Wilander said he thought Fed was the 3rd or 4th best CLAY court player ever - which is some accolade too. Nadal and Borg presumably being #1 and #2
Yeah it would be nice to see what Laver, could do with modern technology, it's something only god could decide (what if.) I know very little of Laver, I'd like to read about him more... does anyone know where the video is on him?
